Stage Left Steak Ratings and Reviews
Everything we ate was delicious, and my husband called the lamb chops "an experience". The scallops and crawfish were perfect, and the truffle fries were a treat. It took a bit of time to get through our meal and it seemed like other tables were having a similar experience, but its possible they try to get the theater goers out the door first so plan accordingly or avoid saturday evenings if you don't have a ton of time to spend. The food is worth the wait though, and I hope they get a little more creative with their food because I'm sure we will be back.
As always Stage Left impressed us once again. My wife and I went out on a rare date night and we very satisfied with the food and service. The Tomahawk Steak was as delicious as it was beautiful. When you have a restaurant as consistently good as Stage Left you will never be let down. The service from our waiter Matt was great. Thank you again to all your staff.
Sincerely Mr. & Mrs. Weinmiller
P.S. See again you soon.
Food was very good, as usual. We were a little disappointed with the dinner rolls and the bun used for the burger. Could have been fresher or perhaps it was the type of roll used. Not as good as one would expect. Service was excellent as usual. Overall we love this place.
Now known as Stage Left Steak, you will find the same quality, service and dining experience as the formerly named Stage Left.
We started with crab cake, escargot bone marrow with garlic and brioche, jamon and Ibérico de Bellota ribs which were exceptional and we could have left after this course as well satiated customers. But who would ever leave after having read the interesting and eclectic list of entrees? Although fairly modest in size, the menu covered the full range of seafood, pasta, chicken, and beef with a variety of price points from modest to expensive that would make any diner comfortable. My husband took full advantage of the many beef selections choosing a bone in filet which was a new cut for him as he had never had a ‘bone-in’ filet. Apparently, as it cooks, the bone contributes to the subtly sweet taste and delicate texture that filet lovers prefer and this lived up to its reputation of exquisite taste with the added flavor that can only come from meat cooked on the bone. My brook trout was equally delicious (assuming you can even compare seafood to a medium rare bone in filet!) and was served with polenta and pistachio brown butter which I am trying to duplicate at home and serve on everything. There’s a nice selection of sauces, vegetables and sides and since we were trying to keep our choices light, we ordered the cauliflower-creamed spinach (because it was made with surprisingly minimal cream) and the roasted mushrooms.
Our favorite desserts were the pumpkin seed milk shake, a delightfully light and refreshing dessert with a subtle nutty flavor from the pumpkin seed oil and the sticky toffee pudding.
The Stage Left owners and managers closely monitored the satisfaction of the customers, adding to the warmth and intimacy of the experience. Additional tip: Although we didn’t take advantage of it, the menu mentions a 5% discount if you show your Uber or Lyft receipt, an added bonus when no one in your group wants to be the designated driver!
This was our first time at the restaurant. We were celebrating our anniversary, so we thought we would splurge, as this is an expensive establishment. The atmosphere was excellent. The wait staff was very attentive, and provided very good explanations of the menu, etc. Our food was good as eaten, but an hour or two later we both had abdominal issues. You can not judge a book by the cover.
The food was amazing. We were greeted by a very nice young lady who also bar tended and kept coming to our table to be sure all was Ok. she was super nice! I do not know her name though. It was our 30th wedding anniversary and Francis Schott sent us an email for 2 complimentary glasses of champagne and the chef sent us a special dessert with Happy Anniversary written on it! The initial waiter was very nice and gave us a good wine recommendation.so were the servers during the meal. Unfortunately though we were one if not the last table left-our reservations were for 8pm on a Saturday night which isn't that late-and we had to ask for our check 3 different times and it took close to 15 minutes before we got it. No staff were visible to us for quite a while. That was disappointing but the overall experience was wonderful!
my husband had dinner prior to the show at State Theater. We were seated in the Wine Library, which was quaint and just very lovely. The food and the service are always fabulous, good wine and a perfect night. Highly recommend Stage Left, it's on of our favorite restaurants in New Brunswick.
Outstanding food, drink, and service! Great and diverse menu options with very knowledgeable Staff to describe details of each! Wonderful ambience! Beautiful dining room, intimate lighting, sophisticated feel - with very professional and attentive Staff! Owner and Staff truly made us feel special and important! The best overall dining experience that we have had in quite some time! We now count Stage Left amongst our all-time favorite local restaurants and look forward to returning, very soon!
Went for our Anniversary. They stamped menu’s with wax seals for the occasion. That is just the kind of touch they take with every aspect of their dining experience. Steak was excellent. Sides were exceptional. Menu was unique. A must go for any and all occasions.
Head waiter was friendly and asked if we were seeing the 8pm show next store at the theatre, which we were. Said he'd get us out on time. It took 15 minutes to bring out our wine, which he apologized for. We werent presented with the specials, which was caught by another waiter while taking our order.
The food was very good and timely once the order was placed but we had to chase down the waiter for our check and an item was missing from our take home. Seemed like the wait staff had poor communication with one another. We missed the first 10 minutes of our show, which was frustrating.
Seating was tight, as its always been, but we expected much better service at this price point.
We specifically went for the lobster weekend event. It was very good. Always an excellent dinner and service.
We had to move our table!! Along with another table.
There was a table of 8 who thought it was McDonald's and have never been out to a nice restaurant. They were extremely loud. It was awful! Fortunately we were able to move our table. Another table choose to move also.
We had tickets for Buddy Guy, and reservations for Stage left Planned for about a month. was not sure we would be able to attend the show or the dinner reservations, due to emergency surgery a week prior surprising and happily we where able to make it ....... CAUSE DINNER WAS AWESOME and the Show WAS AWESOME....JUST an AWESOME night ... we will definitely be back...LOVED IT...:)
The staff and service went way beyond my expectations. Everyone introduced themselves immediately and informed us of their role. The bartender Jacob was inventive. Sean our server was attentive. And Julie the manager did what managers are supposed to do. She went around to each table to follow up on their dining experience. Lady but not least the food was awesome. The steak we shared was cooked to perfection. The dessert served in the Himalayin salt bowl was quite different also. Stage Left is a restaurant we will definitely go back to.
I went to the restaurant before the show. I had been before and it was about 3 stars. This time, my friend and I ordered surf and turf, an appetizer, coffee and desert. The price was exhorbitant for the restaurant food. The lobster tail was a little cray fish size in a bowl with stale butter. The fillet was ok. I would certainly not rate this as 4 starts or more.
