Stanley & Seafort's
Poor customer service, the food was cold, we were served green beans that were under cooked. Our server did not even care to ask how our food was.
A great place to celebrate a birthday!
It was Wonderful we truly enjoyed our dinners. We have been going here for years and feel right before the change of ownership the food was getting sub par. This change of ownership has brought Stanley & Seafort’s right back to the amazing Restaurant it has been!
Wonderful date night dinner. Started with a glass of Pinot Grigio. Then their yummy crab and artichoke dip. My wife had tortellini with parmesan crusted scallops. I had their coho salmon with mini potatoes, Swiss chard (my 1st time... Not a big fan), pomegranate seeds, beets and apple bits and goat cheese. Both dinners were sooo good! Then finished with their pear bread pudding with bourbon sauce. Only complaint was the pre dinner bread was not fresh and quite tough.
We made reservations, but when we arrived (never been there before) there was no one to greet guests so we had no idea where to go. I asked a passing server who just shrugged and said, "open seating, wherever". So we ended up down at the bar, which was fine, but pretty sure our reservation was for the other dining room.
Food was good- enjoyed the scallops. The view was spectacular but service was SLOW.
Really nice view of Tacoma. Great crab artichoke dip, love the pomagranite salad, excellent steel head trout, BBQ ribs St. Louis style, not to our liking. Great service, Make a reservation.
Everything was perfect, will definitely be back!!!!
Dont go during concerts or events at tacoma dome they ignored us for a bday party of 4 , didnt get the view seat tequested two months in advance , didnt get seated on time , 20 mins for first waiter , appetizer and food came before even getting our first cocktail and rushed out , hair on my steak and after 250 dollar bill for 2 adults and 2teens not one cent was discounted
Disappointed with the meal! We have gone in the past because the food was excellent. We have taken the whole family for celebrations. While we were looking forward to the prime rib we were very disappointed. It looked more like choice or a lesser grade of meat. It was tough, dry and didn’t have the marbling of prime rib. The vegetables were cold and crunchy(undercooked).
5 year anniversary. Had a wonderful meal with my bride.
Tuesday night date night to check out the Tacoma Restaurant Week dinner offering and the menu was well worth the price. Prime Rib was our delicious choice for the evening -- great we could add a succulent lobster tail for an upcharge and again well worth it! Ceasar salad was a great starter and dessert has to be the Key lime pie which is the best available in any restaurant -- YUMMMM.
Rob, our waiter, was really great -- making sure our food was perfect. Thank you Rob!
A shout out to the hostess -- very friendly and inviting!
Date night promo was a good deal. We asked for a table at the window when making the RSVP over a week prior to visit and still had to wait well over an hour for a table to become available. Ok if you are a drinker and willing to wait in the bar.
The view is phenomenal; the service was as expected but not exceptional; the food was middle of the road. For 6 of us and no alcohol, we spent about $300; I think I speak for most of Tacoma when I say for that kind of money, the food should have been a lot better.
I must admit to bias in favor of Stanley & Seafort's. We discovered it years ago when we used a coupon giving a discount. We were immediately favorably impressed and established a habit of dining there often.
When Tacoma Restaurant Week featured Stanley & Seafort's we made reservations online. The process was simple and quickly accomplished.
Food: The TRW menu is a fixed price 3 course meal. The choices are limited, but the food is made by the same chefs that produce the regular menu and is outstandingly good. My spouse and I dined on the limited menu. I had the "Chef's Seasonal Choice" seafood which was Steelhead with fall vegetables, and it was perfectly prepared. My spouse decided on the 8 ounce Prime Rib and was very pleased with the result. We've heard Stanley & Seafort's has the best Prime Rib In Tacoma, and we believe it. Perfectly cooked and delightfully presented, it epitomized the high quality we expect from Stanley & Seafort's.
Service: From the friendly greeting at the door, the smiling escort to our table, and the efficient and helpful server (who filled my coffee cup whenever it got low), we were very favorably impressed.
Ambiance: The dining area has two levels, both providing a panoramic view of Tacoma. The interior of the restaurant is polished wood that reflects the lighting gently showing clearly the well presented food.
