Stanford's - Southcenter
My fish was overcooked but it was remade and it was tasty. The concern is the portion size compared to the cost of dish. Little skimpy on the sides.
Brunch was very good, but somewhat plain. Adding green peppers to omelet would have been perfect.
Very impressed with this high quality restaurant in an easy accessible area
Seemed short staffed, I think that is why we were marked as missing our reservation
Great food. I personally don't like the tall booth sides, it makes it very isolated but good for privacy.
Has become our favorite place. Love the hostess who remembers us. Love the food. We take friend's there, and applaud the service. We are happy and content every time.
Good food. Basic service. Nothing exciting or "wow" factor.
Solid restaurant but food of average quality for the price point. Decent meal but better restaurants for the price point.
Seated on time but server showed up after 30 mins to take our drink & dinner orders. 30 mins later another server brought our salads BEFORE we got our drinks which came about 15mins later. After another 30 mins, we got our entrees, both cold, returned for re-heating which took another 15mins & were over-cooked. We didn't see our server again for another hour. We didn't expect to spend 3 hours over dinner and won't be going back to Stanford's again.
We went on Valentine’s Day so it was busy but the appetizer took 45 minutes and after we got our drinks we didn’t see our wait for over 30minutes. The food took a total of an hour and a half and then when we got it everything was cold. Very disappointing experience.
This was TERRIBLE!!! Arrived and seated at reservation time and was seated. Order was taken. We waited over 1 and 1/2 hour for an appetized to arrive. I asked the waiter about the order and he said he would check. He never returned. I then found the so-called floor manager and asked him, again reply was I will check. He also did not return. Finally after the long wait we got up and left. We were not the only ones who experienced this as other customers were also leaving having experienced the same problem. I would NEVER NEVER recommend or return to this terrible place. One would be better off getting a sandwich at a gas station rather than this place. STAY AWAY from Stanford's!!!
Waiter was younger male and nice, pleasant, etc. BUT, wasn't very attentive i.e. checking on our drinks, after our dinner was delivered to our table, he never came to check on our food, us, nothing. Waiter arrived after we were finished with dinner and brought the bill.
What the waiter does not know, is that our initial appetizer was not made as requested, meaning no one read ticket or waiter did not write down on pad. Waiter didn't check on us, so he did not know about issue. Other bus people delivered meal and sent back for correction.
When dinner arrived, my medium Filet Mignon was not medium, but almost well done. BUT, I order this cut for this issue. You cannot screw up a Filet Mignon unless you really try. The steak was good and not tough, just fairly well done. Additionally, the vegetable was Asparagus and one of the stocks looked like it had been under heat for quite sometime, soft, mushy, discolored to grayish appearance, and all the other stocks were clean green and fresh looking.
I've eaten at Stanford's a few times and different locations. If this had not been Valentine's Day, I wouldn't be so critical. This visit did not wow me at all and will rethink future visits.
Worse experience I have ever had as a paying customer especially on my girlfriend and my first valentines day. If that is how they run that restaurant they should just close their doors. Inexcusable horribly ran dump...
We enjoy eating here the food is good and the server's are also. Our one complaint is the speed of the service which is often slow and at times very slow.
It was our first time. The food was great. Prices were great! We’ll be back!
Very comfortable with a low noise level for a business meeting. Service was great, allowed us lots of time to talk before ordering. Great for business meetings.
The food and service is always great. There's plenty of parking. This is a great location!
The restaurant was very dirty and dusty. Service was exceptionally slow and the waitress seemingly and purposely ignored us. They were touting brunch with fresh cinnamon rolls and biscuits from scratch which were terrible. Both were cold and hard. I've had better cinnamon rolls out of a can. Didn't seem like any of the other restaurant patrons were enjoying them as they were left on tables. Won't visit this site again.
We had an early dinner at 4:30 on a Saturday. There were a few people there eating, several people watching NFL playoffs in the bar. A fair variety of menu choices - better than other RUI locations. STRONG coffee! Comfy seating in an elevated booth. Lots of seating. Had a really good southwest salad with light dressing and authentic flavors. Smoked chicken linguine was delicious - great smoky chicken. We weren't offered bread, although we didn't want any. Overall great place.
Have never had a bad meak at Standords. Food is excellent and service is inviting. A very comfortable restaurant.
Good food kitchen a little noisy
Steak was ok. Thin cut ribeye so a little dry and flavor just ok. Ribs a little dry but had ok flavor. Garlic mashed potatoes dry and salty. Grilled brussel sprouts ok. I have been here for happy hour specials and food and price ok. Waitress was very nice and attentive.
my birthday is 12-31 and selected Stanfords as they've always had a great menu with a lot of options.. however, when we went there, they were operating with a "holiday menu' which did not provide many choices at all. we all ended up getting a salad. very disappointed and will keep that in mind for next year!
