This is the best dining option after visiting the historic Biltmore house because the restaurant is located in the converted stables adjacent to the magnificent home. The noise level is high in the main dining space so seek a table on the side, which are a bit quieter. Decent food served in large portions by a friendly staff. I head the local mountain trout which was cooked beautifully but he cream sauce overwhelmed the very fresh fish. Salads are plentiful, aided by fresh roast chicken. We visit Biltmore often and this is a good stop after 2+ hours visiting the Home.
I came in before my reservation time and went to the Stable Loft. The ladies were more than willing to let me in early. My husband and I sat at a 2 person table right in the middle of the room so we could look down and see the downstairs section of the restaurant. That provided a great ambiance for us.
I had the chicken salad croissant and he had the turkey sandwich. Both were great. The chicken salad had giant chunks of chicken--no pasty chicken salad here. The turkey sandwich was massive, very filling. If we came back to the Biltmore, we would definitely eat here again. Not too bad on the wallet, excellent service, and good food.
I really wanted to sit in a booth in an old horse stable. It was great. The feeding trough is still there. The wood has not been re-varnished. It shows its age. It was the perfect for us to have a luncheon to celebrate our 30th anniversary. I can't enough about the waitstaff. And the food is beyond wonderful. I had the turnip chickpea soup. I loved it so much, I came home and looked it up on line. I know mine won't be the same. But it will be similar and I am hoping it will invoke memories of our great day together.
I came for my birthday. Didn't know I would receive a sweet treat . Very pleasant surprise. My server was very accommodating to the dietary needs of everyone at the table. Food is great!
The Stable Cafe is an excellent choice for almost any occasion. They have a wide variety of menu items, are very accommodating, and provide an atmosphere that's casual without being too casual. Overall it is an excellent choice.
I had noted on our open table reservation that it was a 75th Birthday celebration but no mention was ever expressed by any staff. Food was very good however our waiter was all business and did not interact with us in a friendly manner. It is a very unique dining experience to eat in a stable barn.
Came for the hubby’s birthday. Got the trio sampler platter. Delivered to our table in no less than 5 minutes after ordering. Food tasted like it had been sitting there all day. I would compare it to theme park food, only not as fresh.
Great food. We visited Biltmore for our first time and decided to try the cafe upon referral from a friend. It was amazing.
Good Food, Good Atmosphere, Good Settings, not a friendly waiter, he acted like he was better than us.
My husband, son and daug-in-law had lunch before going through the Biltmore Estate. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Our server, Candy, was excellent - very friendly, very efficient, refilling beverages timely, and making recommendations. We asked for a 'booth' and got to sit in one of the horse stalls which was a fun experience. Since we were there at noon time on a weekend in January, the restaurant was not full. Noise level was low so we were easily able to converse. A little pricey but it's Biltmore so to be expected. Greatly enjoyed our lunch and would certainly recommend.
Love the food . The Stable Café Sampler is wonderful. Enough food for 2 people. Cant wait for the next visit.
Beautiful venue. I have been other times and the food was great. This trip, however, I was extremely disappointed. The BBQ was very dry, and my dining partners burgers were dry and tough. I recommend eating outside of Biltmore for better food and value.
Have always liked the Stable Cafe. They recently updated their menu with some nice vegetarian choices. I had a grilled cheese with portabella mushroom and sweet potato salad. All was quite yummy. Being there in January the place was quiet and we had excellent attentive service.
Expectations were high and they were met. Thank you!
Don’t know if because it was an Open Table reservation that we were put in a booth with no view against a wall when other nicer booths were open, but that’s where they placed us. Disappointing.
Enjoyed a hearty lunch on a cold winter day. Had a 2 p.m. reservation but we were done with our house tour early. The staff was able to find us a table (stall booth) well ahead of our reservation time. Very accommodating. The restaurant is large but cozy and warm on that day (which we appreciated). We enjoyed the warm pimento cheese dip immensely-- it's a must have. The burgers were excellent as well. The beef stew was good, didn't care for the base but it was still edible. Didn't leave room for dessert, but there's always next time!
We had a wonderful time celebrating my 62nd birthday there at the estate and will be going back today to visit the winery.
The Stable has such a welcoming environment. It is easy to access from the house making it a perfect place to enjoy a meal before or after a tour at Biltmore. The food and service are excellent!
Fantastic as always!!! Always enjoy the Stable Cafe when we come to the Biltmore!!
