Steam Plant Kitchen & Brewery
Great historical space with a steam-punk vibe. The food portions are large, inventive and delicious. I had the blackened halibut sandwich, which was perfectly cooked, well-spiced with interesting toppings, and presented on an incredible fresh-baked brioche roll. Scrumptious!
We had an amazing first experience at The Steam Plant this past weekend. Our server went above and beyond for us. We ordered the Melt, The Codfather, as well as I the fish and Chips. Taste was PHENOMENAL! Due to a very busy kitchen, the manager gave us a complimentary dessert (the raspberry short stack), which capped off an incredible meal. We are new to Spokane and already we know this is going to be a part of our favourite restaurant rotations. The atmosphere was intriguing and inviting, the layout is like stepping into a time machine with a modern twist. Staff was so friendly too. Thank you Steam Plant!
Dinner before the Thomas Rhett concert with family
Everything was good except for the chicken wings; they’re we’re not hot (temperature) when it was served to us.
Very overpriced for what we got. There was no bread or rolls with the salad. Our entree and salad were brought at the same time. The croutons in the Caesar salad were stale cornbread. We had eaten there once before but probably will not go back.
Unique setting with good food and beer.
Servers are friendly and knowledgable about the menu
The setting, the former city center steam heat plant, makes a nice casual spot for dining. High school Prom season and the accompanying groups of tuxed and suited dudes and gowned and high heeled gals lent continueing entertainment. Smoked steelhead buccatini and Caesar salad with chicken delicious and well presented and service quick & professional, but friendly. Great place for a quick meal prior to a concert at the Fox.
Excellent! Our waiter even rushed our order, so we could get back to our meeting on time.
the service was slow it took over 25 mins to get our food and our water was never refilled till after our meal, and the waitress never checked in on us, only once 5 seconds after we received our food
Cod Fish and Chips were great. Server friendly and helpful. Would recommend Steam Plant as a casual date night spot.
My staff and I traveled to Spokane for a state conference and my assistant found Steam Plant Kitchen from a google search. We had a wonderful dinner, excellent wait service, and enjoyed the ambiance that allowed for us to discuss work. I had the Emerald Kale Salad (w/add'l shred chicken), and we also ordered The Codfather, Bone-in Pork Chop, and a Smoked Gouda pizza (I think this was a special request that was happily accommodated). Everyone said their respective orders were great. Don't overlook the Fire Roasted Cornbread. It was delicious and although there are Anaheim chiles in it, it's not at all spicy. The apple-hazelnut crisp was a bit too sweet and underwhelming. All told though, we would definitely visit again!
Excellent, friendly service. Even tho was an extremely popular
and busy eatery, were very prompt, cheerful with delivery of all beverages and foods.
Conversations were easy as background noise was easy absorbed into the "Wowsie" historical setting of this building.
Fun menu to choose from with generous portions and packed with presentation.
We were visiting our daughter in college and decided to try this place out. Pleasantly surprised on how fantastic everything was!
Located inside the nearest building, the food & selection was wonderful.
We booked our daughter’s graduation dinner here and so glad we did.
Awesome service. Really great recommendations from servers! Such an awesome location for a restaurant & was reasonably priced.
I really enjoyed my meal here. The building is fascinating in itself and the food and service were outstanding.
You guys made our son’s birthday dinner extra special! The private room was a nice and unexpected surprise as well. Outstanding service and excellent food. I can’t say thank you enough!
The overall experience was great but very busy so the service was pretty slow. Had to send back a drink and a meal because order was wrong but they were very nice about it and happy to correct their mistake.
We hadn't eaten here in almost 10 years and it was nice. The atmosphere was more casual, like a spot for a light meal or just meet for drinks rather than an upscale restaurant. Our server was very nice and attentive. Would definitely go back for the right occasion.
Excellent service! Pizza crust is very tasty but a little doughy, but the toppings were outstanding (chicken, sun dried tomatoes, artichokes).
My wife's fish was very good but the French fries were "batter dipped" prior to frying, which we don't understand at all. Fries should be fried just as they come without any adulterations.
Our friends salads and chili were excellent. The apple crisp for dessert was great, though they put the ice cream on mine despite my asking for it to be left off. I scooped it off and they generously left it off my bill. Overall, a good dinner.
I especially liked how far apart the tables are. In many restaurants the tables are far too close, but here they are well spaced allowing some privacy.
The noise level got pretty loud probably owing to the fact that the walls are located brick creating a lot of reflected sound and reverberation.
What a great surprise for a family meal. First time visitor and your restaurant exceeded our expectations. The food was top notch, I tried the Worlds Greatest Turkey Sandwich on a whim and yes you're right! It was awesome. Can't wait to visit Spokane again and visit your restaurant once again. Thanks
A little pricey for the food you get, but the atmosphere makes up for it. Tasty craft cocktails.
Food was very good if not slightly over priced. The service was nonexistent, we sat for maybe 15 minutes before some came to take our order. That would have been forgivable if not for the hour and a half following our food arrival that we were ignored. No water refills or offers of any other beverages. We had to chase a waiter down to pay and even then it took him 10 minutes to come over with the bill. Service is everything in my opinion, and the Steam Plant is very weak in this area.
1st time there it was awesome! We took a little tour after.
Great service, great food. Unique setting and the waitress was great and the valet parking made dining downtown convinient
Portions were huge! Delicious!
The building was pretty cool and we enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. Beer was OK, food and menu were decent. It was an enjoyable evening and the service was good.
Great food in a cool venue. Despite the fact that our waiter kept telling us “no rush” throughout our meal, we definitely felt rushed. At one point, he grabbed our check thinking we had put our card in it but we had not as we were still eating our dessert. We were in and out within an hour withdrinks, dinner and dessert. We had no desire to be rushed.
Great decor and lots of delicious things on the menu. My cod father sandwich was too overpowered by spicy seasoning. They closed at 9 pm—too early!
Great experience and different look.
It was very good. Too often, at least one of the ratings is low in many restaurants (lighting, noise, great food but poor service, etc.), but our experience was great and we will make another visit.
Enjoyed dinner - service a little slow . Food was good .
The food was tasty and they had a wide selection from soups, salads and appetisers to full meals. I'd say it was mainly Continental dining selections. Nothing weird.
The atmosphere was interesting and historic. Watch for the resident ghost.
Great spot..excellent dinner and super interesting venue with really good service and music in the bar area was fantastic!
Excellent menu, reasonable prices, very nice waiter.
The food and service was incredible! Their mushroom soup changed my life.
I will not return to the restaurant nor recommend the restaurant to anyone, the food was terrible and the service was unfriendly and very slow. Ordered a casear salad, it had only balsamic vinegar no casear dressing, stale croutons and no bacon, dinner was to be blackened chicken, not even close. Was a cheap piece of chicken in a tomato sauce. Certainly not fine dining.
Food & service were outstanding ... Table location & noise level were disappointing for a dinner date with my wife ... Having never been there before - would go back, but only for better/quieter table location ... Would be among favorites if noise and table were not so bad
Poor Gluten free choices and they can't guarantee that any of them are completely gluten-free because they make everything right next to the pizza dough oven.
The wait staff and cooks were very friendly and helpful, the food was very good and the building was amazing. Don’t leave without visiting the smoke stack
Service was polite but slow and inadequate. The food is good but not a cut above average. It’s a fun place to sit and spend time studying the locale. But, the location itself is the attraction, not what they peddle...
