The menu provides traditional American supper club options. I really like that: too many restaurants are trying to reinvent. The St. Paul Grill works instead to provide access to traditional American and Midwest food traditions. All the food was well prepared and presented well. I was pleased with the traditional food preparations, done well. Thank you.

However: The restaurant appears to define itself as one where businesses take the clients, where people charge the meal to their expense account. The prices are high, some of the highest in the Twin Cities. That price range can be ok if a person is entertaining clients. The portions are enormous....and the sides are created to be eaten by a group of at least 4 per table. That too speaks that the goal is to be a restaurant that caters to expense account events.

At the high price level, however, if a couple comes only for personal reasons, the food portions are too large. No options to downsize the portions existed. At the high price for the food, the food also needed to be at premiere quality. It wasn't. It was good but not at that price. I will be happy to dine at the St. Paul Grill if I were eating there on someone else's business account but not on mine.

The noise level was very high, so loud that it was difficult to converse. The noise interfered with the enjoyment of the food. I will not return because of the noise.

Great meal and service. Truly one of the finest dinning experiences in the Twin Cities Metro. The roasted Brussel sprouts were amazing (should be a signature dish).

I celebrated my business’ 20th Anniversary with my husband and two business associates with lunch at St. Paul Grill. Everything was perfect: The elegant and comfortable setting, the professional service and the incredible food, which included a custom-ordered cake that was heavenly. It truly made the event a special day for us that we will forever remember. Thank you, SPG.

The service is amazing and it's a great menu and lovely place. My husband's steak was good. it came rare and we'd asked for medium rare, but it was tender and good. My seafood stew was a shame. it tasted like over cooked fish in a bath of Ragu sauce. Honestly, sad. Not enough crab/seafood (maybe one limp little claw and 2 shrimp), way too much of the overcooked fish. Love the bar and all the apps and love the vibe. This was the first time we had a 'serious' meal in the restaurant.

Asked for window seat. Granted. The staff would not open the blinds even after I asked. When they were not serving us (often) I stood up and opened them myself. Other than that it was very enjoyable and the food was great.

I had the sea bass, and it was the best sea bass I've had in years. Beautiful thick fillet, pure white and flaky. Done to perfection. The taste was out of this world.
We hardly ever ask to be reseated after being given a table, but we happened to be near the bar where there were many St. Patrick's Day revelers. I don't mind someone partying, but the bagpipes made it a bit loud. We asked to be reseated and they were able to accommodate us. So, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner in a quiet corner of the restaurant.
All in all, an excellent experience.

St.Paul Grill-what a night it was 🙏simply amazing! The service, food and atmosphere were spot on. Thank You Ryan -our waiter- you have skills, chef James and your team- food and presentations were phenomenal, Diane and Tara and the entire St Paul Grill team thank You for your hard work. Bravo 👏 .You did it again ! Chef James just one comment-don’t you think the sea-bass dish could have more exciting plating? It looked like there was something missing on the top .I think would be great to add some color there. Thank You

Wonderful evening! We all enjoyed our meals. Our Granddaughter's salmon was a bit too salty and I'm sorry she didn't tell me while we were there as I know you would have exchanged or in some way made her dining experience as perfect as the rest of us. The window seat I requested was reserved for us. It was a good time, birthday noted, excellent wait staff!! We will be back!

Loved the casual but elegant feel of the restaurant. My husband's steak was cooked to perfection. I was going to have steak also until the chicken pot pie was delivered to the table next to us. It was amazing, the chicken so tender, the vegetables cooked perfectly and the sauce was oh so good. All of this topped with a phyllo crust, baked to golden perfection. Will have to go back and save room for the luscious looking desserts.

The salmon benedict was advertised as having arugula on it, but it only had 2 tiny leaves on each. There should have been more or a larger amount served on the side with a little dressing.
