Stage Left Steak
As usual Mark and Francis presented another great Valentines night dining experience for their patrons. An extra touch was being served by one of our favorite ex-waiters named Meghan who was called in to help with the overflow. Great seeing her . Rachel the bartender also added to the night . Really feel at home when my wife and I dine here or stop in for drinks .Great professional and friendly staff and ownership. Highly recommend!!!!
Had an amazing valentines day dinner! Strip steak and Flat Iron steak were delicious and savory. The mash was just as good! Classy quiet vibe!! Cant wait 2 go back!
This restaurant is a real gem. The food was fabulous. We shared th charcuterie plate with jambon and a selection of cheeses - all delicious. The steak tasting on the heated salt block was amazing. Two of us shared it and it was plenty. Service was sufficiently attentive and not at all rushed. In fact, we were there for a business dinner and stayed for 3 hours. The bartender had never heard of the drink I ordered but after I explained it she made it perfectly. This is not an inexpensive restaurant but it rivals anywhere I’ve eaten in NYC. I’ll be back.
only disappointed with wait time. but they made up for it with comped apps and dessert.
My wife and I returned after a long hiatus. We brought our good friends. Setting, service and atmosphere remained first rate. The food, however, was uniformly uneven regardless of the course -
half very good, half average. Given the sticker shock at the end of the evening, we are unlikely to return.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere!
We chose Stage Left for a corporate team meeting and the food and service were OUTSTANDING. We all ordered steak and it was cooked perfectly to our different requested temperatures. The server provided excellent recommendations for sides and sauces that complimented our meal well and the wine was also excellent. The owner also came to visit our table to check on our experience, which we appreciated. We went on a Wednesday night so it was not crowded. The atmosphere is cozy and we really enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be back!
My husband ordered a striped steak and was not pleased with meat.
Wonderful service and food. Very attentive to every part of our experience. It got a little loud at one point because we had a couple of rambunctious tables near us but it was still a great evening!!
Food was amazing, service outstanding. Got a little crowded and noisy but that’s expected at a place that is packed. Overall 5* amazing!!!
Great steak! Crab cake was excellent! Great bar staff and wines
Everything was perfect!
We love it here. Never had a bad experience. The food is terrific, and they have amazing beers and wines to match.
Another overpriced steakhouse w a nice website and menu that makes you feel like what you’re spending is worth it. Got lamb chops and scallops - both very underwhelming and lukewarm. Asked for drinks over and over until they finally came. Creme Brûlée looked like it had been torched for an hour. I don’t get these places and how they operate like this and expect you to pay top $. AVOID
As a Rutgers alum, returning to the area after many years was delightful ! Dining at Stage Left Steak was even more so. All aspects of our (party of 4) dinner was outstanding.... the service, the wine, the ambiance and the food, including seafood. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Wonderful as usual!
Overall a wonderful experience! The food was delicious although the service was a bit slow at first. Once we told our server we needed to get to a show they definitely stepped it up. The atmosphere is great and makes for a perfect date night.
The meal was amazing. AND the dessert was phenomenal. Ice cream sundae in a salt bowl. What could get better.
Amazing steak! The burger is as good as everyone says. Fabulous wine list. Great service. Worth the price- think upscale food and worth every bite!
Staff was attentive but not bothersome. We enjoyed a relaxing, unhurried dinner after a show. Food was wonderful. Steak was cooked exactly as I requested. Would definitely come again.
-Yum and a great night, great menu choices, great wine, beautiful atmosphere. thanks.
I came in for wife’s bday. Dinner and food was amazing...Service was good but disappointed even though I noted when I booked it was my wife’s bday, no one said anything. I will def go again even so
Or waiter John was awesome! We were even given the option to go out to watch fireworks at midnight efore choosing dessert. Food was delicious!
New Year’s Eve dinner !!!!!First they service is excellent , they make yah feel like # 1 !! The food AWESOME HAD the wagyu flat iron WOW WEEEE!! Pricey but worth it !! 🥩
The food was fabulous! The service was fabulous! We were there on New Year's Eve and the entire experience was wonderful!
It was a quiet night but the staff was wonderful and attentive. I accidentally broke a wine glass when I first sat down and they were so nice. There was a problem with the fire alarm going off that they tried to get fixed as quick as possible. It was an electrical issue. They offered free drinks to all guests while the alarm went off and dessert. We had somewhere else to be and were full from the delicious meal so we skipped dessert and they gave us $40 off our next meal there. We will be visiting again.
The food was delicious. Nice place with knowledgeable staff. Look forward to returning.
The food was as expected for the amount of money you knew you are going to spend at a high-end Steak House but I didn't think it was worth the money spent (5 ppl for $600.00). The wait staff were unfriendly and not attentive during a non-busy time. I would definitely try another restaurant in New Brunswick - there seemed to be lots to choose from, I just didn't get lucky with my choice.
Perfect spot to catch dinner before or after a show at the State Theater. Food choices were excellent and the staff was great.
Meals were EXCELLENT! Unfortunately service was very slow and we had theatre tickets.
Great Special Dinner.
The wife and I decided to treat ourselves this holiday season. A return trip to Stage Left Steak, just the 2 of us. We had the beef tartar, a spinach salad and some bacon to start. All were very tasty, well seasoned and presented nicely. The waiter recommended a Brooklyn cocktail for me, as a requested alternative to the Manhattan or old fashioned that I usually get. It was very nice. For dinner, it was the Wagyu tasting (salt block), I went with the surf and turf special (bone-in fillet and crab cake). Super tasty, very well presented. Don't be afraid to request a new salt block if the first one stops sizzling. Asparagus and smashed fingerlings were nice too. Lava Cake for dessert, done right.
Service was amazing. What we expect at a fine dining establishment for sure. Friendly and professional. They seemed to know when we had questions/requests and when we were good.
This is the second time I've been to SLS and unfortunately both have been disappointing. My bone in filet was not cooked properly at all. Has to use my daughter salt rock to finish cooking it.
Food and drinks were outstanding, as well as the service. Although a little over priced, but not a deal breaker. I would recommend the wine room for a quiet romantic date night dinner.
Steaks were very good and the service was also very good. The one drawback was the sides were extra. Sides were ordered by three of the four of us. Sides did not come with the steaks. After several minutes asked where sides were. Server went back to check and said they would be right out. Waited and after the steaks were almost consumed, we cancelled the sides. They need to be more aware of the total order.
The broccoli was over cooked
Ordered shrimp cocktail, tuna tartare appy and petite filet mignons for main with a side of potatoes au gratin. Steak was cooked perfect and the potatoes are to die for! Highly recommend to try the potatoes even if you are dieting, it is a splurge that can be shared because they are so rich. I rated the value lower as others interpretation of value may only consider the cost and being an a la carte menu it can get pricy.
I will definitely come back here. The food was amazing. I had filet mignon and it was cooked perfectly. We were there for our Anniversary dinner. When dessert came out they had made it so special for us. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant.
The gentleman that was assisting us the wine was very knowledgeable. We only had 1 problem with our meal . The lobster was kind of tough. But overall the meal was great but it was definitely pricey.
good food just a little dissapointede that a steak resturant ran out of porterhouse steak when that is what they spealize in. Also a little overpriced.
We went for Thanksgiving But ordered off the regular menu. It was a great night out. I’d highly recommend any of the dry aged steaks and the molten chocolate cake! Good food, great service, nice ambiance. Pricey but worth it!
