A new menu at Stanford's! I like the old menu and wasn't sure when I sat down and saw that everything changed. All dishes served to my table were great! I had the special sheet Simply Grilled Halibut - it was amazing! Substituted the brussel sprouts for asparagus and it was perfect. I'll return soon to enjoy again.
Food was good. Service was appropriate. It was a nice venture.
This is the "go to" place for a good friend and me for our monthly lunches. The food is excellent and the service is outstanding. And it's not so loud we can't carry on onversation.
All around great experience! I will be back soon. I love the halibut tacos!!
Mike is a great server- he made our date night much more entertaining! The food was awesome as usual but the night was all around memorable because of server!
My daughter and I met here for dinner before driving into town for a show at the 5th Avenue Theater. I ordered a salad before my dinner and was shocked by how big it was. My daughter and I both shared it (she did not order a salad) and still didn't finish it. I ordered the oysters, a treat for me, which were cooked to perfection. My daughter ordered the prime rib, medium, and it was perfect. She ordered the 12 oz which was so much to eat she took some home. Brussels sprouts was the vegetable for both of us and was tasty. I did not care for the rice but my daughter loved the mashed potatoes. The decaf coffee I ordered was not as hot as I like it, but the staff was quick to brew a fresh pot and bring me a cup of steaming hot coffee. I have a dairy allergy and found it easy to adapt the menu options for my diet. We definitely will come back again.
As always, the food, service, and comfort of Stanford’s was excellent . We had the halibut in a verbanc sauce accompanied by nicely prepared Brussels sprouts, it was most tasty. Carlos, our server was most attentive but not intrusive. He helped make our Valentines night out most enjoyable. We will certainly be back.
Stanford's suffers from what I call Corporate Restaurant Chain Syndrome - good enough to please most people, does well executing the food 80% of the time (enough that you'll be back again), but it lacks...something. The vegetables this time around were the failure: overly stiff mashed potatoes, woody asparagus, yet awesome hothouse cherry tomatoes. The tomahawk pork chop was seasoned well, with a good (but not enough!) demi-glace, and cooked to the perfect temperature. The specialty pear martini cocktail was delicious, and my husband's prime rib was well done. Where Stanford's shines is in its execution of its proteins and the consistency of its service: prompt, attentive, and not obtrusive. This is the third time we've been here, and we're likely to be back, in part due to its location as a decent sit-down restaurant on the way home. What I wish it was: a lot more consistent in executing the entire dish, with better choices for vegetables.
Carlos as usual is my favorite server. He's so attentive, professional and also knows when I'm having a conversation at the table that I need concentration. He's still very attentive and makes sure everyone has what they need: more water, etc. He's the best!!
Enjoyed our waitress she was friendly and helpful, which made us very happy.
Stanford's never fails to please! The food is very good, the servers pleasant. Unfortunately there is no outdoors seating. Stanford's is located adjacent to one of Seattle's best shopping malls.
I particularly like their salads and sandwiches. Many of the sandwiches come with fries, and I ask for them to substitute cold slaw, instead. This never seems to be a problem.
This restaurant has quickly turned into one of "go to" spots at Northgate. So much so, that the waitress even knows our order by now. Regardless, it's DELICIOUS. The filet's are always cooked to perfection, the asparagus and brussel sprouts are pure heaven, and their cookie skillet is probably the most delicious dessert I've ever had. The happy hour isn't bad either, if you get there in time. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
The food was, as usual, just average. The staff is always very pleasant and give very good service, so it seems they are well treated. Stanford’s is often convenient, but I don’t expect to enjoy the food, however it is edible. (Coffee could be stronger - it is Seattle of course. And coffee mugs could be a bit smaller, not so heavy and cumbersome. Coffee gets cold too fast in big mugs like these.)
We like this place. Crowd varies day to day night to night but the food is good with large portions. Kids like it too and OpenTable has got us seated right away. Probably best dining in Thornton Creek
Enjoyed our meal very much! We'll be back soon. Great food. Good selection of wines and interesting cocktails.
Carlos, our server, is always 100% excellent. He knew enough that this was a meeting and he did not interrupt us except when the meals were ready and ready to be taken away. Your wait staff really make the experience!!
Awesome dinner with 5 friends after the movie
We love the atmosphere and wait staff, but especially the food! I couldn’t wait to have the fish tacos with that amazing rice and Chrissy adores the open face crab sandwich! Everything was great!
Christmas dinner was fine. Service was very good. Major problem with your bill having been charged twice to our credit card. Person answering the phone when we called to report the problem billing was very rude. Wouldn't go back.
We came for Christmas dinner and it was ok. My prime rib was perfect, and I ordered another prime rib dinner to go, to drop at a friends house. But two guests steaks were bad. The steak salad entree was poor. She ate everything except the steak, it was so tough and inedible she just left it to be thrown away. Another guest had the ribeye which looked good, but poor quality, and most of it was pushed away. The filet was very good my other guest reported. So disappointing for a special meal at a place that used to be quality!
