Appelonia was our server and she was extremely professional, jovial, and very knowledgeable of the dishes and how they are prepared. She is attentive without hovering. Our group very much enjoyed our dining experience. The only thing missing was Chef Pyles, but it WAS a Monday after all. Will definitely recommend Stampede 66.
This was our first time here. Great food, service and staff. We’d definitely go back and recommend to friends.
Just an awesome place to eat dinner. The Sunday Dinner special was GREAT and a very good value.
It was great, the food and service were excellent.
Great Texas/Southwestern décor. Heavy wood, leather, horns, etc. Really good Tex-Mex food. Good start to meal with dip trio. Pimento chees and black dip were good: guacamole was ok. Brisket tacos and crispy oyster tacos were outstanding. Wife is a salmon lover and she said it was great. Companion said the chicken fried steak was amazing. It sure looked amazing. Really good bar area
We thoroughly enjoyed this place! Our server was fantastic, the food was very good and the atmosphere pretty cool- very Texan. If you want something fun get the Margarita made table side with Liquid Nitrogen!
This was one of the best dining experiences we have had anywhere! The food was innovative, delicious and beautifully presented. The ambiance was upscale, eclectic Texan with a slightly glamorous feel that made for a pleasant and quiet dining experience. The staff was awesome, knowledgeable about our needs and the menu and very attentive. Stampede 66 provides an exceptional dining experience. We will definitely return there and have already recommended this restaurant to family and friends.
The food was exceptional: gourmet Southern Southwest. Live music was very appropriate. The decor is great. We had a very enjoyable family meal.
We had a guest in from out of town and wanted to give her a Texas dining experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal. I loved the extra additions to the menu items such as Southwestern Caesar, Spiced pecans, bread and butter pickles. Our friend from out of town had the honey-fried chicken which came with huge tater tots made from mashed potatoes. I had the barbecue brisket which was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant for an enjoyable evening and dining experience.
Three times you made me a steak and never got it right. Very sad.
It was so great! Very accommodating and super friendly :) love the atmosphere and the flavors were amazing
A favorite of ours. We had friends in from Houston and took them to Stampede 66. The frozen margaritas prepared at the table was very entertaining and delicious. Our server was very attentive yet nonintrusive. I had the striped bass which was awesome. The meatloaf and brisket were very much enjoyed as well. The Texas theme makes the dining experience really fun, especially to show off to friends who've never dined there. five stars all around.
Food was great-temperature of food was not the best but service and atmosphere was good.
Food was so-so except Brussels sprouts which were very good. Server left our champagne on table to get warm while prior diners Evian sat in an ice bucket next to us. Food came out so fast that it seemed that it had been prepared before we got there. Overall disappointing.
no coors light, guac was way too spicy couldn't enjoy it. liked all the sw artsy stuff
The food was pretty bad. Everything we ordered was dry
Great accommodation for a large business dinner. Server was helpful and attentive. Out of town guests loved the ambiance.
The music was amazing, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere is beautiful.
However, for the second visit in a row, the service was good but not great. And this time, the service was certainly not warm. Our server seemed less than excited to be there, which is somewhat understandable since we went for dinner on Easter. Since it was Easter, our family and the family we dined with had our children with us. She was most unaccommodating to trying to help us find an option our kids might enjoy.
Also, the restaurant ran out of two items on the menu we tried to order and didn't have any options to replace them. One of the individuals in our party did not get the dessert that came with his meal, but rather they replaced it with a dessert we ordered for the kids, meaning the kids got a really small portion and the adult who ordered the meal didn't get any dessert.
I'm willing to try it again, since the food is really good, but I'm hoping they better train their staff (problem last visit) and hire friendlier, more outgoing wait staff (problem this visit).
We were there four the special Easter menu which was an audacious sample of comfort food with a unique spin - for example, deviled eggs with unusual peppers and smacked oil. Really unique cuisine beautifully prepared and plated. And served with aplomb despite the Easter crowd.
Fun brunch Easter Sunday
The food was unique Texas blend, the atmosphere was very laid back (huge plus), our server was beyond wonderful. It was definitely an experience for the experience.
