The food and service are always outstanding. Atmosphere is great.
food & wine selection was great. decor was classy, warm & inviting. loved the live music playing in the background & piped throughout the restaurant.
Good food. Good service. Will be back.
Our particular server, every time we have him, we have to ask what the specials are or he won’t tell us and have to wait much longer for anything compared to other servers... which sucks because he is always so nice!! My salad plate came with the bottom of the plate covered in god knows what, and we asked for 4 desserts to go and only got 3. We were only charged for 3, so one of us had to share- no biggie. The noise level is really starting to increase in this place. I honestly suggest replacing the drum lights with acoustic fixtures which oddly enough I can help you with. It is needed badly. My grandparents who can’t hear well went here for their first time a few weeks ago and complained about how loud it was. You can’t hear the servers well at all. The food was wonderful as always, but we were there for 2 hours!
As a friend of mine was in town, three of us got together for Sunday brunch. My friends' food - the blueberry pancakes and the pecan French toast - looked WONDERFUL and tasted great. My food - a spinach and mushroom omelette and turkey bacon - failed on both fronts. Neither the omelette or the bacon had any taste at all, and the omelette was dry, almost as if real eggs hadn't been used. I enjoyed my bellini, and was happy to get one free with my meal, but my food was disappointing at best.
Great food and service
I was celebrating my birthday and had rave reviews for this place. I can definitely see why they received excellent ratings from my friends. Dinner was fantastic!
Great as always
We met another couple at 6:00 on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was already super busy and seemed inordinately louder than what we normally encountered on our several previous visits which made conversation very difficult. The noise, however, did not impact our very enjoyable meal. Three of us ordered the “smaller” cut of prime rib which was more than enough to fill us up and the other person ordered ribs which she said were very tender and cooked to perfection. We find the prime rib to be tastier here than what we get at famous high-end steak houses around town. The accompanying vegetables were fresh and crisp and the red skin mashed potatoes were creamy and seasoned just right without being salty. Service was excellent. One person in our party had a food allergy and our server couldn’t have been more accommodating in finding out the ingredients in some of the foods and making alternative recommendations to suit his diet. We have been dining here since it opened and it has become our “go to” restaurant for a pleasant evening out.
Stopped in for an early dinner with my family and had an AMAZING time! The food was excellent but our service was impeccable. From the second we walked through the door until the moment we took our last bite, we experienced caring and attentive staff. Our server Steve was outstanding. He was knowledgeable about the menu and offered his opinion when we needed it. He was honest and funny, a completely genuine person. Thanks Steve for making our dining experience great!
This place was recommended by my daughter’s friend and I have already recommend it to a friend of mines.
Very good service and food, enjoy the comfy booths and fireplace in the winter. Love the jazz band by the bar and that the music stays by the bar and you can hear your friends talking in the dining area.
The ribs are really great . The rattle snake pasta,is good also .
Great choice for girls dinner.
As a couple who works in the restaurant industry, it was so awesome for my boyfriend and I to have a Friday night off. I was recommended to try Stanford Grill and was excited to book a 6:45 pm reservation Thursday night via OpenTable. We arrived early to get a drink at the bar while Happy Hour was still happening. Not only were we were greeted quickly, but three other bartenders asked us if we had been served after we placed our order. 👌🏼 We even commented on the excellent service while at the bar. I was notified via text message that our table was ready. We both opted to get the prime rib for dinner (SO yum) and the cornbread and coconut shrimp (YUM) to start. We were a little thrown off by the jalapeño in the cornbread. Although it was surprisingly delicious, we probably wouldn’t have ordered it if we had known that. We got a free dessert compliments of OpenTable (thank you!) and tried the chocolate layered dessert. It was huge and enough for an army (jk like 4 or 5 people, though. Seriously this thing was huge!) My boyfriend got a scoop of the House flavor ice cream of the day which was Pistachio and an Espresso martini. All of it was above and beyond. I highly recommend to give this a place a try instead of the regular chain steakhouse.
Great food, great service and great ambiance. We celebrated my father-in-law's 80th birthday. The restaurant served the cake we brought and took such good care of us. We loved the appetizers of fried green tomatoes and calamari. Everyone enjoyed their main courses (steak, mahi-mahi, salmon, mushroom meatloaf) and the kids loved the lobster Mac and cheese. Even the vanilla ice-cream was so yummy. They had a nice wine list and prices are reasonable. Our server was very courteous. We did not feel rushed. The live band playing jazz in the background was great and not too noisy.
