St. Paul Grill and Bar
Delicious food and huge selection of premium liquors
Great food, I had the walleye and rice soup and both were excellent. Love the atmosphere and the bar area. Ask for a table with a view of Rice (?) Park.
I always dine there before the opera!! From our arrival to the hotel, to being warmly greeted by the hostest(s) to the expert service of all the servers and wait staff to the time we collect our car from valet, it us always an excellent experience!! You have an 5 Star rating in my book!
What the menu described and what was served was not what I expected. The corned beef hash was weird. It was cooked so a big chunk of corned beef was stuck in the middle of the hash browns. Eggs were ordered medium and came cooked hard. Not my usual experience here. I ordered something different and will stick with the usual. Wife’s fries were not crisp and oiled soaked and soggy. I found great taste and consistency in the way food is prepared keeps people coming back. I will pay on the higher side for the for mentioned.
I’m so grateful to Toni for offering to make us brunch though we’d goofed up on the days. Our Benedict’s were perfect!
Every staff person we encountered was incredibly helpful.
Food was outstanding- we had the filet Oscar, which is a special this month. DELICIOUS!
The last question was hard to answer based off of one bad experience. Our steak was undercooked, the hash browns were burnt on the bottom and our server was basically nonexistent most of the night - except for when a customer from a neighboring table pulled her aside as she was explaining the nights specials. Helped them out pretty quick. Seemed as if she personally knew them.
I understand the Grille has a special ambiance and allure. We have eaten there many times and make a night of it by staying at the hotel, but this one time the value paid didn’t come close to what was delivered. Disappointing.
Mentioned it at the host stand as I walked out and they offered to get a manager. I didn’t have time to discuss...
We enjoyed this restaurant tremendously. Food was wonderful. I'm strictly carnivore,so it was great being able to order exactly what I wanted without odd looks from wait staff because I did not want sides or sauces, etc. Our waiter, Paul, was very friendly, accommodating and informative of recommendations and specials. We also never felt out of place or uncomfortable.
Our wait staff was prompt, patient, and knowledgeable. The food—beet salad, walleye, Caesar salad, scallops—was excellent, as was the Chardonnay from the Willamette Valley in Oregon. As a birthday surprise, my companion received a decadent chocolate dessert with whipped cream and chocolate shavings on the side. Delightful!
We’ll definitely be back again.
St. Paul Grill and Bar never disappoints! This was another birthday celebration for my wife. The food was very good and service is always superlative. This is in the top five of our favorite restaurants.
Everything was absolutely wonderful. Both food and service were outstanding. Couldn’t be happier!
Fabulous cocktails and pre-dinner chatter at the best bar in the Twin Cities. Followed by unbeatable salad and steak, delivered with excellent service.
Overall was good. Service could’ve been a little better however the food was delicious. One of the biggest New York strips ive ever had.
The chicken pot pie was average....not many vegies or chicken chunks.... steak fries were over cooked and luke warm. I have dined here many times - always superb... must have been an off night.
Great experience. Our server was phenomenal for brunch.
As always the food is very good here. There for the bunch on Sunday. The Carmel nut rolls that come with brunch are delicious. The waitress Never came around to ask us how our meal was and I had to ask her for our check after waiting 10 minutes and not receiving it.
The table location was fantastic and the server was the epitome of professionalism. Great service!
Went to dinner before going to a concert at The Ordway. We were hoping for a nice quiet dinner. Unfortunately, the Wild had a game and a bunch of fans were in the bar before the game. We might as well been sitting in the bar too as it was very noisy!
Always great! Nice atmosphere! Always perfect service!
When you're in the mood to spend BIG BUCKS, this is the place to go.
It's a great place for a fine meal and evening. You don't go there to save money but enjoy what you have.
The fish and desert were both cold.
Brunch time on a weekday. Loved the service and food. Serving size was more than ample, very flavorful and good value. We compared it to a previous lunch at Panera’s which was $6 less in cost but not the ambiance or the same generous serving size. We both took home leftovers which were delicious the next day.
Our dinner was good, the servers did very well, the food was top notch, and worth the price. The problem I had was the fact that seven of us (the table was actually set for 8) were crammed into a three sided booth/table combo that was meant for 6 people. Normally I could overcome that, but I starred all night at a table for a larger group, that was eventually broken down into two tables to sit one group of 5. It was kind of disheartening.
Will it stop me from coming here again? No, but the experience really made me ask myself if management is paying attention. The next visit will certainly have an level of skepticism going in.
Excellent, service, food and ambience. Always a good choice. Thank you!
We had a super waitress! Lovely choices and a great table.
We came back to this terrific restaurant for our 25th wedding anniversary. The entire experience especially the servise was supurb. It was a dinner we will always remember.
From start to finish, the best experience ever!
Greeted by Heidi and Vanessa , they were so kind saving a great booth despite arriving late, however we did call!
The food was exceptional, Brandi’s service was spot on and we were even surprised with a little plate of origami birds made of apple!
When your 9yr old granddaughter claims she felt famous , it’s a great day!
Chef James check on us, even!
We both felt very special!
Thank you again, St.Paul Grill!
You are the best!
Insane prices. Limoted menu. Cold, tasteless steak and dry pork chop. Will not return or recommend.
Chuck did an amazing job as our server and the hostesses were great at accommodating us early for our reservation. Memorable service from start to finish and the food was superb!
Great food and great service! We love coming to town and hitting up the St Paul Grill.
We were celebrating a birthday. As always The St. Paul is always good food, good service, and great ambience. We have started celebrating birthday lunches there with my daughter’s and myself.
Though the food is always superb, the prices are quite high. The acoustics in the bar/grill are such that it is so noisy you can't hear yourself think, let alone carry on a private conversation. I cannot remember our server's name, she was unfriendly and looked unkempt.
Excellent staff, very attentive! They made us feel very special for our 38th wedding anniversary.
Food and drink is pricey, but the service was great. The room was very noisy, almost too noisy to talk to the person sitting across from me.
Ok. “Value” is a subjective term.
I am thrilled to pay $16 for a wedge salad as fresh, cold, crisp, bacon-y, and creamy as that served at St Paul Grill. That’s value. So is the exceptional asparagus with hollandaise. The steak and fish are legendary, so enough said.
It’s always fabulous. Always has been, and ever shall be.
We had a birthday dinner for my daughter. The food delivery was a little slow, but the food waitress and General Manager were very responsive and accommodating for us.
The grill is the standard for great service, food, and experience. Our family had Sunday brunch and were seated right on time. Very helpful front end staff.
Warm caramel rolls and water right away on the table, very knowledgeable server -friendly and attentive.
The food is great- benedict and corned beef hash entrees. Good size and reasonable price - prepared perfectly. Mimosa's and bloody mary were mixed just right. Wonderful gluten free specific menu with bread alternatives for my wife (gf benedict bun!). The ambience is very nice and makes for a relaxed brunch. Many people come to the grill from the hotel and are very relaxed - I even saw people wear jeans and ball caps which is fine - but I suggest you dress it up just a bit and make it an experience.
The grill and hotel bring back the idea of a time where people slowed down for good food with attentive service in a fine setting - something that seems lost at so many of the 'trendy' spots that will be gone within a year and that lack class or talented staff. The grill remains a trusted go to.
Food sent back twice to be done to order correctly.
