St. Paul Grill and Bar
Great dinner! Thank you!
Amazing food. Pricey! But a great place to take your lady!
I compare every steakhouse to the St Paul Grill. It is my standard bearer of what a perfect steakhouse should be. Some come close but no one is better. The atmosphere, service, menu, food and wine are all beyond my expectations. The prices are actually reasonable! It is always busy there . . . holidays everyday open 365 7. Volume must be how they keep the prices reasonable. I happen to love the buzz of a full restaurant. Steaks, potatoes of your dreams, sides and desserts are all made-to-order. They even make the ice cream! We will be back to try Mothers day brunch! Chow!
Very worth it and fantastic overall experience. A true top-tier restaurant.
Amy was/is an amazing server. Very attentive and helped with recommendations. The restaurant was very clean and inviting. The manager stopped by our table to make sure everything was as expected both with our food and our service.
One of the best steaks in the Twin Cities. Not a seafood guy but my wife says it was delicious.
Food was good - the calamari was absolutely delicious! Everyone enjoyed their meal. This was a business meeting and the atmosphere was perfect. Nice wine selection and good service.
Our annual Valentine's dinner as long as we have been married. Great tradition
Great experience. Toni was excellent waiter. Wine and food was great too.
Best ribeye I’ve ever had! It was our anniversary and they really treated us well.
We had a very nice dinner with a friend before attending the Minnesota Wild game. The food was delicious and the service was very good. We will go back again.
Excellent on all aspects
Great place! Great service and meal! Wes the bartender is awesome!
Four of us all had steaks, calamari, brussel sprouts, creamed spinach, and the infamous mound of hash browns. The food was all great. Service was superb.
Always a great place for a good meal with excellent service.
A little pricey for our pocketbooks but it was a special occasion so we splurged. As they say, you get what you pay for. Everything was perfect!
Our favorite place to eat after the Opera.
Thankfully, the noise level was not a problem. I don't know if I rated it right because I couldn't tell if a big block meant good or too much. But it was fine. The hash brown/mashed potatoes were wonderful though too much food. Scramble with asparagus was perfect. Wait person was excellent with a personable and good sense of humor. Thanks for a great experience. (Only recommendation is to check before bringing out caramel rolls. We couldn't eat then because our breakfast was plenty. I hated to waste the food. They were delicious!)
My favorite place! Love all aspects of it! The food is great too!
I have been enjoying the Grill for my birthdays since I was 18! I look forward to their wonderful service and excellent food every year! We also celebrated our wedding reception there 22 years ago! It’s a magical and special place for us! Thank you for being consistent in service and quality!
The worst service we've ever had when dining at this hotel, very uninterested in us as patrons.
This restaurant continues to be one of my favorites! I always dine before the theatre and often swing by after for a night cap. You can go casual or dressed and feel comfortable. Great food and service always. Never had an issue with either in my many visits.
The best food I have ever had. Kim was our server & was amazing!!
Tenderloin and salmon were excellent entrees. Nicely done and great presentation.
Great place to go before or after a concert, hockey game or play. Also just for an evening out. Food is always great.
A wonderful place for a Sunday Brunch or great meal before an Ordway performance.
It was fantastic!! Phenomenal service, excellent food!!
The service at St Paul grill is outstanding- the best in the twin cities. However, the food is not worth the very lofty prices. It tends to be full of sugar and salt. The portions are unnecessarily large. Smaller portions for less money would be more appealing to us.
The ambiance is very nice, with the views of rice Park and the Ordway out the windows.
Noise level can be very high on a busy night, especially near the bar.
The St Paul Grill is absolutely one of my favorite places to eat. My husband took me there on my Birthday and I had an amazing time. Theresa, the bartender, is one of the most kind and conscientious people we have ever met. The service is awesome and the food is beyond excellent. You can never go wrong with dining and staying st the St Paul Hotel and Grill.
The ambience of the restaurant is excellent, as is the view from the many windows. When black napkins were requested, they were available. The food was not outstanding, but better than average. Menu selections were broad enough for lunch choices. The atmosphere is always the top draw for me.
Fabulous soup of the day. Strawberry salad is a favorite. Great waiter.
I always have a great meal here!
Mary, server was fantastic, always a good experience here. However, given overall quality of the food, surprised by the Chicken Pot pie. We thought it was a signature selection @St Paul Grill, but flavor was bland, no potatoes or carrots, no spices, crust more texture and flavor of a croissant. Fortunately, my wife ordered it. I had the Walleye which is always a 10 here.
The walleye was fair at best and the noise from the bar was so loud I couldn’t hear my wife from across the table at the other end of the restaurant.
Service was well below par for this type of restaurant. Slow and inattentive. Food was average for this restaurant
Food was great. Service was lacking. So as a diner you need to decide is an expensive meal worth the price when the wait staff is poor.
Birthday lunch with my 87 year old mentor and dear friend - perfect, leisurely, delicious.
Weeknight and Wild Hockey crowd was there early, which made for a lively buzz. Excellent specials, Oysters were very good. Seafood special was outstanding. Our server was timely and attentive. The Birthday treat was very good. Overall an Outstanding night. Highly recommend
Allow at least 2 hours to dine here. Very slow service.
We allowed 1.5 hours and were late for our show across the street at the Ordway, even after arriving early and notifying our server that we were on a time limit. Our friends arrive before us and got a drink. It took 1/2 hour to get our drinks, ordered entrees only, no apps or salad and the food came an hour later. Had to eat fast and run to the show. Seems like the food was good, but who knows since we didn't have time to enjoy it. We only saw our server a few times. She never checked on our food and we had to flag the water server to get our check. The restaurant was too noisy, we had to lean in and yell across the table to talk. We were seated near the door and bar so no ambiance. We are late 50 -60 year old's and prefer an enjoyable dinner to a noisy hot spot.
From the moment we walked through the door we were treated like royalty! Our server Mary never missed an opportunity to create a relaxed and top notch experience. Every one of our meals including appetizers and desserts were outstanding. The manager Steve stopped by our table and his hospitality was the icing on the cake! Seating by the window was a bit drafty but tolerable.
