We were seated promptly and our server was very attentive but not pushy. She had great recommendations for food and clearly knew the menu really well. We didn’t have to wait long, even though they put in a lot of effort with the dishes.
We loved all our food selections and the wait staff was very good.. Our biggest complaint was the volume of the music which our waitress promptly obliged us by turning it down. Much appreciated.
Always enjoyable to eat here.
This was our second visit here and we decided to try the Happy Hour in the bar. The Crab and Avocado Sushi was delicious and a great value. The Chicken Strips and Prime Rib Sliders were great tasting. I tried the Pepper Bacon Macaroni & Cheese was ok. Nothing special. Too gooey. We tried the fish tacos. It had a good flavor but way too messy to to try to eat elegantly. Hold the Cole Slaw and flatten the fish a bit so it doesn’t squirt out the other end. Very good service!
It was good. My dads food came out cold but they did fix it. Everyone else food was good.
As always your food was superb. We came to Stanford's for Easter dinner with our whole family not just because of the good food, but it's quiet enough for my parents who have hearing issues. The only complaint we have is that my wife and I ordered mango Margaritas, which we were told we could order because you have mango for another drink. They were weird, partly I suppose because we didn't order them to be blended, but also because the bartender rimmed the glasses with salt instead of sugar. Also, they would have been better if they had been made with frozen mango chunks and blended instead of made with syrup and ice cubes.
The service was also great. From the person who showed us to our table, to the servers and even the young man who was clearing the table as we were leaving, each one was professional yet personable.
Prime Rib ($34.95) was ordered "medium rare". Gave an end cut that was very well done. Kitchen chef brought new steak and said "when you order an end cut, it's hard to get medium rare". We responded that we did not order an end cut. Our table Server was very gracious and apologized for the inconvenience. The server also let us keep the very well done steak. I've been here on very busy nights and the manager appears to be more of a hindrance than a help. She asked us to put our names on a waiting list for the BAR! I had never heard of a waiting list for the bar (we frequent this establishment) but we obliged. Then, we noticed that people that had just arrived went directly into the bar at sat down when she wasn't looking. The method was poorly designed and implemented and very frustrating for the other patrons waiting.
There’s something for everyone! The bar menu is full of delicious treats at great prices. Or, you can opt for a quiet table in the back and enjoy a wonderful meal along with a great conversation with friends.
Service was horrible. Took about 20 minutes just to be asked for drinks. Then when they finally brought them out didn’t remember half of them. Then anything else we asked for they forgot as well. Not a good experience at all!
Food was good. Dishes weren’t very clean. Pricing is kind of high
Baby back ribs were thoroughly enjoyed by my husband. My prime rib had wonderful flavor, but quite tough with a bountiful supply of cartilage. Our waiter, Dario, was attentive and friendly; he added much to our evening out.
My wife and I enjoyed a quiet dinner here - I had the prime rib, and she had a sirloin. Both were excellent. Wait staff were very courteous, and our reservation worked flawlessly. The prices are more than we prefer to pay, but are definitely not out of line for the quality and the market.
We had a great Date Night, my wife of 48 years. It was the best in many years.
This restaurant seems to really struggle with timely and efficient service. On the weekend before Valentine's Day, it would seem to make sense to have extra Wait staff on hand, or at least experienced Wait staff.
First time dining at this location. Very good experience and the server was extremely prompt, friendly and suggested food. Excellent choices!
The hostess was nice and friendly, but had her back turned when lots of people came in who were not greeted and unsure what to do. Our server was friendly, but kept interrupting business conversations. I really hate "corporate, formulaic service" and that is Stanford's. Upsell appetizers, upsell steak and fish items, upsell dessert, upsell beverages. My upsell halibut Baja tacos were like leather. Overcooked and then hidden with a salsa or something. One of my guests received onion rings instead of French fries that just come with fish and CHIPS. She blamed the expeditor... She put the check down when I was still eating my food!
Ribs were great. Sweet potatoes not so much. Waiter was awesome
We were able to get same day reservations. Wait staff were pleasant. Drinks and appetizers were excellent. Main course was prepared per our request and was very delicious. Great place to eat. Will be back again.
I only went because I had received an email on a Monday saying they had a BOGO lunch for 2 weeks. I went on a Thursday of week 2 and was told after we placed our order that the offer ended on January 31. If I had known that when I ordered I wouldn’t have ordered what I did.
