The food and service was ok
I am a restaurant owner.
Sanford’s does something that is a large turn-off.
In California there is a high minimum wage for employees.
In my opinion that is the restaurants owners responsibility .
Sanford put a sign on the table advising all customers that they add 2.9% to the bill
Due to the minimum wage
They also note that this does not count as their gratuity so they want you to tip them above that also
This will make me not come back.
Again
It is the owners responsibility to pay for the employees if they were that concerned they should just raise the prices of the food

Bar service and experience was better than the table dining. Sparking water was very expensive and entree name was misleading. A steak and shrimp “scampi” that literally only had one noodle. The red snapper jambalaya was very good though.

I love that they never rush you at this restaurant. And no matter how long I stay they keep refilling my Diet Coke, water whatever I’m drinking.

My teen chose this restaurant for her birthday. In an attempt to make it special, I called and spoke to the manager in the afternoon prior to our 6:30pm reservation to let her know that it was a sorcial occasion.
Again, upon entering the restaurant, I told the hostess, who replied that she would let our server know. The keal was fine, as was the server, but not a mention was made nor was a dessert brought out. I didn't want to being it up in front of my daughter, so we just left. I would not choose this restaurant for a special occasion again.

As always, the food was wonderful. Only disappointments were :
No Christmas decorations up yet. The waiter said they were still in the box in the hall and it was already Dec. 12.

Then the walnut crusted brie was overcooked, dark and tasted burnt.
But the Rasberry Crush cocktail was yummy, and the Dijon chicken was excellent.

We went here for my birthday because we'd never tried it. The food was nothing extraordinary but we all had a good time. The restaurant is a little on the dark side, which I don't usually like. I liked that they were able to accommodate our big group.

My wife and I have been enjoying the food , friendly servers and pleasant atmosphere since Stanford's opened a long time ago. We feel that Macerich, the owner of Broadway Plaza has neglected Stanford's by blocking them behind what used to be a parking lot with a fence around it containing building supplies.

Went here for Thanksgiving 2017. Was surprised to see the place packed at 630p and there was a little wait ... even if you had a reservation. The place did empty out around 8p. They had a Thanksgiving menu. We got the halibut, turkey, and ribs. They were all really good. Would definitely try this place out on a regular day to test out the food on their regular menu.

We were there for thanksgiving dinner. There was a limited menu and it was moderate to expensive in price. The kitchen sent out food that was lukewarm. Given the limited menu, they should have executed better. I cannot believe they execute much better during the weekend when they are busy. The water glasses sweat all over the table. They need coasters. I had to ask for an extra napkin to wipe off the table after our main courses. It was very disappointing.

While the place is a little pricey, the food was very good. We all had different things and all were good. The waiter was accommodating - switched the Brussels sprouts that came with my halibut for seasonable vegetables (that were very tasty). Had a children's menu with good options - not all fried! Parking is all metered 24/7 except on holidays, so be prepared to pay to park. We will differently go here again.

My family and I had Thanksgiving dinner at Stanford’s and had lower expectations just because holidays can be iffy in terms of good service and high quality food. The food was very well done, the atmosphere and service were great - everyone agreed, so I highly recommend.

We were celebrating two birthdays plus had an out-of-town guest. It was the perfect place - easy to get to, plenty of nearby parking, nice atmosphere, excellent service, good choices of delicious food (including gluten-free required by one in our party), and we were not rushed.

Stanford’s was once again, exquisite. The server was spot on and very personable. It’s why I frequent the restaurant quite often. Their food is delicious! Thank you for making my best friends birthday really special! She went crazy for the ribs! Couldn’t believe she had a full rack and ate the whole thing! She never does that! She loved them!! You’ve definitely won over a new customer!

I was not impressed with this restaurant. We had a reservation and was told that it would be 10 minutes until we would be seated.
We waited instead 35 minutes from our original wait time. Then spoke with the hostess and she sat us.
We sat and waited another 20 minutes at our table without anyone coming to our table to even offer water. Needless to say, we left the restaurant without a sip of water or a bite to eat for a celebratory birthday occasion for out of town guests.

One of my favorites, and despite a tiny snafu...still a favorite! I ordered a fresh simply grilled salmon plate, no sauce or rice, and the kitchen boo-booed and put sauce on it. So, the manager apologized for the delay, remade my Meal, and comped us! I was embarrassed because it was a pricey plate, but they insisted! It was very nice to have great customer service!!! Thank you, Stanford’s!

The place is a little dark and tired these days, and can be chilly inside. The menus just changed recently, and there are plenty of things on there for us to try. Our favorites so far are the crab and avocado inside out rolls, the Beef Dip/French Dip sandwich, and the crab and artichoke fork sandwich. The side salad and french fries are usually good too.

Our server was very nice, we appreciated her experience.

We noticed the dinnerware probably needs to be replaced. Lots of scratches and greyed edges of plates. Some of the smaller dishes didn't look like the dishwasher rinsed all the goo off. Nothing outrageous, just looks like they need to remodel and update soon. The whole area there has had a facelift, and now it's their turn maybe?

Would still recommend though based on past performance, current good food, and friendly staff.

My daughter and I stopped by after a H.S. Game. Our food was delis, and the service was excellent. My one complaint was that they only had one vegetable selection (broccoli). Other than that, my oysters were fried to perfection, and my daughter's chicken tacos were great!

P.S. ... And our server, I believe his name was David, was extremely attentive and professional!

Got to say...among the worst meals in a long time. I have not been here in years, but decided to try again. The waiter did a big sell on the moist brined pork chop. Yuck...no matter how you bring it, it you over cook it it's toast. I should have sent it back, but due to Birthday atmosphere I did not want to spoil the dinner. Never again. Waiter was just barely okay. Never refilled ice tea or water. Dessert took forever. Just don't go here.