Wonderful evening with lively atmosphere. The noise level would occasionally rise to the level of forcing me to feel like I had to shout across the table to my dinning companion, but that's to be expected in any restaurant in Columbia on a Friday night. We both had the Salmon special w/butter lemon sauce which was moist and delicious. We love this place because the food is good and the cocktails never disappoint. I would highly recommend.
Great atmosphere, service and food. Our new go to place!
We enjoyed our dinner. Food was good and the staff was very friendly! We were celebrating my husband's birthday and they gave us a nice dessert.
Great atmosphere and food selections for early dinner!
Excellent restaurant for dates and special occasions. I had a glass of champagne, complete with a lobster Mac and cheese appetizer (best lobster Mac and cheese of my life) and the prime rib entree, cooked medium. The prime rib was the perfect ... tender and juicy - only complaint is I would’ve liked more horseradish sauce because it was so good. The jazz piano player and bass player, Akon with the dim lighting, made this restaurant one of my all time favorites.
The food was good. But my business guest and I waited for almost an hour for the food to come out. It should have been an one-hour business lunch. It turned out to be a two hour lunch with most of it waiting for food to come out. The waiter didn’t check in on us. After waited for a while, we decided to ask him instead.
We enjoyed the food.
Staff was very courteous and checked on us regularly. The food was excellent, prepared exactly as requested.
Always great service. Thanks
We were travelling and stayed in Columbia. The Stanford Grill was highly recommended. We were not disappointed.
Excellent restaurant. Would highly recommend people to go.
The only thing that detracts from the dining experience at this restaurant is the lack of a waiting area. Everyone with and without reservations was crammed into a tight space between the door and the hostess station. It was a very busy Saturday night, but it did appear the restaurant was overbooked.
However, once seated, service was efficient and courteous. The prime rib was excellent and the rotisserie chicken very good. We will pay a return visit on a different day of the week.
Great time as always at the Stanford Grill in Columbia. Food and drink were excellent and the service was the best!
Service was a bit overzealous. Lunch entree salads for two, glass of wine and cup of coffee apiece. Lunch was $98! Yikes! Food was above average as was ambiance but with the price, I won’t we back soon.
Piano playing added a nice touch but was a drop too loud which made it hard to hear each other. Food was very good and we got free desserts bc we were staying at the Marriott next door. Just had to show our room keys. Desserts were delicious! Bread pudding out of this world!! Salads were good but could've had a little more chicken, steak and tuna. Our waitress Josephina, was excellent. Not only was she attentive to whatever we needed, she had a great personality which added to the enjoyment of our evening.
I like going to Standford Grill. The only down side is the noise level. It was so loud that the members of my party could not hear each other.
The food here is always good. Portions tend to be large, so it is easy to over-eat. We all had salads and appetizers, and they were delicious.
As usual, Stanford Grill lived up to our standards. We have never had a bad meal there and the Staff is amazingly efficient, professional and friendly. We both had chicken pot pies for lunch and they were very good. There was a little more pepper in them this time (I've had this meal many times before).
I would return to Stanford Grill and have already told all of our friends about it...and every has agreed it is one of there favorite "go to" restaurants in Columbia!
I go to Stanford Grill a few times a year and the meal never disappoints. It is a bit pricey for a salad, but the food is good with a nice size portion. Friendly staff and always a busy restaurant.
I can't say enough good things about this place. Great God, Great Service, Great Atmosphere. A little pricy, but worth it.
Food and service are always step above what you hope they will be!
Have yet to be disappointed in an occasion spent here.
Birthday Dinner and dessert were simply amazing. The Key Lime Pie was perfection. I accidentally left my gift bag at the restaurant and Stanford Grill immediately called to let me know. I went to pick it up the next day and everything was in the bag, even the $100 in cash. I will definitely be returning soon.
They received my reservation and accommodated my seating request with ease. The staff kept the glasses full. We ordered the spinach dip... temperature on the food could have been better. Otherwise, the chicken pot pie was delicious, NY Strip was cooked right and the salmon was good as well.
