Stanford's - Tanasbourne
Service was prompt and seamless. True service wth a smile
Our server was outstanding, my burger was great, we had a wonderful meal from beginning to end.
Food and service was excellent
Stanfoeds is alright but I sure wish you didn't close Portland Seafood at Washington Square. It was the greatest.
I hadn't been to Stanford's for many years. Don't know why that is but it was good to get back there. The food was very good. We had good service. It was quiet enough so we could have good conversations which is not the case in so many restaurants nowadays.
We'll be back.
I really enjoy their brunch - it is served only on Saturday and Sunday. This time I tried the veggie frittata, and it was delicious - mushrooms, asparagus, spinach, onions, bell peppers. Their breakfast potatoes are awesome as well, and the biscuits and blackberry jam are a perfect addition. My husband had the biscuits and gravy and commented again about the seasoned butter or other seasoning that really adds great flavor to the fried eggs. It's a popular place, so I was glad that I made a reservation. We'll definitely return to try out more of the brunch menu.
We t for a friend Birthday. Two of us split the prime rib which was cut extremely thin and lots of fat making it greasy.
The green beans were barely cooked. The mashed potatoes were fine. The dinner is not the quality any longer, it used to be great.
Ordered the prime rib French dip sandwich with side salad. Both were excellent. Prime rib was flavored well and cooked perfectly. Salad had a large variety of items including bacon and hard boiled egg. Rewards program is fabulous as I received $20 off my meal.
Service and food were both wonderful. Enjoyed the lunch very much.
Wait staff was prompt and our food was delecious. We were seated quickly.
The food was delicious and the server was very nice and didn't rush us at all.
Too expensive for what you get for your money. We waited almost 25 minutes for our drinks and it was well over an hour before we got ANY food. Even appetizers, then the entree came out about 10 minutes later. The chicken was overdone and somewhat dry, and my shrimp were good but the butter/ oil sauce was VERY salty. My daughter had macaroni which was very good.
My wife and I went to Stanford's Tanasbourne to celebrate my birthday. I ordered grilled Mahi-Mahi with mashed potatoes, asparagus and salsa. When it came, the plate was cold and the Mahi-Mahi filet was 2/3 covered in cold salsa, plus the meat was barely warm. I sent it back. Meanwhile, my wife ate her prawn entrée and then had to wait until my Mahi-Mahi was served and which I had to eat by myself. This totally spoiled the birthday celebration and ruined our evening.
Stanford’s at Tanasbourne is absolutely our favorite restaurant, for every occasion; birthdays, Anniversaries, Business meetings, etc. they never disappoint!!
They food is 85% superb, and after 20yrs only 15% Medium good. We love and trust them to come thru always!!
It was AWFUL!! We used to be constant customers of Stanford's back in the day. Now everything is different in terms of the food and the way it is prepared. Salads are not good anymore, plus they are so expensive for what you get!! Burgers are not as good as they used to be and the price is over the top!! You need to go back to your roots and stop trying to reinvent the wheel.
Ribeye was thin and unevenly cooked, not much flavor, and portion size was small considering 1/2 was fat or not edible due to gristle. For 2 people and a child to spend 100+ dollars on this meal is insane. Unless you go there for the environment or people.
My table of 3 sat out on the patio. The service was good, but food arrived to the table cold.
The workers that greeted us barely talked to us, they just directed us to out table. Server was not attentive. Food was cold. We went for a birthday dinner and was not impressed. First time there I don’t think we will come back
The peppercorn salmon with cauliflower and rice was wonderful. The wine pairing was great.
My friends and I always have a good time at Stanford’s with great food and service.
We love Stanfords and eat here often. However, this visit was a disappointment. Onion rings were hard and tasteless. $20.00 for a french dip that was dry and less meat than what we used to get. So sad and hope this was a fluke in the kitchen. Staff was amazingly friendly.
We were six and originally sat at a table with excessive noise. Staff were very accommodating in letting us move into the next room where it was a good deal quieter. The dining experience was good, staff neither absent nor intrusive. My only complaint with Stanford's these days is cost. They're charging too much for their bill of fare. $17 for a burger and $8 for a small glass of house red is too much.
