Stanford's - Clackamas Ratings and Reviews
We both ordered the swordfish, as it has been a long time since we have had that. It was overcooked and dry, not with the money charged. Their menu is pretty small, so when we do go, we like to try their specials. This was not the best choice for us unfortunately.
Disappointed unfortunately. We have been to Stanford's countless times, but it's stating to show decline the past several times.
Never forget #Stanford's for all your (true) restaurant needs, & dining out! It never fails to satisfy everyone within any group I've ever been in, no matter how small or large. Great food, decent price, good variety, amazing drinks, great service... All within our neighborhood! Stanford's is a gem ~
Our youngest son is heading off to college. Grandma happened to be visiting us that weekend. We made a reservation for six at Stanford's because it's convenient. It turned out to be a fantastic choice. The menu is easy for everyone to negotiate. The cost is reasonable. The ambience was wonderful. Service was excellent. We just had a very memorable dinner, and it was really better than I expected. Very pleasant surprise.
It was an okay expirience I love stanfords for their baby back ribs and the last time I was here they were unfortunatly barley warm which really takes away from the food, this time I specifically asked the waiter to make sure the ribs come very hot and they were even colder that the last time :/ $26 dollars for ribs that are not to the best as they can be is pretty dissapointing... I like them like they typically serve them piping hot that's what makes you want to come back. As well as the waiter seemed like she just did bare minimum service.
Great food: Hamburger, Grilled Portobello Mushrooms, House Salad
Not so great: Grilled Chicken & Lacinato Kale Salad - did not contain Lacinato Kale, instead curly green Kale was used which was not as tender and therefore difficult to eat.
Will definitely go back but check on whether ingredients are as noted on the menu.
We both ordered $30 entrees and the total bill with tip was over $100. We asked what came with the specials and we were told nothing. No soup no salad no cheesy bread. We were very disappointed. When you spend $100 you expect a little more out of your restaurant. I ordered a Tanqueray Gibson and the bartender said they don't have onions to make a Gibson. Another disappointment. In addition to that our server had no idea what a Gibson was and I had to explain to her how to make one.
Well, I've been going here for a while. Always liked the menu . The last two times I've been very disappointed. The menu has shrunk so much that we were having to decide what we were going to settle for, some food undercooked, some over cooked. I had chicken ceaser salad. Chicken was iced cold and dry, lettuce was warm and wilted😩 We were told the calamari was doughy because the cook never had calamari.
Held a baby shower dinner with 6 close friends, and had a great time. It ended with a bit of a bitter note because a manager dropped the ball regarding payment for my guests and my sister had tombs away from the party for a full 1/2 hour to take care of the situation. Very unhappy because payment was planned right before we arrived over the phone. Great food, even better server, just management didn't follow through to support their people on the floor.
Usually do Stanford's for burgers, but decided to do the chicken tacos instead and I was impressed. Very good guac. and salsa. Plenty to eat. My wife had the Kale and chicken salad and wasn't very impressed. Came with no roll and the dressing had way too much garlic and was too sweet. While she would probably go back to her favorite burger next time, I am interested to try the different versions of the tacos...maybe lobster next!
Awesome lunch! I love the $3 wine special, a glass of Chardonnay or a red blend for 3 bucks! We had the chopped chicken BBQ salad off the lunch menu. The salad is called "half" but it was plenty big! It was around $12 which seems high for a salad but I guess that seems fair, maybe if there was a touch more chicken it'd be nice :))
Disappointed during my last visit to Stanford's. We stopped in for lunch with about an hour and a half to spare before our next apointment. Service was very slow, we waited almost 45 minutes for meals to arrive after placing our order. Had to rush through our meal. Waitress didn't check in often, no water refills.
The food was good, though there was a bit too much fat on my pork chop for my tastes. Additional comment - I ate with a group of different friends the next night at the Lloyd Center Stanfords. The food at the Clackamas Stanfords was better than at Lloyds. Lloyds - the salmon was not hot by the time it reached the table and the potatoes were hard packed (not moist or fluffy and not even warm). Both locations had attentive servers.
We were in Milwaukie with friends and relatives for nearly six weeks and found ourselves going to Stanford's over and over, at least once a week. The food is always good, the service is always excellent, and the restaurant offers a comfortable atmosphere at reasonable prices, with just a little elegance. Some of the dishes, such as the seared Ahi, are wonderful.
Our favorite server is Christie, who takes great care of her guests and looks absolutely great.
We visit this restaurant 2 or 3 times a month, and we always request to sit in Ashley's section (she's our favorite - very professional, friendly and remembers what we like). However, all of the hosts and servers are fantastic. We love the quiet, elegant atmosphere and the food is delicious every time.
Took 30 minutes for someone to bring us water then waiter acted all annoyed we were ready to order. I understand it was Father's day but it was not busy while we were there. They have almost nothing available from kids menu, my husband's fish tacos were so greasy he felt like that was all he ate a pile of grease. My halibut was fine but my fries were soggy.
Sunday brunch - Potatoes would have been excellent, but were way too salty. Eggs were a little overdone. Pepper bacon was really peppery. Cinnamon rolls were just ok. Too much cream cheese glaze & it was lumpy. Excellent berry jam for biscuits, but they were savory biscuits... copious amounts of butter and jam for small biscuits.
The salad lacked any variety in greens and was chopped thin and was mostly iceberg which was lame. With that said the flavors were good and I enjoyed what it was. A few improvements would have made to very good.
Service was basic at best. Our waiter made no suggestions before we ordered nor did he recommend any options for the dishes we ordered. When we finished our entrees he simply dropped the check. Which is a bummer for both his tip and the restaurants sales as we both planned to have coffee and desert ( hence the salads). We would go again but the promise of a good experience became... more of the same ole same ole.
We were one of about 6 people in the entire restaurant on a warm Sunday evening. Even the waitress commented on how slow it was for them. I though that would equate to great and quick service. Nope. Once we ordered it too over 15 minutes for our appetizer to show up. My water glass sat empty for half my meal and our food took forever. And it wasn't a difficult order... tacos and a salad. My order was incorrect-- I had asked for cheeses and dressing on the side. It came with cheese on it and soaked in dressing-- for a $16(!!!!!) salad! My waitress offered to have it remade, but given how long it took initially I really didn't want to wait. Overall, disappointing and poor quality for the price. We don't go out much alone since we have small children.... next time we get the opportunity, it won't be Stanford's.
