Steam Plant Kitchen & Brewery offers a distinctive approach to dining in which we work with local farmers and ranchers to create dishes that celebrate the best our region has to offer. The restaurant offers seating with views of the 80-foot ceilings, old boiler pipes and catwalks as well as to the pub down below. Steam Plant Brewing Company & Pub showcases it"s very own nationally-acclaimed, hand-crafted beers using regionally grown grains and hops. The menu here offers our Chef's own twist of traditional pub fare, including meats and fish smoked right here inside our smokehouse.

Good food which has greatly improved since it has remodeled. Servings could be a little bit bigger and maybe a couple more dinner meal choices.

Service was sub par. Our waitress was rude and short (not in height). The limited menu was ok for the special occasion (Valentines) but nothing caught my fancy. I ordered a Reuben thinking that reubens are pretty safe and hard to mess up. Boy was I wrong. The Reuben had cucumbers on it and the slaw was not tasty at all. I choked down half (I was starving) but couldn’t bring myself to finish it, it was bad. We ordered a dessert thinking that would redeem the horrible dinner but the banana cream pie did not make up for it. The bananas were not ripe and it wasn’t very flavorful. My wife ordered the fish n chips which she said were good. We were very excited to visit the remodeled steam plant as this was our FAVORITE restaurant before they closed for remodel. But after eating there on Wednesday, I’m not sure we will be back which saddens us.

The noise from the piped in music was jarring and too fast paced for good dining. It was like they wanted you to eat fast.

Unique location in the old Spokane Steam plant made for a fun ambience. We were seated right next to the open kitchen, which was entertaining to watch the meals being prepared. Menu did not have a huge selection but what they had was great. Entree salads were small & overpriced. We had them as appetizers. Pizza was fantastic. Would go back again.

The service was outstanding! Well-staffed, attentive. The remodel runs deeper than the beautiful finishes --- the menu has been completely overhauled by a new chef and the food is much better. The food is fascinating; it strikes a wonderful balance between fine dining that would please a foody, but in homey/comfort flavors. Can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu.

Whatever you do, DON'T miss the corn bread! It is rather large for 2, but that didn't end up being a problem for us ... too good to not eat all of it!

My family and I liked the booths for dining. We found it very easy to talk amongst ourselves and didn't feel like we had to shout to hear one another. It was very easy to talk and we couldn't hear the people in the booths next to us. We liked the privacy aspect of the seating accommodations. The food was excellent and even though our waiter had a large group that was somewhat needy he sent other staff over to check on us and make sure we had a pleasant dining experience. The spinach dip was excellent. Out of town guests that I have brought here had great things to say about the restaurant. I will definitely be back.

We were very pleased. We were glad that there was plenty to eat, the food looked very appetizing but was more than just pretty food. The bread appetizer is amazing. Everything was cooked to Perfection, nothing was overcooked. We will gladly go back again

I would recommend this to a friend with reservations. The Steam Plant is one of the most unique buildings in Spokane and to be able to wander around it, exploring the various parts and experiencing a piece of Spokane history is a pleasure. However, i think the food and drink have become overpriced for what the offerings are. Our appetizer and entree were both mediocre in quality and taste, but the prices would have led you to believe the food would have been well above average. Though not exorbitantly expensive, I believe it is priced well above where it deserves to be.

The atmosphere is fascinating and the beer is great. The food though? Left something to be desired for the price.

We went as a family of 5 for Mother's Day lunch. All had salad. Never have I seen a more uninspired fistful of iceberg lettuce with a smattering of mushrooms, a few cherry tomatoes whole in a pile on the side and a few slices of cucumber. $11.00. For such an amazing place to have a restaurant one would think they would put a little more love into their dishes.

I took my parents there for Mothers Day. They had never been there before, and were very impressed. The food was Great, as well as the service. The building is beautiful. It was very nice to tour, after our meal. It was quiet, and very friendly.

What a disappointment! After reading varied reviews of this restaurant, we decided to give it a try. I took my wife and mother-in-law there for dinner in lieu of Mother's Day Brunch. We all ordered the prime rib which was more than more than a little over-cooked and dry, but edible; I expected more from such a great venue! I chose not to say anything and ruin dinner, and we all ate without comment. After we left we all confided that it had honestly been one of the worst dinners we ever had. What a shame! There were other things on the menu that looked good too, but we will not return to check them out.

I will say, however, that the service was very good....too bad the food didn't measure up!

Excellent service by an entertaining waiter, engaged and atuned to our needs with being overbearing. Food was delicious. Had the prime rib special recommended by our server. And did I mention the Huckleberry Martini? Also delicious!

Very cool location. Waiter was very nice but food was underwhelming for price point. One meal had to be sent back as unsatisfactory and replacement meal took far too long. Not sure I'd return. However, beer drinkers in group were very impressed.

We really enjoyed our dinner at the steam plant. We come to Spokane occasionally from Canada. This time for bloomsday. We are putting the steam plant on our list of must go to places when we next visit. My wife is still talking about the food she had. Personally, I created the heat for a couple of steam plant as one of my jobs, so I had an historic interest in the building as well. Thankyou for an enjoyable evening.

This is by far the most interesting environment I have eaten in, in a very long time. This historic steam plant that heated downtown Spokane until the mid-80's, has been turned into a restaurant, but much of the old industrial machinery still remains. A quick walk around the building allows you to view the factory from interesting perspectives, and read information on historic plaques. The menu is small, but all the dishes we ordered were of very high quality and generous portions. The 11-beer sampler allowed us to try all of the attached brewpub's interesting selections, from I.P.A.s to a bizarre jalapeno beer.

Awesome setting, loved the steam engine dining space for larger groups. Maybe next time. Disappointed that resto wasn't a little busier, it was almost empty on Thu. night. The dishes, beers were superb. I had the steelhead, my colleagues, the steaks and meatloaf.

Made a short notice reservation for out of town guests and dinner for four. Took a chance after reading prior mixed reviews. We were rewarded with an all around excellent dining experience. Ambiance, service, food (4 different entree's), and beverages were all wonderful. Server, Jess, was a 20%'er - never hovering, but always on top of our beverages - plus made a last check before happy hour ended. She checked in just enough after our food was delivered, as well. One caveat: We were dining on a SUNDAY evening from 5:00 - 8:30 PM - it was not a busy evening; so I don't know how "flawless" things might be when they are more crowded.

Made reservations for our Anniversary and was sat at a dirty. Had to ask for silverware and napkins. We never got refils on our tea and never saw our waitress till we asked for boxes. As we were looking around at the really cool look of the restaurant, we were really hoping the cowebs above the table don't fall in our food. Also thought for how expensive it was that bread would have been offered. What made it great that we were celebrating our night in a cool atmosphere and absolutely AMAZING food.