We had a lovely lunch at Stanford's. The food was good. Our waiter was great - very attentive.
I took two of my sons to dinner last night at Stanford’s, Jason was celebrating his 40th birthday. Our server was Nicole and she just made all of our day! She was sweet friendly knowledgeable helpful complementary a pure delight!
I had the hard tacos and I can’t wait to go back and get them again, they were delicious that rice is just awesome I can’t say enough about the food we got a stack of onion rings those were delightful. My son got the fillet mignon happy birthday Jason. We loved the beet salad just a great place to dine!
Did not sit us for 20 minutes on our reservation. Horrible service.
Martini was well made, portions well sized and sometimes tasty. The big negative was the filet mignon. I asked for medium well, but meat was overcooked, chewy, poor quality.
We took our friend here for her birthday. We all enjoyed our lunch and the unrushed pace here. As we finished our meals, the waiter brought her an ice cream sundae. It was a very nice experience for us all.
Met some long time friends for dinner. The food & service were great. One reason we picked Stanford’s was because it was convenient for all of us & we knew it would be good value.
This was the 2nd year in a row we went there on Thanksgiving. The special menu has everything you would expect for Thankgiving. We went for the Prime Rib which didn't disappoint once again
We came for Thanksgiving and the wait staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent and came quickly. I highly recommend this reataurant.
The service and management attention is always appreciated. Food is terrific, and the service is genial, professional and amazingly fast.
Great setting, great services, and phenomenal food. The crab cakes were a little less than expected, but not bad.
This is one of our favorite places to eat. Many choices on the menu, good seafood, beef and pork items. The staff is outstanding and caring! Large parking lot, adjacent to one of the area's large malls. We argued about who had the best meal.I had an excellent crab and artichoke on focaccia bread, served with a choice of sides. I chose a cinnamon apple slices. Other choices included slaw, or fries.
The gardenburger was great. Good thing because this is about the ONLY vegetarian entrée on the menu
Great kids menu. Friendly service. Food was okay - meal was not quite hot enough, but not bad. Kids enjoyed their meals a lot!
Avoid at all costs. Proceed directly to Taco Bell. Absolutely aweful. The only saving grace was the service. Steak was undercooked, sides were cold... Wasn't ribeye... Just terrible, worst food in Seattle.
Restaurant itself was nice enough. Not too loud. Clean. Wait staff was okay although it took longer than it should have given the number of people.
The food was decidedly subpar for the most part. I got a steak cobb salad and the steak was underdone and very tough. My companion got the prime rib and it was way over-spiced (rosemary) and not at all tender. Very chewy. Her mashed potatoes were kind of dry.
I guess the rest of the salad was fine.
Reserved a table for my wife and I for lunch before seeing Aladdin at the Paramount. We were seated right away and the service was excellent. The menu had many great options and lunch specials for a good price. The food was very good. I had the half crab and artichoke sandwich with a salad. The salad had real bacon and boiled eggs...very tasty. My wife's chicken strips were OK, but could have been fried a bit longer as they weren't as crispy as she usually likes. The BBQ sauce served with the strips was exceptional. The Strawberry Lemonade was good, but very tart, and the only sugar on the table is sugar in the raw which doesn't mix well in cold drinks. Overall a nice restaurant for any occasion. I will go again.
Met a friend for dinner last Saturday night. We started off in the bar and got good service. Was seated in the dining room in a cozy booth. Excellent service - server was efficient, friendly and good humored. The meal plus wine was very reasonably priced. I had the grilled oysters with creamed spinach and vegetables - this was a "light" preparation - not heavy on the cream - just enough to make it rich. Lightly sautéed vegetables and crispy oyster filled the platter. My friend had a chicken pear fig salad that was huge and very tasty. A perfect dining place, after shopping at Northgate Mall. Will definitely return.
This was the worst restaurant meal I have ever eaten. Ever. Stringy, tough prime rib served lukewarm. Chicken Parmesan that was all breading and little chicken, desperately overcooked, even after I sent it back once, with supposedly fresh mozzarella that was a congealing glop atop one of the two pieces of chicken. We spent $80 for two on a meal that was worth about $10 plus a beer. (They couldn't screw up the beer.) Wow, this was awful.
I was disappointed they didn't recognize my lovely lady's 87 birthday. When I made the reservation I mentioned it was a birthday dinner.
Really like is restaurant for dinner, but brunch was nearly inedible. The potatoes were so overcooked you couldn't cut them with a knife. The crab cake tasted like dried bread crumbs. We will not take anyone to brunch at Northgate Stanford ever again. It was very embarrassing.
The food is great but the service is really slow. Lots of options on the menu.