We always enjoy our visits to Stanford's whether it is happy hour or lunch or dinner. The service is normally good, but can be slow at times and we have noticed that the waiters are slow to check on us and see if everything is alright.. But, overall, service and food is good and that is what we go for. We will definitely be back for more.
Busy bar. Service was slow. Food was bland. Very little flavor.
Love it. Consistently good! We go there a couple times a month.
Ordered my favorite Halibut seafood fish &chips. Comparable to Homer, AKs halibut capital. Not disappointed. Ahi Tuna was good as well. Just like those we ate in Honolulu. Not often I gave 5 stars but this place deserved it. Will be back for the filet mignon.
We dine at Stanford's a few times a month. The food is consistently good and the service is always excellent. Our favorite server, Ashley, always remembers our names and favorite things to eat and drink. We always have a good date night at Stanford's.
We eat there all the time. I was never told and had no idea the menu was abbreviated for New Years. The restaurant was not busy at all, so I don't know why there was such a small selection to choose from. And the prices were ridiculous. Over $13 for a cup of soup and tiny dinner salad!! Will never go again for New Years. Very disappointed.
Christmas dinner was delicious. Our waitress was attentive. We truly enjoyed our afternoon dinner at Stanford’s.
NOt sure but 6 1/2 hours later I was sicker than a dog. I had a bagel for breakfast so I know that that didn't make me sick.
Sad the Smoked Chicken Linguini I had tasted really good. Just not coming out.
Made a reservation, arrived and was rudely told it would be 40 minutes longer. Front entrance is unorganized and dirty...no method to the madness. It’s odd for the main entrance to have food on the floor, dirty mats, and car seat holders by the check in area...not on point anymore. Staff isn’t well trained and seems pained to provide service. Cheesecake Factory is better, has more choices, and you’ll probably have to wait longer, but in our case, the wait was just as long. Only do happy hour, the bar service and staff is still wonderful.
The food is always good. I recommend it.
We all wanted a hot buttered rum with our Christmas lunch, sort of our tradition. We were disappointed there was no batter to make these for us. We substituted something else but it was not the same.
The waitress had no patients and was hurrying us, and our food was almost two hour wait after we had ordered. I would not recommend this to a large group, plus the gratuity wasn't worth our service.
This was the worst dining experience my wife and I have ever had. It took 30 minutes to get our appetizer (calamari) and another 30 minutes to get our meal. The restaurant was no more than 50% full. My wife's prime rib (a signature dish) was tough and not properly cooked. My Baby Back BBQ ribs were burned. The server offered to replace the prime rib. After about 15 minutes, the server came back to announce that they no longer (it was almost 7 pm) had any prime rib that was medium and would she take a ribeye steak. My wife agreed and it was another 15 minutes before the steak came and the mashed potatoes with the steak were stone cold. A manager came by between the prime rib and the steak and we explained our experience to that time. She came back later and said that they would comp the meal. We ended up being charged for my beverage (ice tea) and the calamari. So this experience cost us over $30 (we did need to tip the server as the food was not her fault) although we really did not see the server but about once between each item (about 15 minute intervals).
Consistently good service. Obviously, management is doing well with the staff. Mistake on order was corrected very quickly.
It was a cold evening out, would have liked the restaurant a little warmer.
I was taking my sister to a late lunch. I ordered the rib eye steak medium rare. It came out more than medium (a little pink in the very middle), almost medium well. They fired another steak and it came out blue(rare). This, to me, says the kitchen was being spiteful. The manager said he was sorry that I didn’t like my steak. It’s not a matter of like or dislike . It was wrong. He acted like it was my fault. It is the most expensive item on the menu, and they can’t do it right. And it’s my fault. Pathetic.
Stanfords is a solid standby for everyday dining. On the occasion we wanted a quick bite after work. Service was TERRIBLE. SERVER was essentially inept. She didn’t know the menu, had a bad attitude- when trying to push the seasonal wine she renamed it —argued with us when she brought us the wrong wine and meals. Experience was laughable. Hopefully Stanford’s will either. Offer her additional training or she needs a new line of work.
Great meal with family
We loved the food and the service. We ordered off the seasonal menu and fell in love with a few things on there. We had exceptional service and the staff was extremely helpful and kind. Will definitely visit again!
Wife birthday dessert only with our three grown kids. Staff took note I left on Opentable with my reservation and had a candle in my wife’s dessert! Also, staff did a wonderful job accepting an Open Table Cheque from over two years ago that I had earned.
We celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday at the Clackamas Stanford's. The turkey dinner was excellent. Our server Chelsea was wonderful!
