Stanford's - Lloyd Center Ratings and Reviews
I was surprised that the filet mignon was perhaps the worst cut I have ever received at a restaurant, not sure that was what it was supposed to be. Desert got both myself and my wife up in the middle of the night sick. Will not be returning for dinner there. I would expect more from a $200+ dinner.
What a disappointment. We always enjoyed Stanford's while eating in the bar area, so we had a birthday and wanted to celebrate in the dining room. They were out of some of the food items on their menu as well as bar items. The manager came by once during our meal to ask how everything was but not afterwards when our server asked if we wanted to see her again. She never came back by. The food was good, but not fantastic (as we expected). Our server was not efficient or readily available. It also appeared that the communication between our server and the bar lacked greatly. All in all, a great disappointing birthday celebration.
We sat at the exact table that we wanted, with our reservation. Michelle was great. She did everything well. She even took a group picture with two devises when asked. She was efficient and cheerful. The woman that seated our group was great also! Thanks, we will be back again to Stanford's!
Food was good. Group of 15 not high maintenance. Felt a little forgotten. Salads were missed with some dinners that had to be brought out separately. No water refills offered. No reorder or alcohol drinks offered until meal was already completed.
Great food - perhaps just bad timing for our group.
Average food, decent prices, excellent service.
My partner wanted prime rib for his birthday dinner, so I searched on-line for a place that served prime rib at an affordable price. He was very happy with his prime rib. the other foods were just so-so. the garlic mashed potatoes were dry and over salted, the broccolini was undercooked and too tough to eat.
We arrived for a casual dinner and conversation and stayed for almost three hours. We started with the spinach/artichoke dip and it was very tasty. We ordered some nice fine wine and then ordered dinner. We decide to go casual with our dinner and I ordered the chicken tacos while my wife ordered the halibut tacos. Both were very flavorful. Our server, Brandon, was very attentive. It was a nice evening.
I was quite disappointed in the menu. It has changed a lot and now has a very small variety of meals to choose from. At first the waitress was attentive then not so much. When we were finished with dinner she didn't even bother to ask if we wanted dessert. I asked if she could bring a dessert menu and she said "of course, right away". Well right away never happened so when she passed by our table I asked for the bill which she immediately handed over not even asking if still interested in dessert. Her loss - small tip. All in all disappointed in changes as it used to be a convenient place to meet friends for lunch/dinner or before an event at the Moda center. I will be looking elsewhere in the future.
The restaurant is great place to have a conversation without the noise of music and people around. Accessible for those on wheelchair is great. The only problems is very difficult to enter the building. Door is so heavy. The problem with the "opentable" reservation is there no place to correct the mistake. For instance, if I entered the wrong time, I can't go back and correct it. I had to call on the phone to correct the error.
Great Sunday Lunch - Poor Hostess Service.
On this visit I enjoyed the Lentil and Italian sausage soup with a Crab and Artichoke sandwich. It’s the best soup. I’ve tried to imitate it at home with no success. The Crab and Artichoke sandwich is my favorite and always very tasty here. The food was 5 Star.
However, my guests arrived ahead of me and were seated. Upon my arrival I was not advised my guests were already seated so I was left waiting in the lobby for 10 minutes. Finally I phoned my guests to learn they were there all the time. Very frustrating (deduct 3 Stars). Overall dining experience: 4 Star average.
We went to Stanford's for a comfortable evening on a rainy night, so we decided to have appetizers in the lounge area. We ordered the BBQ quesadilla, fish tacos, and spinach/artichoke dip along with some good wine. All were really tasty and the area was very inviting.
We had a reservation at 8:15 and arrived at 8:00. There were no staff people to greet us and we waited about 5 minutes before wandering into the bar. There was a staff member engaged in conversation with a customer but didn't acknowledge our presence or confusion. Another bartender arrived and told us the bar was open seating and we should just find an open table. Apart from feeling ignored when we first arrived, we were taken good care of, although two other couples left without being helped while we at our dinner.
We were happy with our the food we ordered: a rack of ribs, the steakhouse burger and a side salad. The burger was cooked medium rare as requested and the ribs were tender.
The primary reason we will not return was the poor service. Initially, our waiter was promptly at our table to take drink orders and returned to see if we were ready to place our order a minute or two later. We said we were not and then waited an additional 15 minutes before he returned. Our food came out a reasonable amount of time later, delivered by another waitstaff person. We attempted to flag down our waiter a few times, eye contact was made and he kept on walking. When we did finally flag him down his demeanor was unprofessional. "yeah", was the reply to us stopping him to ask a question, not "how can I help you?". This is one example, a couple more weird interactions occurred. Overall, the guy seemed really put-out at having to do his job. If a restaurant is going to charge ~$50 for dinner for two, they should invest more time into training their servers to at a minimum be courteous to their patrons.
