The restaurant offers seating with views of the 80-foot ceilings, old boiler pipes and catwalks as well as to the pub down below. Steam Plant Brewing showcases its very own nationally-acclaimed, hand-crafted beers using regionally grown grains and hops. We really enjoyed our dinner at the steam plant. We come to Spokane occasionally from Canada. This time for bloomsday. We are putting the steam plant on our list of must go to places when we next visit. My wife is still talking about the food she had. Personally, I created the heat for a couple of steam plant as one of my jobs, so I had an historic interest in the building as well. Thankyou for an enjoyable evening.

This is by far the most interesting environment I have eaten in, in a very long time. This historic steam plant that heated downtown Spokane until the mid-80's, has been turned into a restaurant, but much of the old industrial machinery still remains. A quick walk around the building allows you to view the factory from interesting perspectives, and read information on historic plaques. The menu is small, but all the dishes we ordered were of very high quality and generous portions. The 11-beer sampler allowed us to try all of the attached brewpub's interesting selections, from I.P.A.s to a bizarre jalapeno beer.

Awesome setting, loved the steam engine dining space for larger groups. Maybe next time. Disappointed that resto wasn't a little busier, it was almost empty on Thu. night. The dishes, beers were superb. I had the steelhead, my colleagues, the steaks and meatloaf.

Made a short notice reservation for out of town guests and dinner for four. Took a chance after reading prior mixed reviews. We were rewarded with an all around excellent dining experience. Ambiance, service, food (4 different entree's), and beverages were all wonderful. Server, Jess, was a 20%'er - never hovering, but always on top of our beverages - plus made a last check before happy hour ended. She checked in just enough after our food was delivered, as well. One caveat: We were dining on a SUNDAY evening from 5:00 - 8:30 PM - it was not a busy evening; so I don't know how "flawless" things might be when they are more crowded.

Made reservations for our Anniversary and was sat at a dirty. Had to ask for silverware and napkins. We never got refils on our tea and never saw our waitress till we asked for boxes. As we were looking around at the really cool look of the restaurant, we were really hoping the cowebs above the table don't fall in our food. Also thought for how expensive it was that bread would have been offered. What made it great that we were celebrating our night in a cool atmosphere and absolutely AMAZING food.

Food was amazing! Sirloin steak was a bit undercooked and fatty. New York steak was on point, and the Buffalo meatloaf with Huckleberry ketchup was great as well!

We went there to get a quick bite and some drinks. It was a great looking location and the server was very friendly. The total bill caught me a little off guard at the end based on drink prices but besides that it was a really good time and the drinks were phenomenal.

The service was awful. Had to ask twice for everything including silverware. The food wasn't that great. I was with my best friends so the company was great and we enjoyed visiting, but honestly could have done that at home and saved$120. That's right $120 for two drinks, one appetizer,and three meals. I won't go back. Not worth it. So many other great places in Spokane.

I don't write many reviews, but I was disappointed with several aspects of the evening, so here we go. My husband and I rarely go out so when we do, it is a rare occasion. Last Friday we went to dinner before the Eric Church concert. We had reservations for a booth, which was accommodated. The server seemed in hurry to get us in and get us out. We arrived during happy hour and the table menu said there was $1 off wine during happy hour. The server said she would have to ask and wasn't sure. I showed her the table menu. She still had to ask. It took forever to get our drinks. We wanted a second drink, but by the time we had finished our first, happy hour was over and we still hadn't seen the server to order a second drink. Forget happy hour. When we received our food, we ordered our second drink. The food was good, not great, but the quantity was lacking. My husband had the NY strip which seemed very small. I opted for the prawns that came with quinoa. I didn't care for the quinoa at all. It was bland. The prawns were not much better. There was no salad, no bread, nothing except the plate of dinner. For the exorbitant price of $87 for two entrees and two wines and two beers, I expected more. Will try someplace else next time. I will say, however, that I did enjoy the ambiance. I just wished salad and bread were part of the dinner. We were still hungry when we left and we are not large people.

