Stables Ranch Grille - Tubac Golf Resort Ratings and Reviews
Had a wonderful experience. The food was fantastic. View from the window table was relaxing
and we enjoyed watching the cows making their way across the fenced pasture, with the mountains in the background. We enjoyed not being rushed and able to just relax and enjoy.
I was a bit frustrated in not being able to find parking any where near Stables. I had to drop off my guests and park in a dirt lot about a 12 minute walk away. We will be back!!!
We were celebrating our 55th Anniversary. Our daughter & son purchased our stay & called to tell the front desk that it was a special event. No one seemed to give us any special attention . Our daughter did purchase chocolate strawberries for our room on arrival. We have been to the hotel & Stables many times & noticed a change in service. To top it off , my steak was ordered medium-rare & when it arrived it was very rare. The waitress took it back. My husband was almost finished eating before my dinner came back. Unfortunately, I want to be honest so you can improve your staff & the service they offer. It was very disappointing.
Not a lot of good restaurants to choose from, sadly, in this part of Arizona. The Stables has beautiful views out over the golf course in the daylight. The food, while a little expensive, is usually dependable. Fairly limited menu, and, while not for foodies, is decently prepared. The menu changes seasonally. The bar is fun, and there is live music on weekends.
We had a surprise birthday party for my wife. I booked the dinner for eight, but kept adding to the number until we finally stopped at fourteen. The staff and service was great, and our meals were wonderful. I'd recommend Stables in Tubac to anyone. Thanks Stables.
The restaurant was very relaxed and comfortable, with a beautiful view. The restaurant menu is slightly different from the menu on their website. We were also a little disappointing because you couldn't get anything with shrimp as they were out and they no longer offered filet mignon. Our dinner selections were good, but service is lacking even though they weren't busy.
Overall we still enjoyed our dinner but there is definitely room for improvements.
We've eaten here many times but this time was a disappointment. They are currently on a summer menu, which had very little that appealed to us. Two of us had the trout which was tastless and served on a bed of cold greens. One of us had the schnitzel which had nothing special to commend it. The linguini with seafood was drenched in sauce with very little seafood. Even the bread, which is usually a treat, appeared to have been heated by microwave so was not crusty. Not only was the food uninspiring, but their chairs are very worn out--way too soft for comfortable sitting. We have mentioned this the last two or three times we've dined there and the management seems to have no interest in upgrading the seating. All very unfortunate as there are few other good options for restaurants in the Green Valley/Tubac area.
I would prefer a more varied dinner menu. The menu for dinner was mostly beef, I would have liked one, at least, chicken dish.
My main complaint is we ordered a $60 bottle of wine, which was good. My glass was full, a fly landed in it, they gave me a clean glass and offered me a glass of much cheaper different type of wine. A really good restaurant would have not charged us for the wine or given us a new bottle.
The filet mignon I ordered was good, vegetables and crab cakes had too much of a spicy herb. View good, ambience good.
We were very upset as we sat for 5-10 minutes and finally ask someone, through the screen, who's our waitress! We had been passed over while other tables were being served with drinks and we had nothing. The waitress in charge of our table should be fired. Finally the manager the took our table and severed our drinks etc. before we left a waiter dId fill our tea and coffee. Once we got our food it was excellent...cheers to the cooks and kitchen.
The Stables Ranch Grille at Tubac Golf Resort is a great place to eat. You look out over the golf course and the lake (with the ducks and birds). You can watch the young calves running and playing and the older cattle eating or laying in the shade of the beautiful old trees. The service is great, people are friendly, and the food is delicious. We do not live close to Tubac, but have visited and stayed at the resort on numerous occasions. We always eat at Stables. You will enjoy!
We celebrated my friends 94th birthday. Our table was seated for 5 and the waitress was wonderful. Food was great. We bought in our own cake so after dinner the servers lit the candles and we all sang happy birthday. Lots of laughs. The one thing we commented on was the weight of the chairs. Us older folks with disabilities had a hard time pulling the chair close to the table. The men servers were very willing to help us out. We had a great time.
Thank you to the chef for doing such a great job and to our waitress for celebrating a very important day with us
Food and service were excellent. I had the pork schnitzel as it is an unusual dish for Arizona. Both the pork and German Potato Salad were excellent. My wife had the pork carnitas which may have been even better then the schnitzel. We recommend both. We had a prime table near the windows looking out at the golf course. There are two adjoining rooms; the room as you enter is rather dark and dreary, the adjoining room nearer the windows is better but still not great. Both are a bit noisy due low ceilings and hard surfaces. I realize the restaurant is historic and meant to be rustic but I think due for a makeover and updating. Our server Josh was very attentive and did an excellent job.
We split the Caesar salad and filet. The filet was cooked to perfection - rare but not purple. Very tender. The salad was quite tasty and the white anchovies were a nice touch. Shared the Carmel apple pie which was served warm. Delicious. The wine list has some reasonable options. We were guests at the Inn and this was very convenient. We eat here every time we stay here.
Food was good, service was almost non existent. On 2 separate occasions while staying at the resort we had dinner. One with a reservation and one without, both times service was slow. On the night with the reservation, I even had to chase down staff for service.
The menu had a great variety of selections. We ended up having the special which was prime rib. It was very good. Our waiter was wonderful, maybe the best we have ever had at any restaurant. The drinks and wines are a little pricy. It was a wonderful evening.
We had a reservation, which the hostess couldn't seem to find, and we were seated at a small table very close to the kitchen. There was no view of the course, and there was a great amount of traffic going past our table, detracting from the dining experience. The food was excellent.
