Stampede 66 Ratings and Reviews
We came here to celebrate 2 birthdays & it was wonderful. Great friendly service, amazing food & drinks, & just a good time all around. They even gave us a slice of their featured cake for free because of the birthdays. We have been there before & love it more & more every time we go. You have to get the prickly pear margarita made table-side with liquid nitrogen! & the Shiner Bock bread. Wonderful Texas atmosphere makes you feel right at home but better!
Elizabeth our waitress was outstanding- We dined on New Years Eve on a busy night, her and staff were solid- Was unaware of set menu when we made reservations but options were good- Food was average ( Ribeye was very fatty, way more than a great Ribeye cut ) ( Pork Belly tacos were bland and taco shells were almost stale tasting ) ( On a bright note, the honey chicken was excellent ). We will return, food has been terrific on previous visits
Very disappointing experience. ...service was very off....they served us someone else's meals then apologized and removed them and placed them on the table next to ours, if I was the other diners I would not have accepted those plates........my cowboy ribeye had to be sent back twice due to undercooked and unable to cut due to gristle and fat let alone it was served on top of beans in a bowl and when you try to sliced the beans allow the steak to roll...the other dish of Buffalo Country Fried Steak had a similar presentation problem of served in a bowl making cutting and eating difficult....2 of our 5 diners had the Sunday dinner which included dessert but the 3 others who had ordered ala care where never even given the option to order dessert and eat with the others at our table...beautiful restaurant that has poorly trained service staff and food quality and presentations are way below expected levels of quality for a Stephen Pyles operation..they did not charge us for the poor quality ribeye but Ican not recommend this place
Stampede 66 is my favorite restaurant and we have been many times but this was the first time the experience was just mediocre. I brag about how the menu is creative and unique combinations and this was the first time even the food was just ok. No one really commented on the food and 4 of the 6 guests were dining for the first time.
I will definitely try again but this visit was disappointing.
Fabulous ambiance, Fabulous service, Fabulous food!
We arrived approx 30 minute before our 7:45 diner reservation. Valet was quick to get our car checked in and the host was professional and very pleasant.
The restaurant had a nice open space feel with soft lighting and music providing a sense of intimacy perfect for dining.
We started our evening and ended up spending our evening at the bar where Ian provided perfect drinks and top shelf service mix with his amazing charm and personality. We asked him to let the host know that we be dining at his bar and that they should no longer hold our table.
Ian then hit the ball out of the park with his suggested menu items!
Diner and the entire evening was one we are not soon to forget.
We will be back to Stampede 66 soon with friends!
What a treat! We were in Dallas for a day, and as a foodie I did a lot of research on local chefs before deciding on Stampede for our dinner. Our waitress could not have been nicer, explaining everything and making some stellar recommendations. We ordered three starters to share - all of which are not to be missed if you can: the Shiner Bock beer bread (served in the can!), the Hell's eggs (spicy) and the homemade mixed pickles. I treated myself to the tenderloin, which fell apart like butter, but my husband's choice of the sous vide hangar steak won the night - able to be cut with just a fork. Simply outstanding. My adventurous eater of a son went for the striped bass and cleaned his plate.
From start to finish, a fabulous meal with great atmosphere and attentive service.
SP's take on traditional Southern Fair was wonderful again! I took my wife here for her birthday and we really enjoyed it. The wife ordered a Striped Bass, on top of a Grits griddle cake, topped off with some crab meat. Best bass we both have ever tasted! I ordered the 24 hour sous-vid Hanger Steak. It came with a elote like corn side and some pickled green beans that were then fried. Steak was tender as can be with wonderful flavor. Desert was a pecan pie. Pie wasn't exactly what we expected, but wasn't bad. We would go again. Drinks were some good red wine and the Western Sazerac. Very good!
We arrived at 5:15pm (15 min early) and were told to wait at the bar since the restaurant wasn’t open until 5:30pm.
We were seated shortly after 5:30pm after I returned to the host stand to request seating. We then waited quite a while for a waitress to come over. Once she arrived our service was decent but this whole place is now very ‘low energy’ and seems like it’s getting ready to shut down.
Don’t think we would be back.
I took my husband for his birthday and we had the best dinner! The moment you walk into the restaurant you feel like you are really experiencing Texas. The menu is so interesting and has so many different options every one can find something perfect for them. They even brought out a birthday dessert free of charge! I would definitely recommend Stampede 66 for anyone wanting a unique and delicious dining experience.
