St. Paul Grill and Bar
Need to book at 9:00 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
St. Paul Grill sets the standard for fine dining in Minnesota.
The staff make you feel like honored guests. Food is superb. Service is attentive without being invasive. Simply splendid.
Good restaurant, good meal , good location. We really loved it .
Just a delightful evening. Wonderful service, delicious food, ample servings, great coffee, beautiful interior, just a lovely evening. Thank you St Paul Grill. We will be back
I typically hate going out to eat due to the fact that most restaurants do not meet my standards. St. Paul Grill not only exceeds my standards but presents an incredible value for what you get as a customer. The food they deliver is wonderful and at a fair price. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking find a new favorite place to eat. They knock the ball out of the park.
The food is extremely rich at St Paul Grill. Portions are very large. Service was quick and that was appreciated. The blatant attempt by the server to jolly his way to a bigger tip was annoying. He was SO not funny.
Reliable as always. Great place to take guests. The service is always terrific, drinks well made and food very good. Comfort food, nice presentation and portions. You can't go wrong with this place.
Busy Sunday brunch. Was pleased that we were seated in a quieter part of the restaurant, but food was good, but not exceptional and certainly not for the price.
Service and food was impeccable! Can't wait to return.
Everything was excellent with the exception of the waiter. I really felt as my wife and I were pretty close to an inconvenience.
My girlfriend and I went to St. Paul Grill and Bar in order to celebrate Valentine's Day. It was a wonderful experience!
We went to dinner Feb. 13 to avoid the busy rush from Valentine’s Day. We got to the restaurant at 4:55 pm and our reservation was for 5 pm. We were instructed to have a seat in the hall until our table was ready and no one mentioned the bar or a nice place to seat in the restaurant why we waited. We got seated eat about 5:10 pm and that made no sense because no one was in the restaurant. We ordered our food, me crab cakes, and my husband , top sirloin. By the time we received our main dish it was after 6 pm and everyone around us, seated after us were served before us or at the same time. My husbands steak was cold and gristly. He informed them of the nasty steak and they took his steak off the bill but we didn’t ask for that. They offered us another steak, he didn’t want that and we were so ready to go. By the time we left it was extremely loud in the restaurant (busy rush crowd) and I noticed people having fun at the bar and other inside seating area, good for them. Our bill plus tip was over $140.00 and we decided next time we will just go to Applebee’s. The St. Paul Grill is way over rated.
Picky beef eaters and the filet I had was by far the best I have ever had outside of cooking it at home. It was so tender I could cut it with a fork and cooked perfectly! Plan to spend a lot when you eat here, but at least you don’t feel cheated after, because the quality and service is definitely top notch!
Always an excellent experience! One of my favorite places for business or personal lunches or dinner.
The only thing better than the comfortable yet classic atmosphere and the cuisine is the service and attention to detail.
Always a pleasure dinning here. Unfortunately we sat next to a banquet table full of loud people.
The service was great and the food was wonderful.
We had a lovely, quiet birthday dinner at SPG. It was old school ambiance and all the fancy classics that made my wife’s birthday very special.
We always enjoy our time at the St. Paul Grill. The food is good and the service is excellent.
St. Paul Grill is imply the best in the Twin Cities!
I have been going to the Grille before shows at the Ordway for 20 years. It is always excellent. Staff is terrific and so is the food.
Always excellent! I have never had a bad meal there. Perfection!
Beautiful place to lunch before a performance at the Ordway. I had the french onion soup. It was good but nothing special. Tasted like beef broth with onions. Good french onion is a soup that is crafted by the chef. This was good but nothing special. Another person at my table ordered the crusted Salmon. I was able to taste a bite of it and it was amazing. We enjoyed a crafted cocktail that had fresh sage and bitters. The cocktail was wonderful. Dessert was enjoyable. I would dine again, just not order the french onion soup.
Our server was amazing. Im pretty young and usually when I go to a nice place like Saint Paul Grille, the server doesnt treat me very it seems because I look young and assumes I will not tip him/her very well. Well not this server. He did a phenomenal job.
Service was a bit slow and I did not think our server was very attentive to asking if we needed refreshed drinks and wasn't very helpful when we were ordering. It was very busy though and it was very noisy so it was hard for the server to talk to our table of 10 very effectively.
Have come here many times and brought new friends this time. They were impressed. We love having Chuck as our waiter. He takes good care of us!!
The St Paul Grill is always a great place to go for lunch or dinner. The service and food are excellent and they always have such beautiful flowers displayed throughout the place.
Fast and delicious food with great special touches like the bread and butter basket!
My new goto is the Salmon Salad. I order it well done. Amazingly good and surprisingly good value. Huge price of chargrilled Salmon with an Thai inspired salad. My mouth is watering now. 23$ includes an amazing hot bread and lavash basket. Really filling but I always have room for coffee and chocolate lava souffle with ice cream. Perfect night.
As usual, everything about the St. Paul Grill was pretty outstanding. Our table placement was really the only drawback - we were seated in kind of an “afterthought” area near a service stand and doors into the kitchen, which - given the number of empty tables at that time of day seemed odd. Other than that, great experience.
The Shrimp cocktail was great. The scallops were not hot and steak was ok. We have been there many times and this was not as good.
Roseanne was a highly professional and skilled server. She has the perfect demeanor and our service was perfect.
I have written numerous reviews of the St. Paul Grill. It is a classic restaurant for a kind of fine dining that has largely disappeared in America. It is is a classic steak and seafood house with a few additions. The menu is tried and true. Many patrons have it memorized, and come back because the food is always splendidly prepared, the service is impeccable and though it is a bit pricey, it provides excellent value. For single malt scotch aficionados, it has one of the largest collections in the world. People travel here just to sample some of the rarities provided in the restaurant. Tip: the house wines are excellent and an excellent bargain. Second tip: This is the place to come if attending events at the Ordway Theater, and the valet parking is comparably priced to the parking ramps nearby.
OUR WAITRESS, "ROSE" , WAS VERY PERT AND HELPFUL. FOOD: BEST CALAMARI WE HAVE HAD. THE POT PIE NEEDS A TRADITIONAL PIE CRUST. MARTINI WAS GREAT!
Excellent food and service! The walleye entree and crab cake entree are both amazing. Both are a must.
This is my fourth time coming to St Paul Grill hoping for a different experience. The food is priced high, but not as gourmet or tasty as it should be. For a high end venue, the service is ok. Energy and sincere care is lacking. you spend a lot of money then leave disappointed that you spent $200+ on dinner and didnt have great food or great service. The atmosphere is nice and fancy, and appears to be somewhere nice to go, but overall, not impressive. Spend your money elsewhere.
Great food and service. Lovely decor and view of Rice Park. Easy walk to the Ordway.
Charles was a fabulous server and how do you beat the view of Rice Park.
A St. Paul favorite. Never disappointed. Always impressed
Nice brunch but way too much ice in the cocktail! Everything else was delicious and delightful
