We had a party of 26 (2 tables ) in the Rock Room reserved for months. Our waiter was inexperienced, unconcerned, and did not understand the job of waiting tables. Many of us got tired of waiting and just got up to get the prime rib special since he did not make an effort to take orders. We had finished the prime rib dinner 40 min. before others at out table were served their dinners the sat there at least 75-80 min with nothing served. This is inexcusable!!! Then he brought us the desert menu and when I asked what flavor the gelato was he said strawberry shortcake. Having never heard of that flavor of gelato, I waited and sure enough it was ice cream, this waiter did not even know what gelato was.
Miss communication on the time of the Brunch was a bit frustrating. We had to wait 30 minutes for the start. I feel the should have thrown the coffee in at that point but did nothing.
My Dad’s 87th birthday 😎
Wonderful lunch! Very peaceful, lovely place! Looking forward to a return visit.
The menu had plenty of choices for our group's needs which included gluten-free and no salt foods. We all enjoyed our delicious meals. We were seated quickly and the food came out in a reasonable time. The waiter seemed disinterested in his job and warned us against trying certain entrees because they were "not his favorite". He did not seem to know that green beans were supposed to come with our meal instead of the spinach that we were served. On the way out of the restaurant, we enjoyed some wandering javelinas!
We had a great table near a window, great view. Great service, Great food. We really enjoyed it.
Disappointed that after having cocktails and lunch they would not offer a complimentary birthday dessert. Will think twice about going there to celebrate a special occasion as there are plenty of Tucson restaurants who provide a complimentary dessert. My friends will also be informed.
Really a nice place to dine any time of the day. Great views of the golf course and cattle roaming.
I was extremely disappointed with Stables on Christmas eve. I order the Rib Eye Steak and the quality was something I might expect in a West Texas Roadhouse. Mash potatoes (no other choice such as a baked potato), a couple of strings of asparagus, and no salad.
The restaurant is a beautiful setting but if you want better food go to Denny's
They didn’t have four wines we tried to order cuz of half off wine in Wednesday or so. Well Ribeye was excellent wish wine could start before meals came to table but nice place and will like to come back when I have a chance!
We ate Thanksgiving dinner on the patio. Beautiful view over the golf course at sunset. Traditional turkey dinner was perfect.
Genuinely friendly staff. Food quality is consistently 1st rate. View is spectacular.
Excellent! Did not feel rushed and the views are delightful.
Have eaten here several times and have always enjoyed the food, service and setting.
We love this restaurant for the ambiance, view, friendly staff and the food was awesome. I had the pot roast and my husband had steak and both were excellent!
Dinner with friends . Great tasting , great service !
Had a wonderful experience. The food was fantastic. View from the window table was relaxing
and we enjoyed watching the cows making their way across the fenced pasture, with the mountains in the background. We enjoyed not being rushed and able to just relax and enjoy.
I was a bit frustrated in not being able to find parking any where near Stables. I had to drop off my guests and park in a dirt lot about a 12 minute walk away. We will be back!!!
We were celebrating our 55th Anniversary. Our daughter & son purchased our stay & called to tell the front desk that it was a special event. No one seemed to give us any special attention . Our daughter did purchase chocolate strawberries for our room on arrival. We have been to the hotel & Stables many times & noticed a change in service. To top it off , my steak was ordered medium-rare & when it arrived it was very rare. The waitress took it back. My husband was almost finished eating before my dinner came back. Unfortunately, I want to be honest so you can improve your staff & the service they offer. It was very disappointing.
Celebrated my birthday and we had a wonderful evening. I held a surprise birthday dinner for my wife last month and Stables Ranch Grille was great to work with.
Not a lot of good restaurants to choose from, sadly, in this part of Arizona. The Stables has beautiful views out over the golf course in the daylight. The food, while a little expensive, is usually dependable. Fairly limited menu, and, while not for foodies, is decently prepared. The menu changes seasonally. The bar is fun, and there is live music on weekends.