Salmon was 5 star. Chicken Parmesan (needs an Italian in the kitchen). Friday nights are not the most ideal night to be there-a few too many loud, crying children for our date night.
Server Canada was 5 star as was hostess/mgr Stephanie. ANd the bartender who made my kind of Cosmo was very nice!!!
We all enjoyed our meals and the service was super! wine seemed a bit pricey... we always go back!
Great place with great food! Always enjoy going. Seating is pleasant and not a noisy place.
Birthday dinner, I ordered the Tomahawk chop. $28 it was maybe 3/4 inch cooked until dry, drowning in "demi-glaze" and sprinkled with a ton apples. I think attempting to save it. Green beans were barely cooked and were cold. My wife's burger was cooked dry and they missed the no tomato on sandwich or side salad. My grandmother's steak Cobb was good.
Our server was friendly and attentive and did manage to get my chop removed from the bill.
Overall, the food quality was what I'd expect from a lower chain restaurant. For the price, it was disappointing.
Cocktails and service were good.
I always go to this Stanfor's for special occasions. Everything is perfect! Always!
My wife liked her fish tacos but could have done without the pile of multicolored tortilla chips. My. Halibut was cooked about right, though I sensed a tad of freezer burn on one end. The accompaniment of potato gnocchi (?) didn't work. Rice, as simple as it sounds, always goes well with fish. $15 for 9 ounces of cabernet was way out of line. These were average meals for too high a price. Next time we'll go next door to Red Robin if we want an average meal.
We love this location so close to home, great food, when my GF and I share a Caesar Salad we are always impressed when they split it into 2 bowls
I asked for Medium Ribeye and they sent a VERY well done dry steak. Drinks were good. Cadillac margarita and Raspberry mojito.
My hubby and I have eaten at the Clackamas location several times...the most recent was the day before with my foodie sister and BIL to celebrate my hubby's birthday. My stepdad (89 yo) and foodie bro wanted to meet for lunch sooo I saw there was a Tanasbourne location. Could it be as good as the Clackamas? Not only YES..but HELL, YES! Our server was Jason..a total delight and fun guy (not the mushroom). We all ordered different things..my crab cakes were wonderful, Dad had fish and chips, bro had pasta with andouille sausage and shrimp and my hubby the chicken parm. Everyone finished their plates...that has not happened in some of the places we have dined. Halfway through the meal, my Dad whispered to my bro (who was sitting next to him in the booth).." I want to come here again"...they live in the area so I was tickled to find a place of which they both approved. A hard challenge but one met by Stanford's ..apparently everywhere! My hubby also has an allergy to tree nuts which makes dining in some places a challenge...we had explained this to our server who took every precaution to ensure the safety of the food offered to my hubby. To find a place that my whole family considers a "let's do this again" place is VERY HARD (even with all the great Portland restaurants). To coin a phrase: WE'LL BE BACK!
This review would have been 5 stars, if it wasn't for the down soda machine. :( But the food and service were outstanding! We always love Stanford's.
We got there a little late so we didn’t expect super food. Our server was a little over dramatic.
Waiter was slow and not very friendly. Not busy at all but could never get drinks together
Great food, waiter did not even bat an eye when my friend asked if they could cook her steak a bit more. He just had the cooks take it up a level. So nice.
Kyle was great and we had a good time as usual!
consistently decent food and very good service. price is targeted at the business client who can write the meal off. there are some selections for "normal" customers but all in all the entrees are very expensive.
We have gone there for our anniversary for the last couple of years and they always treat us with respect and kindness. We had our first date here over six years ago so it has a special meaning for us. The staff is always welcoming and the food is excellent.
The American Wagyu Burger is awesome! Ask for it medium rare for a nice juicy and tasty burger. First time I had it with pepper bacon. The 2nd time without and missed it. Did I mention the Onion Rings for an appetizer? Yummmmm!
Ordered Baja fish tacos (Halibut). Presentation was good. Execution was terrible. Corn tortillas were filled with a cabbage slaw and a single piece of fish, then topped with a dollop of guacamole. When I say a piece of fish, what I mean is, they took one halibut filet, cut it into 3 pieces and put one on each taco. So much cabbage and so little fish! So disappointing.
