This is the perfect restaurant if you are looking for good food that’s not fancy. The prices are on the higher side for casual food, but certainly the best prices for a meal on Biltmore grounds. The atmosphere can’t be beat and the staff is friendly and helpful. Can’t recommend enough!
After a morning exploring the estate, this is a great place for a late lunch or dinner before touring the rest of the grounds.
Good food locally sourced coupled with great service!
Highly recommend getting a “stall” for dining to complete the experience of being in a stable.
We had lunch at the Stable Cafe while visiting the Biltmore Estate. Loved the fact that we were eating in an old stable stall. The food was great and the staff was awesome. Will definitely eat there again on a return trip to the Biltmore!
Really enjoyed the food, service, and overall atmosphere of the Stable Cafe! It did not disappoint!
Food was good. The check was split incorrectly. Instead of 50/50, one party got the full bill plus the other party got half the bill. It took a long time to fix.
Had a reservation and it was Quick and yummy during lunch hour! Great service!
My daughter and I were there for our annual mother-daughter outing. The service was great, food came within a few minutes and was delicious!! We will be back!
Delicious chicken meals and very flexible making substitutions for dietary needs and/or taste preferences. Relaxing place to eat after touring the house.
We had reservations for right after our tour of the house. We were REALLY glad we did. Most people we saw were waiting in lines to eat. I had the brisket sandwich. It was excellent. My husband had the chicken salad croissant which was very bland. It was fun to eat in a horse's stall in an old stable. The service was very rushed, but it was a busy time.
The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The lunch menu had just changed when we had our reservations and the selection and quality of food was very good. I had one of their salads and added grilled shrimp for a tasty dish that I would order again. We had a banana creme brulee which was out of this world. Our waitress and hostess were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
We enjoyed lunch at the Stables Cafe while visiting Baltimore Estate. They have a nice menu of soups, salads, and sandwiches, along with a few heartier selections, served in the converted former stables of the estate. Our waiter Carlos made a delightful lunch even more enjoyable with his relaxed, friendly banter.
OUr family from out of town had never been to Biltmore and totally enjoyed the entire experience
Unique setting and very convenient- right at the end of our tour. Service was fantastic & food delicious.
Our order was at the table within 5 minuets. Food was excellent.
Unique atmosphere, very friendly waitress. Menu has something for everyone.
Loved the stable theme, very unique indeed! We received great service from Paula, very friendly and attentive. Great turkey sandwich and loved the bread. Even though we did not have dessert, we could see that they were generous portions and looked yummy
Loved the pimento cheese appetizer. The barbeque was wonderful. The stable room is a perfect place for lunch. I recommend you do make reservations when you know the date you will visit Biltmore.
I have eaten here several times, and I’ve never been disappointed! The food is always delicious and the wait time to get the food is short. It is best to make reservations. It worked out perfectly that we could eat as soon as our house tour was complete. It’s especially cool that the restaurant was once a stable! It’s beautiful and very unique!
The food was very good and the portion size was perfect! Our server was very nice and very attentive!
We had a an enjoyable lunch at the stable cafe. It wasn’t crowded since we came when it opened at 11 am. The service was great and the desserts were delicious. Our favorites was the key lime pie.
Very good! Nice break from walking and touring the grounds!
My husband and I enjoyed the Stable Cafe because the food choices were fun, and we loved the ambience of being in an old stable. The southern barbecue was delicious, but the burger wasn’t as special as it was made out to be. The key lime pie was to die for, and our waitress was excellent!
My family was visiting from NY. Our experience was over the top. Our waitress was exceptional. Simply great.
A very good choice for us after visiting the mansion on Biltmore Estate during the very busy week after Easter. If you want to park and enjoy the house and gardens before lunch—this is the way to go. Enjoyed the fare—not your usual tourist food, which was great. Food-to-table with creative combinations (e.g., beet ice cream with pistachio cake). It’s a large restaurant and can be noisy but we enjoyed a booth at the start of the lunch hour, which made it feel more cozy. Service was excellent.
We will return again. It was worth the drive and the food was wonderful.
Fantastic Lamb Chops!!!
This restaurant, on the Biltmore property, provides both excellent food and excellent service. Our party of 10 arrived at the site about an hour earlier than expected. We were vary grateful that they were able to seat us within about 15 minutes of our arrival. They accommodated a family member with food allergies. They provided a kids menu and a booster seat. Our server was very pleasant and helpful, and all of the food was excellent.
Great details surrounding diners with a uniquely Southern menu. Our waiter was so subtlety funny and accommodating! An unforgettable experience!
Very unique place. A former stable where stalls were used for eating. Good service too.
The atmosphere was wonderful. Our waiter was spot on and laid back! We ordered the sampler feast for two. The meat was tasty. The collard and beans has a nice tasteful spin to traditional collards and beans, though a little salty for my taste. If I were at home I wouldn’t spend this much money on a meal for two but I will dine at the Stable Cafe again on my next visit.
The Pimento Cheese Dip is a must try...just get two orders if there are four of you!
Always my go to restaurant when visiting the Biltmore. Great atmosphere and a great food experience. Love the sampler platter along with their amazing key lime pie.
The food, the service, the amazing building. Everything was perfect!
Would love the recipe for the sweet potatoe salad.
Compared e restaurants at Biltmore, I was disappointed in the service, but not the food.
The Stable Café is the perfect spot to dine while at Biltmore. The ambiance, the décor and history of the building are wonderful and add a finishing touch to the visit. The food is always good and service is generally quick, in spite of the volume of diners that fill the place. The one thing I miss on the menu is, The Fried Green Tomatoe Sandwich...it is to die for. (My timing is always off so I miss the 'green tomatoe season') If you see it on the menu, I HIGHLY recommend it...DELICIOUS!!
This is the best dining option after visiting the historic Biltmore house because the restaurant is located in the converted stables adjacent to the magnificent home. The noise level is high in the main dining space so seek a table on the side, which are a bit quieter. Decent food served in large portions by a friendly staff. I head the local mountain trout which was cooked beautifully but he cream sauce overwhelmed the very fresh fish. Salads are plentiful, aided by fresh roast chicken. We visit Biltmore often and this is a good stop after 2+ hours visiting the Home.
I came in before my reservation time and went to the Stable Loft. The ladies were more than willing to let me in early. My husband and I sat at a 2 person table right in the middle of the room so we could look down and see the downstairs section of the restaurant. That provided a great ambiance for us.
I had the chicken salad croissant and he had the turkey sandwich. Both were great. The chicken salad had giant chunks of chicken--no pasty chicken salad here. The turkey sandwich was massive, very filling. If we came back to the Biltmore, we would definitely eat here again. Not too bad on the wallet, excellent service, and good food.
I really wanted to sit in a booth in an old horse stable. It was great. The feeding trough is still there. The wood has not been re-varnished. It shows its age. It was the perfect for us to have a luncheon to celebrate our 30th anniversary. I can't enough about the waitstaff. And the food is beyond wonderful. I had the turnip chickpea soup. I loved it so much, I came home and looked it up on line. I know mine won't be the same. But it will be similar and I am hoping it will invoke memories of our great day together.
I came for my birthday. Didn't know I would receive a sweet treat . Very pleasant surprise. My server was very accommodating to the dietary needs of everyone at the table. Food is great!
The Stable Cafe is an excellent choice for almost any occasion. They have a wide variety of menu items, are very accommodating, and provide an atmosphere that's casual without being too casual. Overall it is an excellent choice.