It should probably be recommended for much more but I was not in a group, do not drink wine, go to the bar (Happy Hour, Vibrant Bar Scene), care about organic - just saying that if I didn't check it is because it didn't apply to me.
We had a surprise birthday party for my wife. I booked the dinner for eight, but kept adding to the number until we finally stopped at fourteen. The staff and service was great, and our meals were wonderful. I'd recommend Stables in Tubac to anyone. Thanks Stables.
The service was slow. My Caesar salad was very good, but my Red Trout dinner was not seasoned and dry. My vegetables were covered with arugula and a vinaigrette., strange.
Great staff. Great menu; I had the Carne Asada. Beautiful setting. Eat outside if the weather permits.
Nice new menu items & live music outside in the patio/good music also. We just love this place the restaurant is beautiful as well as the view!
Nice Western theme. Slightly over priced. Nice guitar player in dining room. Chef needs to learn difference between rare, med rare and medium. Two steaks were significantly under cooked but we seldom return food. Chefs table appetizer not worth the $.
We haven't been to the restaurant for some time. The view and the ambiance of the resort are great. The food is OK, but highly priced for the quantity. Our waitress (Johanna) left a lot to be desired.
We went for the fabulous fireworks show and had dinner just before the show. The food was awesome and the service was first class. Highly recommend.
It was the 4th of July and we also booked a room at the Resort. We had a great view of the mountains and it wasn't too busy. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The food we ordered was terrific. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
We had an enjoyable evening with friends. That food overall was average, I had the seafood pasta, and Sharon had the German pork. The German potato salad was not true German potato salad. The appetizers were very good. The servers we very good.
The restaurant was very relaxed and comfortable, with a beautiful view. The restaurant menu is slightly different from the menu on their website. We were also a little disappointing because you couldn't get anything with shrimp as they were out and they no longer offered filet mignon. Our dinner selections were good, but service is lacking even though they weren't busy.
Overall we still enjoyed our dinner but there is definitely room for improvements.
food and service were good, usually this is a quiet place to eat--we happened to have had 4 women, whom were a little toasted and loud right next to us!!
We've eaten here many times but this time was a disappointment. They are currently on a summer menu, which had very little that appealed to us. Two of us had the trout which was tastless and served on a bed of cold greens. One of us had the schnitzel which had nothing special to commend it. The linguini with seafood was drenched in sauce with very little seafood. Even the bread, which is usually a treat, appeared to have been heated by microwave so was not crusty. Not only was the food uninspiring, but their chairs are very worn out--way too soft for comfortable sitting. We have mentioned this the last two or three times we've dined there and the management seems to have no interest in upgrading the seating. All very unfortunate as there are few other good options for restaurants in the Green Valley/Tubac area.
Excellent ambiance, feels so pastoral. Beautiful setting , great service and the food was very delicious.
I took my wife there for Mother's Day breakfast, we chose outside seating. The food was Very Good, service was slow..... The View and the Atmosphere....Priceless,,.
I would prefer a more varied dinner menu. The menu for dinner was mostly beef, I would have liked one, at least, chicken dish.
My main complaint is we ordered a $60 bottle of wine, which was good. My glass was full, a fly landed in it, they gave me a clean glass and offered me a glass of much cheaper different type of wine. A really good restaurant would have not charged us for the wine or given us a new bottle.
The filet mignon I ordered was good, vegetables and crab cakes had too much of a spicy herb. View good, ambience good.
You get a beautiful refreshing view of the golf course from your table! A refreshing atmosphere for a change and the food is delicious to boot!
Tubac is one of our favorite places in Arizona! The food is very good and the setting and views are fantastic.
We were very upset as we sat for 5-10 minutes and finally ask someone, through the screen, who's our waitress! We had been passed over while other tables were being served with drinks and we had nothing. The waitress in charge of our table should be fired. Finally the manager the took our table and severed our drinks etc. before we left a waiter dId fill our tea and coffee. Once we got our food it was excellent...cheers to the cooks and kitchen.
