Stanford's - Kruse Way (Lake Oswego) Ratings and Reviews
Well I usually love this place. This time around the service was slow and the food was blah!!! The Blackened Ahi appetizer was the only highlight of the evening!! The Steakhouse burger was bland. Dry old bun. The Baby Backs were over sauced with very sweet BBQ sauce, couldn’t taste the meat!!! Very disappointing overall!!
Went there for Christmas Eve dinner before special candlelight service at church. The food was excellent, but the Christmas Eve menu was truncated with fewer choices. For example, I wanted a hamburger. That was not available, so I was “forced” to get a half-rack of babyback ribs, which were excellent. What the heck am I complaining about? The ribs were much better than a hamburger, so it appears I am whining because I didn’t get what I wanted when I wanted it! Dang, I could identify as a liberal snowflake. My bad.
Good special, the jambalaya. Although I am not a super big person (wear men's L or XL shirt) the booth was too small and I couldn't lean forward enough to eat comfortably. Also, tried to get a reservation (Open Table) for 3pm but it would not let me have it. Got one for 3:15, but when we got there the restaurant was nearly empty. Lots of tables for 3:00.
Three of us had beef. All were ordered as either medium rare or medium. All were well done and not as ordered. Still tasted okay but definitely overlooked. I probably would not recommend any type of beef. The salmon was perfect.
Our waiter Jeremy did an exceptional job taking care of us while we dined on a special Christmas present occasion, i.e., Dinner at Stanford's and a play Lakewood theater. We were on a tight timeline so with his prompt service we were still able to arrive at the proper time before the play began. He quickly remedied a mix up in a menu item.
We always enjoy Stanford’s. It’s reliability good on all counts. This time Jessica made the day with good humor, well thought out suggestions, and attentive service. We even had fun with the items they had run out of. Thank you, Jessica.
We went for Thanksgiving dinner. I picked Stanfords because I didn't want to go downtown to a loud, expensive restaurant. We were not disappointed with the food and atmosphere. The portion sizes meant Thanksgiving leftovers. The food was traditional homestyle cooking. If you want good food and be able converse, this is the place
