St. Paul Grill and Bar
It was a very special night! It was Easter and the eve of my bday! Mary S took very good care of my mom who has Alzheimer’s. Although I paid the bill, she made sure my mom was in charge. So very grateful for her kindness. Thank you!
Excellent food and excellent service! We were seated in a booth across from the open kitchen...high noise level and traffic.
It was supposed to be a special Brunch...I love the St Paul Grill and this past Sunday
will not change that but this year was not a very relaxing breakfast. About 15 minutes
into our breakfast it seamed that every time our forks approached our mouths we were
asked if our plates could be removed...I looked forward to this breakfast for months and we felt rushed!
The food was not hot and the waitress appeared to be confused...she was very nice and
we appreciated her working the holiday and thanked her for being there for us on Easter Sunday.
I will return but may make another choice for a holiday meal with family.
Great. Food was good. A little late for a wait for food.
Great place for a special occasion. The steak and brussel sprouts were amazing. A pretty good whiskey list as well. Will be returning hopefully many more times...
Excellent food, quiet and elegant surroundings--a destination place to celebrate our birthdays! Thank you for a wonderful meal.
We went before a show at the Ordway. I was kind of disappointed honestly. It was fine but didn’t live up to its reputation. The service was horrible. Our server was not very attentive at all and very slow. I didn’t feel like the food warrants the price either. If I was faced with choosing another date night at a higher end establishment I would not go here again. There are much better choices in the twin cities than this classic institution.
Beautiful restaurant. Great atmosphere, great service, great food. Expect to pay, but one of the few higher end restaurants I would say is worth the price.
All of the food ordered was delicious. The three tiered seafood appetizer, for the cost, was good, but not exquisite. The crab, lobster and shrimp were pretty bland. The oysters and sauce were scrumptious!
One of the best items at the table was the salmon salad. Tender pork chops and the cinnamon applesauce accompaniment was so good!
As sides go, the Brussels sprouts are delightful! The hash browns are amazing and the baked potato was perfect!
The banana cream pie...'nuff said!!!
Our server, Charles, took good care of us, as well as the woman who filled our water glasses and took care of our empty plates and filled our to go containers. I was sorry, I didn't get her name.
It was a wonderful evening.
On the occasion of my most recent visit to the St. Paul Grill I was delighted to see that the regular management and wait staff were back on duty and as a result the restaurant was particularly enjoyable.
Always have good dining experience at St Paul Grill . Thanks for being consistently good.
My first visit to the St. Paul Grill and it was fabulous! What a beautiful place!
Service: service as it used to be before “casual” made dining out ordinary. And dining at the St Paul is anything but ordinary.
Atmosphere: Quiet. Elegant.
Price: Like a yacht, if you have to ask you can’t afford it.
Super experience. Food second to none. We requested a table by the window. We were seated at the best table in the restaurant. Such a lovely meal.
Delightful experience. Food was amazing as was the service. Some of the best coffee ever!
Professional, experienced staff. Exceptional food quality.
Excellent. Except it is important that the chef not add salt at excessive levels this is something that can be added by clientele.
Always enjoy the grill, steady in quality, service and entrée selection. Had clients out for lunch and the waitress was attentive to that, it was appreciated.
St. Paul grill is always a great place. The food and service are fantastic. Lunchtime dinner you can’t go wrong.
Let me start by confessing that I have been a long time fan of the St. Paul Grill. I particularly admire how well the restaurant is managed. When the regular management is in charge, there is not a better managed restaurant in town.
However my latest visit on Wednesday April 10, to the restaurant, was disappointing. When I entered the restaurant I noticed that neither of the regular managers were at the front desk, and even though due to the trrrible weather condition the restaurant was empty, the hosted advised me that my regular preferred table was given to someone else! From there everything went down hill.
Food was fine, not great. Took awhile for us to get someone to wait on us. Once they did, however, service was very good.
Nothing special food wise at the Grill. Nothing to bring us back....
Wonderful food and service.
Service was outstanding as usual! Even kept our leftovers for us when we got back from the Ordway!
Everything was great. All 6 of us had wonderful food and the service by Lyn was super. As we were going to the show at the Ordway, she timed drunks and dinner perfectly.
We had two salads. One (Grilled salmon) was great. The other (chopped salad) was okay. It was made with iceberg lettuce and dried chicken breast, a little bacon and blue cheese. I was expecting more kinds of lettuce and vegetables. The ambiance and service was great.
We had an excellent waitress who answered all our menu questions. She even went and tried the soup of the day so she could give us her opinion. All the food was excellent.
Great place to celebrate a birthday!
Great service, quiet and wonderful food. I would recommend to anyone
Ord way performance
I had to remind the hostess that it was my wife’s birthday. Waiter was very good.
Great restaurant, good food, comforting ambiance, and exceptionally well managed.
It was a date night for my husband and I. As always we had a wonderful experience at St. Paul Grille.
Food, service and ambiance were all fantastic.
Thank you for another great dining experience.
Our evening at the Saint Paul Grill was fantastic. The server (Mr. Charles Pascua) was amazing...second to none. The food was excellent as was the ambience. The noise level from the bar carried toward our seating area a bit, but did not interfere with our daughter's birthday celebration. Thank you!
Always the best choice for downtown St. Paul dining. As classy as it is delcious!
Great service. Our waitress was amazing, unfortunately I cannot remember her name. A little older with funky glasses. After dinner we moved to the bar area. Love the choices and the bartenders we were very friendly!
Very nice place for a celebration dinner..staff was on top of things and food was very good..
Great food and service as always. We had the halibut special on Friday night and it was very nice. Excellent bread and salads too. It's one of our favorite places to go before a St Paul Chamber Orchestra performance, but needs to be reserved well ahead. Can be too noisy though.
The experience was memorable. My wife and I went there for our anniversary and they exceeded our expectations. The service was superb, the food was great. We will go back many times!!
We were there for a birthday celebration and thoroughly enjoyed the service and sense of hospitality. Thank you!
I lunched with a friend in celebration of our 80th birthdays. We had a lovely table by a window, delicious food, and a pretty dessert with candles in celebration of our years. It could not have been any better.
