Usually have a great dinner at Stanford but yesterday I ordered a filet mignon which was extremely tough and chewy; nothing like any filet I have ever eaten. Management said it must have been the cut?! They offered to replace it but I didn’t want to stay longer. I didn’t eat it but got to pay for it though

With out a doubt one of the best restaurant in Montgomery County if not the BEST! As expected the dining was magnificent. My steak was fantastic and my wife’s trout was excellent. Thanks to all for a wonderful evening.

Stanford Grille poses as an upscale restaurant but it is not except in the price. Its food is very average (dark meat in chicken pot pie). Service is not good. Lunch and dinner menues are the same which makes for a particularly overpriced lunch.

The secret during prom and graduation season is to go at 3:30 - it was perfect timing for a Saturday. Music level was low enough to talk especially with an 89 and 91 year old. However, is it go busier around 5:15pm the music got louder and there was more hustle and bustle. Lovely place in general

Our server Kai was outstanding!! Very attentive and informative. The temperature in the restaurant was warm, I was informed the AC was not on. The appetizer, entrees and cocktails were very good. Oh, and the Key lime pie was delicious!

Enjoyed our Mother's Day early dinner very much. Food is delicious and service excellent - even drinks from the bar came out much quicker than expected. Unfortunate that the outdoor seating abuts the road but on a nice enough day, the traffic didn't phase us. Very pleased overall.

We love Stanford Grill. The food is always excellent including the daily specials. The staff is also great with a bunch of fun and experienced bartenders and wait staff. And, when it's nice outside, their patios are wonderful.

We stopped by the Stanford to have Mother’s Day brunch and although they didn’t have a separate menu as they have had in the past, they did have breakfast items available. After a couple of mimosas, we enjoyed their delicious shrimp cocktail. We both had the eggs Benedict and were full when finished. Service was stellar and the meal met the standard set for this excellent restaurant. We will continue to patronize the establishment.

Great food in the server was excellent. Only issue is that it’s a rather noisy place. Definitely would recommend the spring rolls and the sushi is appetizers. These are generally good to share, as the portions are very generous.

heard good things about this place. Tyler,our server, was attentive and without being intrusive we ordered the prime rib, which came out exactly how we ordered, which for some places is hard. It was tender and well seasoned and came with both horseradish and aus jus. Had enough room for key lime pie…this is a must! go here of you want a good meal with a nice atmosphere

I am a faithful patron of Stanford Grille, at both the Rockville and Columbia locations. This review is specifically for the Rockville restaurant. We were seated and waited 15-20 minutes before a server welcomed us. I will withhold her name. We each ordered a beer and it took another 20 minutes to arrive at your table. The beer was only moderately chilled, a big disappointment. We both ordered the shrimp cocktail appetizer, we were served just one and needed to reorder. We both ordered steak with french fries and spinach. The stakes were good to temperature but were barely warm when served. The fries were cold and hard. I suspect our dinners “sat” for awhile before being served at our table. The portion size of the side items is shrinking noticeably. This review is not singling out one “bad night,” but a general overall decline in the restaurant’s food and service quality over the past few months. Please return Standard Grille back to the elite venue it was for years.

Lunch with dear friends and their one year old baby. The service and food were the very best. Salad, burger, chicken park all perfect. Our server was very attentive, yet not intrusive. The location and parking are very convenient. I cannot wait to return.

Stanford Grill is the perfect venue for a business or personal occasion meal. Service is on point with just the right amount of intervention. The menu is varied enough to fit most tastes, just stay away from the tabouleh if you like a traditional salad. There is also a nice patio and bar area for before or after your meal if you want to continue the celebration along with an area that may be curtained for private dining events. Their filet is perfect.

Excellent meal. We had Branzino, which was especially good, and trout. Both served with mashed potatoes and sautéd spinach. The desserts were also fabulous (Key lime pie, Tres Leche cake, and ice cream sundae.) Service was very good and prices reasonable. All very good. The noise level in the front part of the restaurant was very high, but we were fortunate to be seated in the back where it was quiet. Water spilled on their marble/ ceramic flooring going to the restrooms and then running the length of the restaurant was hazardous and a dinner companion slipped. (Not sure where all the water was coming from?!) A liability they need to consider. Carpet runners would help. Would definitely return (knowing to watch my step.)