This was my second time coming here for dinner. The 1st time was in 2015 for a 1st date. This time was 2017 my wedding day with my 1st date companion. The previous menu was a tri-fold with great selections. We had the seafood appetizer which was amazing. The newer menu however is a double sided single sheet of stock paper with most of the items containing chorizo. My steak (one of the only things that did not contain chorizo) was perfectly cooked but the potatoes were cold and not that tasty. My husbands pasta (chorizo tortalini) was way too sweet. I am not sure if I will return to eat, but I might try out the lounge sometime. The server (think his name was Andy) was funny and very accommodating.

The worst dining experience I have ever had! Made a reservation and still had to wait over 30 minutes, told our waitress we were going to a concert and were limited on time and she had a rude response. Took over 30 minutes to get our drinks and the final was a huge hair in our meal. The worst place ever!

Second time to Stacks. First time was exceptional. This second time was a big disappointment. We had reservations for four at 6:00pm. We weren't seated until 6:20pm!!! We had tickets to a concert, and even with rushing though dinner we were late. Very disappointing and not enjoyable.

Was disappointed with the calamari appetizer, it was soggy and bland. Steak was cooked well and the shrimp scampi was good. Service was ok. It was a good meal but not fantastic enough to entice us back!

Have been a few times over the years traveling from So. Cal to visit our student at GU. The setting is spectacular but this time the food was about a C. The food was an A from past years. New chef??? Off night??

Was in town for the weekend and was intrigued by the history and unique beer tastings. I had to try the Jalapeno beer even though I'm not a beer drinker. It was pretty good. Also had the beer cheese soup which was great and served with popcorn. We had the cheesy bread and taco appetizers but wasn't that impressed with either. I'd go back again for the soup and try one of their other signature dishes if I lived close by.

We enjoyed our experience at The Stacks. You had run out of some of your menu items however, the server was excellent and took care of everything we needed with humor and care. We will definitely be back. We had the New York steak and the seasoning was wonderful. Beer and martinis were excellent.

Ordered the salmon pasta without mushrooms. Took 30 minutes to arrive, covered in mushrooms, small ones that were impossible to pick out. The waiter brought me a new dish without mushrooms, but it was so salty it was almost inedible. Husband's steak was delicious, so I did eat something. Disappointing that the salmon wasn't even comped. Would not recommend the salmon dish or restaurant.

Everything was good except when I made my Valentine's Day reservation I asked for romantic table. First they tried to seat us in the lobby hallway, yea no, so then offered the table nextto it. No nut we were hungry.

This is an excellent place to dine. Food is great and the service we had was the best. They make their own beer, with super choices, but have a good wine list. The food choices were not all ordinary so there were different things to pick. Beer drinkers should try the huckleberry beer for sure.

I was very disappointed with the lack of Happy Hour, the service was par, but not representative of the food prices. My wife and I came in for valentines day, I called ahead to confirm their happy hour times a few days in advance. We came in and they no longer were serving happy hour due to the day. It was disappointing, it was our first time here and we were left with a poor opinion of the place. I understand why there weren't serving it. I would have just liked to been made aware ahead of time. I even checked on the website, and on opentable it wasn't stated anywhere. Server also wasn't anything special, but tipping 20% on our bill left her $20 that I don't think was really adequate since she didn't do anything other than the basics, even though we were one of 3 tables in the restaurant at that time. I don't think I will be recommending this place any longer.

The customer service was great. The restaurant itself was awesome inside. The smoked salmon was great, but everything else was just ok. Dinner prices are r 4 to 5 dollars a plate to much. Wine was good. We will be back but for the bar and appetizers.

The food was so mediocre I can't believe it cost what it did. The only reason I would return would be to have a beer in a cool building, but otherwise it didn't feel worth it. Our waitress was pretty great, super slick on up-sales, and attentive. I wanted to take my husband out to a special dinner and left feeling disappointed.
