We have been to the St Paul hotel numerous times but never the grill. We finally went and I must say that we have been missing out on some unbelievable food. The Ribeye I had was beyond a doubt the best I have ever had. My wife's Walleye was delicious and done to perfection. Both of the salads were beautiful and perfectly presented. The Chef and his team are to be truly commended!
We enjoyed a family lunch here and as usual the food was excellent. Highly recommended by our table are the French Onion Soup & BLT.
Very high quality and high class food. This is NOT a typical hotel restaurant. The service is outstanding and the food quality is very, very good. Steaks and burgers are excellent but the fish and chips is outstanding.
Expensive but worth it.
The atmosphere was nice. The staff accommodating in our need for a table in a warmer area. The food was good.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in St Paul. Had the 6oz filet Oscar style with sides of potatoes and Mac and cheese. Delicious!
Always excellent!
35th wedding anniversary.
Thanks for another wonderful dining experience! The service was outstanding, our spot in the restaurant was perfect, and the recommendations for our drinks and meal were wonderful.
It was cold in the restaurant. Otherwise everything was great.
This was our 5th anniversary and we couldn’t have spent it at a better restaurant! Ryan our server was outstanding! His recommendations and polite humor made everything perfect. As for the meal, the best steaks we have ever eaten.
We were there for a dinner before a show at the Fitzgerald. The food was amazing and the service was above and beyond. Our server, Ryan, took exceptional care of our dining experience from the pre-dinner drinks to the appetizer, through all the wonderful dinner choices, to the after dinner drink and desert. He even kept an eye on our concert start time and made sure we had a safe ride to the show. Truly one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. Thank You!!
The Grill is and always has been the best dining room in downtown St. Paul.
There is nothing flashy about St Paul grill but it is the most consistently spot on restaurant I have ever been to. They just don't miss. Fantastic food and incredible service. Great job staff always setting the standard for excellence. Best crab cake in the mid west!
This was our favorite restaurant when we lived in the Twin Cities. And we were completely supported in our prior assessment by the excellence of the food and the service. The only downside was the high level of noise, something we had not experienced previously. Apart from that it was spectacular!
Busy night, so had a late reservation for dinner; we were able to sit at a table in the bar earlier, so we dined there. Good options!
Service is awesome and so is the food. One of my favorite places to go to.
We had an excellent meal and the wine was superb. It was my birthday and I was treated well without it being silly and over the top. The service and atmosphere were good as well. We have dined at many places in the Twin Cities and would rate this as one of the best. It does cost a bit but was worth it.
The service was very slow but they were busy. The food was good but expensive $134 (not including tip) or lunch for two moms and two daughters. The restaurant was beautiful.
The food was excellent. However, the busier the restaurant got due to a musical at the Ordway, hockey and setting up for a gala, our server took longer and longer to check on us, It took 20 minutes to get our slice of cheesecake and our check. She also lost her smile and seemed very harried by the time we closed out our bills. Our order came quickly and we still had a good a good time.
Paul was our waiter and he was so good! Our food was amazing - 2 of us had the halibut special. Carrot cake and creme brule for dessert! So Yummy!!!
Excellent service, food and wine. A bit too loud for my taste. Inhibits good conversation. Would go again though.
Always great to be here. Food is terrific and the service is amazing. Our waiter took really good care of us and was sure everything was great.
A good old school restaurant with excellent service. For dessert we split a Brandy Alexander and butter brickle ice cream. Hadn't had those in years and loved them. Food is good, down the middle offerings. So don't go looking for inventive cuisine but what they do, they do well. The whiskey list is fantastic.
Great service from Jon. Wonderful evening.
Truly the only criticism I had was with our waitress who added a side dish to our meal based on a comment I made to one of my friends vs. an actual request to her - and when it arrived I just assumed someone else in our party ordered it. Delicious nonetheless. One of my friends said it was the best food he'd eaten in a restaurant in years!
Great food, best salmon I've ever had, cooked to perfection. Wonderful waitress. Love this place!
This is my go to place in Minneapolis! St. Paul
The best food and service I have found in the Midwest
The manager Diane and Ryan the server are awesome
One word... Amazing!!!!
Food and service were wonderful as always. We came before the opera and even though are reservations were for later they were able to get us in a little early so we could enjoy our meal.
We have eaten at St Paul Grill on several occasions and have never been disappointed. Our recent visit was no exception. Service was excellent, food was excellent, and the atmosphere was vibrant without being over the top. We were celebrating my wife's birthday. We didn't expect any special treatment but our bartender and our server presented my wife with a special drink and small dessert. Our server recommended a small jazz after dinner spot (Vieux Carre) that was fantastic. Another great evening at the St Paul Grill!
Average food for the high prices. Our server seemed to be going through the motions and wanted to be somewhere else.
Dry-aged steaks were amazing!
We enjoy going to the St. Paul Bar and Grill after going to the Opera. Just a walk across the park from the Ordway.
The spinach omelet was outstanding as well as the side dish's. The brunch menu was the best I ever had at the St. Paul Grill. Waittess was also very top of the line.
We had a delicious lunch with fine service. This is always a go-to place for authenticate charm, excellent food - a special get together spot. We go for lunch before the Opera and are never disappointed.
Wonderful birthday surprise dessert to top off an amazing meal!
The food was incredible.
Always most Excellent
So disappointed that the stone crab was served warm with a tasteless butter sauce. I expected them to be served the traditional way cold with a mustard mayo sauce