We were there on a rainy, dreary Tacoma evening and there were fewer diners than usual. The early diners were finishing their meals as we arrived, and most of the normal crowd of later diners stayed home. It was one of the few times we've seen that the entrance lobby did not have diners waiting for a table to be opened up.
I highly recommend Stanley & Seafort's for that special occasion or a First Date. I cheerfully predict that you will return again and again.
Well we never got dinner had a 545 reservations and asked for Andy’s section and never got a table until after 7 and then just went home. Happy 35th anniversary to us not.
But Andy is your best waiter at Stanley n Seaforts we have been customers since 1979 at Stanley’s but we’re very disappointed tonight.
We waited 10 mins to be greeted at the table, seemed to be a communication error. Server was gracious and provided a free dessert.
Food and service has always been great. This time Chowder was only luke warm. My filet was just a little warm. Eggs were warm and whites runny. Plate was very hot. My friends food was hot. Maybe mine was done early then under heat lamp untill hers was done. Guess it just depends on who is cooking that day. Always been excelent. Waiter and staff were all awesome.
Great service and food!
Food was delicious. We had the seafood pasta and filet mignon. The restaurant was very accommodating. The seafood fettuccini was creamy based which I don't like. I asked for tomato based instead and it was not an issue at all. The steak was perfect to our liking! The service was very good. The waitress was very efficient at her job.
Everything was really nice as usual but their was an event going on so the menu was limited that was the only disappointment
One of the most beautiful and tasty anniversary dinners we've ever had over the years. The food was fantastic and the service was beyond! To top it off....our waitress arrived with a chocolate cake and ice cream dessert to finish off our celebration. It will be a place we not only revisit, but tell our friends about for sure.
The service wa's amazing, the waitress was wonderful. The food was the worst, the calamari was very oily, the salmon over cooked and covered over with to much sauce and the seafood pasta was tasteless. Never again.
Good was fantastic and our waitress was incredibly sweet. I would 10/10 go back and recommend to others
Sorry to say but here’s the challenges: At the cost I feel that the waiter needed to be more personable, we did not entirely like the vegetable choice served with our dish and we were not sold on the dessert menu. The main dish was very good but for the price you need to get a little better.
Fun evening for a birthday celebration!
It's our go to restaurant for special occasions. They always take good care of us and make things right if there us a problem
My husband and I went for the Thursday Date Night special. What a great way to try a new place! We couldn't have been more pleased and will definitely be going back.
Michael was amazing
The waitress and staff we awesome
However the food wasn't up to par. The appetizer were delicious. We had the fried oysters and fried brie. The entrees where different. The tomahawk porkchop bizarre flavor pairing the peach and bourbon. The Braised short ribs were tasty, but the grits were undercooked and gritty. And the fish was bland.
Stanley and Seafort's is our go-to for special occasions. We celebrated a wonderful birthday dinner for the husband. Another memorable visit in the books. Thank you!
A little pricey for what you get, food was average, service okay nothing special
Prices have risen dramatically since our last visit. Food was good, but overpriced for the quality.
Wonderful food service building and ambiance, this is my new favorite place!!!
Altho the Thursday Date Night special is a very good value, the prime rib was dry and overcooked. We requested medium rare and it looked just like the medium our friend ordered and there was not one drop of blood. We have had great prime rib there in the past, so we were very disappointed.
It took an hour to get our food. My husband ordered prime rib (medium). It came rare. So they took it back while I ate my dinner. By the time his dish came back I was done eating. We came there to celebrate our anniversary but walked away vey disappointed. There were two other tables that experienced the same thing as us.
I heard the food was not as good as it used to be, but we thought we’d give it a try. Unfortunately we will not go back. For a $100 nite out I expected better.
Awesome experience for my anniversary. My wife and I were very impressed with the service and quality of food. I just left a review on Google and thought I would leave one here as well. I will certainly be back for date night.
Food as always was delicious and our service was great. The view just adds to the ambiance.
You pay for what get. Here you get your moneys worth.