The food was amazing. The atmosphere is very cool and had that authentic Texas kind of feel. Only down side was that our server, however nice, wasn’t all that attentive and was hard to find when we needed our wine and cocktails refilled. I’d definitely go back again but just have a bit higher service expectations when paying premium prices for dinner.
I'd heard great things about Stephan Pyles, so was truly looking forward to the experience of dining at Stampede 66, but was sorely disappointed by our visit on a Sunday evening. The staff was disinterested in making recommendations, simply offering that "everything is good," which did not turn out to be true. The restaurant features a prix fixe Sunday supper menu, but also has a la carte offerings, and our party did a bit of both. Regrettably, it was hit or miss, but mostly miss as the meats (brisket, salmon, and chicken) were on the dry side. The live band in the restaurant was doing its best to keep things lively, but the place was basically a morgue. I doubt that I'd come back and suspect that the owners seem to have shifted their focus to a newer restauarant in town.
The service was lack luster at best. It just seemed like the whole staff was sleep walking through the evening. I'll chalk it up to "allergies."
That fried chicken was gross, very bland.i would of definitely would have been satisfied with Popeyes.frfr lol...
This is a MUST visit restaurant. The decor, the food, and the service are all AWESOME! I am NEVER disappointed when I dine at Stampede 66.
We had a great time and the food was absolutely amazing. We left that night very satisfied and very happy. The ambiance, staff, and experience were very enjoyable.
Good às always! Took an out-of-Towner. They loved it!
Daughter committed to University of Hawaii. It was on the reservation but no one acknowledged it.
The honey fried chicken, oh lord.
It was a good meeting place on short notice for our large group in town for a conference; especially since it was St. Patrick's Day.
We stopped by Stampede 66 before the TexasTech basketball game. The food was delicious- especially the brisket tacos! Beautifully decorated and really interesting and unique T dad cuisine and varying price points! Something for everyone! We would recommend and plan on returning!!!
I made reservations at Stampede 66 for my 32nd BIRTHDAY and I can honestly say this was by far one of the best dinning experience I've had. From the moment I arrived the people at Stampede 66 were being extremely nice.... I would like to thank Lizzie for the amazing service you were so friendly....Porsha thank you for the margarita....omg those were good!!! The food was also good....I had the buffalo chicken fried steak with the loaded mashed and Mac and cheese all I can see is mmmmm mmmmm good...lol...the food that I had did have a little spice kick however that is what I enjoy so if you don't please be mindful of it.......Thank you again to everyone at Stampede 66 for helping me celebrate my birthday 3.16.2018
Great meal and super cool vibe. Would recommend in the future
We had a great dinner. Food was very good and the service amazing. Oscar was awesome.
It was my husbands birthday and we had a wonderful time! Everything our server recommended was AMAZINGLY DELICOUS ! Drinks were delicous! Yes, you have to go!
Everything was great except the time we have to wait for the waiter to take our order. We did tell her to give us a minute but not 10-15 minutes
We enjoyed our visit this past weekend. Food was great and our server was adorable. The frozen prickly pear margarita was AmAzInG!!! You must try it. The brisket melts in your mouth. Valet park (complimentary), it's much easier. We will return.
We went here as part of my sister's bachelorette party. The menu had a good mixture of food options & prices and they were able to accommodate a gluten-free request. Note, a lot of the food has a bit of spice to it.
Actually quite baffled at how lackluster our experience was tonight at Stampede 66. We are long-time Pyles' fans, particularly of Flora Street. That said, our "Sunday Supper" was not remotely close to the level of dining we've come to expect from a chef of this caliber. At $38 per person, the Sunday Supper sampling seemed like a bargain. Deviled eggs were almost flavorless except for too much heat. Chorizo tacos tasted somehow "gamy." Pork was ok - about the level of Dickey's. Fried chicken had great texture and a nice sweetness, but was ruined by an overly salty brine. Shrimp were well-seasoned, but slightly under-cooked. Chocolate desert was literally like something from the Whole Foods cookie bar. Creme brulee was... actually amazing. One of the best ever. But that was it. The server was nice, but way out of his league for such a nice restaurant. What appeared to be a manager approached our table - I assumed to ask how we were doing - then oddly turned away from us and never spoke. Awkward... The finish-out is very well done. Everything else was just embarrassing.
