Prominently situated in the heart of Coronado’s iconic village, Stake is a modern take on the classic chophouse of decades past with a chef-driven menu sourced with only the highest quality ingredients available.

Chef de Cuisine Sergio Jimenez’s menu includes a number of share-friendly filets, chops, Japanese A5 wagyu, and dry-aged prime steak, an expansive selection of seafood appetizers including raw oysters from both East & West coasts, Alaskan King Crab, ice-cold shellfish & crudo, healthy salads, and rustic, wood fire-roasted side dishes, in addition to a handful of freshly composed seasonal seafood entrées.

If you want to experience some of Coronado’s fine dining, come to the Stake House. Amazing food, service is 10+, excellent choice if you want a unique experience.

We started with the mussels and they were the best we have ever eaten. We have ordered mussels at numerous locations and these were fantastic, plump, and tender,almost melted in your mouth. My wife had the Cioppino and it was great, I had the King Crab which was very good. The portion were pretty good, not huge but decent. We finished our evening with carrot cake for me and cheesecake for my wife, both were very good. The evening was pricey but as some one once said “you get what you pay for.” My wife’s only complaint was that she was not provided a spoon to eat her Cioppino with.

We’re Nebraska steak people, but our steaks last night were some of the most tastiest & flavorful we’ve ever had. Our waiter Kris was excellent.
Entire staff friendly & courteous. Will definitely return.

Excellent restaurant!! It's the best steakhouse in San Diego by far!! I had lamb and ordered a couple sides of vegetables. My husband had the steak and mashed potatoes. Everything was perfect including the drinks!! We highly recommend it!!! They were very accommodating and can't wait to return!!

The New Years Eve menu was superb. I'm not a fan of oysters, but the presentation with the dry ice fog was very impressive. The prawns in my appetizer were seasoned perfectly and the Wagyu filet entree was so tender. Stake's version of Twix for dessert was far more elaborate and much more decadent than the packaged bar. I opted for a rye Old Fashioned cocktail, a Chardonnay with the prawns and a Zinfandel with the filet and all were perfect complements. The icing on the cake was having our favorite Sigi as our server. An absolutely delightful way to celebrate New Year's Eve. Since our days of tripping the light fantastic at parties are in the past for us, the quiet, elegant ambience suited us just fine.

Great restaurant with a more trendy international feel to it than an old school heavy wood steakhouse. Huge wine list and great steaks. It’s pricey, but the food and service proved it was well worth it. The oysters were a flavorful start and ending with the carrot cake also did not disappoint. We would highly recommend it.

Expensive but good. Always hate every little extra is charged extra. Offer a meal. The baked potato was cold. Halibut fabulous. Kale salad excellent. Nice place to eat. The service was outstanding

As if people has food issues like gluten free before you put bread on the plate. No offer of gluten free breads either.

A wonderful evening visiting from Maui. Just the 2 of us. Great friendly service by Dallas. GM Patrick Murphy was very helpful and very responsive to our individual needs, Erica was delightful. Diana and the young bread man were nice, too. We really enjoyed the 5 course Stake Experience, which changes every night. We thought it was going to be a tasting menu, with petite portions. But it was a lot of food, generous portions, too much for us. Wish we lived here so could go box up the leftovers. Duck breast. The sides (potatoes au gratin, AMAZING Brussels sprouts and we don't even like Brussels sprouts, honey baked Butternut squash) were standouts. So was the seafood: spectacular chilled shellfish platter, Maine Diver scallops with pumpkin soup. And then there was the steak: New York, Australian Picanha, Japanese Wagyu. On top of this, great desserts: warm Blueberry Bread Pudding with white chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. Erica lovingly packed up Carrot Cake tower for our breakfast the next morning.

Food was great, nice atmosphere. Only 2 things, we had the Stake Experience and unfortunately didn’t get to select our steak knives due to too many other guests using them, so that was a bummer as it was one of the reasons we selected the experience. There were 2 other guests in our section which appeared to be regulars of the restaurant and were very clearly getting special treatment. Which is not the end of the world, but it felt a little uncomfortable as we were also dining with a ticket totaling $600 but it felt we weren’t as important as the other couple. Overall the food was fantastic, and the service wouldn’t have been as big of a deal if it weren’t so obvious the table next to us was getting preferential treatment

Worst steak dinner in many years. I selected a $ 95 steak and it came raw instead of medium rare. They try to fix may be with a deep fryer. Before this, the appetizer', tiger prawns, were regular prawns probably old and really dehydrated, very dry.

Very expensive bad experience. This restaurant is not longer what used to be. I have had dinner here many times, but it was a terrible experience today.

Beware if you come here.
