Stanford's - Southcenter Ratings and Reviews
Neither I nor my date were impressed. Calimari greasy. Food OK, but not really differential from, say, Applebee's. Given that we spent $100 including tip and no drinks, don't think it was good value for money. Better places in that price range within a mile.
Always a special treat to dine here, even without a special occasion. The waitstaff is always attentive, without being obtrusive. Menu has many standard features plus always a great "fresh" sheet. Great cocktails, including their own creations. Well-priced and always good. The hosts and hostesses are always professional and make one feel welcome.
I was extremely disappointed with my visit on Sunday. After ordering it took over 40 minutes for our food to arrive. And, the fries I got with my meal were stone cold. I had the French dip and it had not flavor whatsoever. Additionally the friend I was with her we had to ask to get her coffee refill. Our server Lindsey was not attentive to our needs and took over 20 minutes to get our closing check. I'm going to think twice about returning to Standfords again!!
We used to eat at Stanfords in Portland and really liked it. This Stanfords was quite large and they did not have enough wait staff. It took 45 minutes to get soup and salad and over an hour for entrees which were simple, tacos and a Caesar salad with ahi. Food was not very fresh, soup was very salty and pretty gross. Never could get a second drink. I would not recommend it to anyone.
I know that Standfords have a nice children's menu, so thought it would be a great experience for my 2 grandchildren to dine there for a special "Grandma lunch". The server was attentive until our order was placed - we received our meals, the food was very good -- however the extras that come with the kids menu never arrived at our table. Our server did not check on us or ask if we needed anything -- she did arrive to present the check - at that point we had to ask for drink refills and about the ice cream that came with the kids lunches (never saw the bread or fruit that was to be included). It looked like the restaurant was short staffed - our server had MANY tables to take care of! I will give Stanfords 1 more chance -- hoping that they can be more attentive.
We had a late reservation on a Friday night. The service was a little slow, but I think that is just because of the late hour. The food was excellent (we had prime rib, the artichoke dip, and the seared ahi appetizer). Excellent portions, and very reasonably priced.
They seemed to be understaffed. We waited 30 minutes for our food after we placed our order. Do they put people with Open Table reservations at terrible tables purposely? We were seated right outside the entrance to the kitchen, so we listened to back of house noise and yelling the entire time. The restaurant was mostly empty, so there was no excuse for the slow service or the crappy table. This was possibly the worst dining experience we have had at this location. We were getting ready to just leave money for our drinks and walk out after 30 minutes. Not sure we will return.
We went to Stanford's for a birthday dinner. Although the restaurant was nearly empty, the service was rather slow. We had cold coffee and it took a long time to get our order or our food. However, the atmosphere is wonderful and the server was very kind. I think maybe we were just there on an off night, because our dining experiences at Stanford's previously were very good.
Went for our anniversary. When I made the reservation I specifically stated this and we didn't want to be seated by kids. We had kids all around. Good took over an hour and the waiter was very inattentive. Won't go back despite the tasty food. Not worth it.
I ordered medium rare prime rib and our server brought out a well done cut and said that they were out of the medium rare... I was upset she wasted a cut that I did not want to eat. I would have much rather had the chance to be told they were out and changed my order. The manager was very kind and did just that. However it took so long to get my meal that my husband was completely done with his before mine even came out.
Don't waste your time or money here. Took 15 minutes for our server to get to us after we sat. He got our drinks wrong and the bartender had to bring out the right drinks. Our server then didn't come to apologize for his mistake. We order and appetizer that never showed. Our dinner was brought out by the hostess that looked at our table and didn't think it was ours until he came back five minutes after that. Our server never came over to ask how our food was and finally when he did we asked for check and left in hurry. Huge waste of time and a huge waste of a gift card we got. Never never will be going back again. Top this off it was a slow Friday evening has the Seahawks we're playing.
We stopped here before going to a movie. My husband had a marvelous burger on a brioche bun with bacon and some of the tastiest fries with it. I chose the Luncheon special of smoked salmon chowder with a half chicken club sandwich. I could not believe the chowder was a huge bowl, not a cup and it was loaded with huge pieces of delicious salmon. The club sandwich was great with fresh avocado and provolone cheese. This is a great quiet place to eat for lunch as the setting is somewhat like a steak house with quiet booths and muted lighting.
Service was friendly and professional. We both got steak (Filet and Strip) and the waitress asked us to check our steaks to make sure they were to our desired doneness. I always feel bad when I have to call the wait staff back to ask them to cook my steak longer (I like it medium rare, but often it's way too undercooked when I get it back), so that meant a lot. Mine was a little too rare and she sent it back right away to let it grill for a little longer. Everything tasted great. The apple caramel dessert was amazing. Overall a great experience and a great date night.
mediocre food, alright service, nothing special.
my salmon was slightly fish and absolutely overpriced for being so flavorless (i had it subbed instead of chicken on my kale salad which was bland), and my hubby's prime rib came out lukewarm. wine selection wasn't impressive, but i liked the lavender cosmo.
Everything from the beautiful restaurant, friendly and quick service to the very delicious food was a great experience. I got the Planko Crusted Chicken Dijon which came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Each piece was delicious and it all was delicious together. Definitely will be back while we're here in the next 6 weeks.
Our server was wonderful and all the staff were very attentive. Food was good - hollandaise was too thick and sparse. Bacon on top overpowered the Benedict. Biscuits and gravy were good but the gravy tasted too much like bacon. Would have been nice to have spicy sausage in the gravy. The biscuits were good.
Always have a great experience here. Great menu and nice staff. Was unusually noisy this time as we were seated next to a large table with small children. There were rows of tables open in the quieter part of the restaurant, can not understand why they would seat us where they did.
The canceled our reservation a few hours before we were suppose to be there via email. We made them two weeks in advance for a special celebration. No reason was provided as to why. That would have been my first time to go there, I won't return now if that is how they treat customers.
We had dinner in Beaverton, OR at a Stanford's a week earlier than at Southcenter - the food quality (especially the baked brie appetizer), service, and ambience in Oregon was superior to what we experienced in Southcenter. We were pretty disappointed with the difference, and the cost of our meal dropped the value rating when compared to just "good" ratings on food, service and ambience. We may try it again sometime, hopefully will be as stellar as in Oregon.