We have stopped here 2 years on a row on Christmas, with a reservation. This year we waited for an hour to get our food. We were told the kitchen was backed up, the bar was backed up, and the waitress apologized multiple times, even bringing us bread at one point because it was after 7:30PM. We still had a 3 hour drive ahead of us, so waiting an hour for our food wasn't acceptable. We had a reservation, as I'm sure everyone there did, so they should have expected the number of people there, and staffed accordingly. Will think twice about going there next Christmas.
Foods was great. Our server gave us a heads up, that orders are a little bit slower oui w, since its Christmas. Our server was fantastic, and definitely will be coming back.
A nice seasoned crowd, and a good wine selection. While I don't recommend this place for one with the girls, I think it is a nice quiet place to have a good meal.
Only issue is for a 6' 5" 300 lb. Guy, was they only had booths. No tables. Pretty tight seating.
It’s our family tradition to have lunch at Stanford’s every Christmas! The food is always wonderful and the service is exceptional!
We ate there on Christmas Eve. The holiday menu was limited and very pricey. The rib eye steak and the ribs were excellent but the prime rib was very fatty and the steak salad wasn't very good. The desserts were excellent. The noise level was very low which made for a nice holiday dinner.
The holiday menu was restricted to basically steak, and half the party was interested in trying the items on the regular menu not served when we dined.
Food was great with brunch options available on Sunday. Wait service was good and she didn't bother or rush us.
Took over 1 hour to receive meal after placing order.
This location has great food and service!
Service slow and inconsistent. took food longer than normal from time we ordered. Quantity of food very disappointing. We are regulars and we have been disappointed the last few times. Also the temperature in restaurant was very chilly. Spoke to new kitchen manager and he stated he is working on improving things.
Overall it was a good dinner except there were only 3 parties eating when we arrived at 7p. We were the only 4 people left. When we left at 9p there was nobody else in the restaurant. Kinda weird for a day after Thanksgiving. Server was prompt but being in an empty restaurant she seemed slow. I think her name was Tiffany but not sure what her name was when she introduced herself. There were no substitutes for the mashed potatoes; even though I had asked for a baked potato. There were chunks of potato in the mashed potatoes which was weird too.
Food was wonderful and cooked to perfection. Family had the Baby Backed Ribs and the Turkey Feast. So thankful to find a place open on Thanksgiving day. We also make it a habit of eating at Stanford's on Christmas day. Great way to celebrate the holidays.
I have been here before for dinner and the food was just fine. The booths are very tight for larger people. Men, if you are a 46 waist or higher, ask for table. We went with family for their Thanksgiving dinner and got the "classic turkey dinner." It was clear these dishes were prepared and ready to go as they brought them out within a minute or two of ordering. Normally I appreciate quick food service but this was too quick. The turkey wasn't bad, though you were not given a choice of white or dark, just given a mixture of both. Gravy must be expensive this time of year as the combined amount on both the turkey and mashed potatoes (lumpy) was about one tablespoon. The stuffing was drryyyyyyy, beyond dry and tasteless. The "seasonal vegetables" were brussels sprouts with bacon, overcooked and quite greasy. At least the turkey wasn't dry and the spoonful of "cranberry relish" was quite good. The roll was fabulous and easily the best dinner roll I've ever had at a restaurant. I suppose that sums up our experience when the best thing about the meal was the dinner roll. For $117 after tip for 3 people I could have come up with something much much better. I always appreciate restaurants being open on Thanksgiving, but this meal left me not very thankful at all. Service was fine and our waiter was pleasant, attentive, and helpful. We did not see the point in making a fuss about the food and none of us came close to finishing our plates. Stick to their regular menu and avoid their holiday fare.
Stanford's caters well to our family with my 90+ year old mother in a wheel chair. It took some trials & tribulations when we first started coming here, but now the staff knows us and understands our needs, serving us with good humor. When I saw that they were providing a Thanksgiving dinner, I didn't hesitate to reserve a table. The turkey was moist, brussels sprouts excellent and our mother was very happy with her prime rib.
We have been long-time Stanfords customers, and have enjoyed Thanksgiving there at least two other times before this year. So we booked our reservation feeling it was safe. Well, there's a first time for everything and this time the meal was extremely disappointing, both because the turkey dinner my son ordered was full of gristle and fat, had a tail feather in it, and the meat was all little chunks rather than nice slices. They did replace the meal and did it all in white meat the second time so things worked out better, but it was still amazing to us that they'd even send a meal out like that to begin with. My husband had the salmon and wanted something other than brussels sprouts and they only had one vegetable as an option. Really? And then the big disappointment for all of us was it was absolutely freezing in the restaurant. All-in-all, not the pleasant meal experience we were expecting. Not real sure who was in charge that day, but from us you get a fail.
