St. Paul Grill and Bar
Honestly I felt it was over rated. I booked it because I had never been there & wanted to bring my boyfriend to a Fabulous place, I looked at the reviews, and I booked it. We both were disappointed in the food, I felt the tenderloin was extremely rare ( med-rare was ordered) It had to be sent back, It was cold also.
I had the Pork chop which was again ok, nothing over the top. The ambiance was good & We loved the flower gardens outside. Sorry I would not go back, Maybe to the bar, Wes knew his bourbons! My boyfriend liked that!
The iconic St Paul Grill never fails to impress! We love everything about it. You can tell that the staff take pride in their work which shows in the service, food and experience.
Dinner was everything we were looking for. The meal was perfect, Desiree and staff took excellent care of us, and valet parking was the way to go.
Great service, very attentive, with attention to detail. Perfect pre-concert celebration.
Great food and service. Delicious as always, the St. Paul grill is a definite Twin Cities favorite. We came to celebrate a birthday and the complimentary dessert cake was delicious. Everything made the dinner a meal to remember.
Super food and excellent service. Noise level was low when we arrived at 5.00 PM but increased substantially by the time we left. All in all great place to dine.
It had been a couple of years since I dined here, because I did not have a good experience then. Since we were going to the Ordway, however, we decided to give it another try, and I'm glad we did. Our dinner was excellent, and the service was just as good. The show was wonderful too, so it was a memorable evening.
Great location for pre-Ordway, great service and great food! Bravo!
Service was excellent!!!! Great host and waiters! Food was incredible! Will be returning.
The chicken pot pie was outstanding. Great comfort food on a cold, rainy evening.
Service was perfect. I ordered the Halibut special and didn't think it was anything special. Prices had escalated quite a bit since the last time we were there. My son wanted the NY Strip, but it was $64 so he ordered something else.
Scallops were delicious. Susan was wonderful. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
The place was nice, great drinks, hot cheese appetizer was really good but overall I thought the food was just ok. My husband had the scallops and they were amazing. The appetizer hot shrimp were a bit cold. It was a nice evening but for the money, I’d choose somewhere else.
Very loud, big table next to us. Would have preferred a better table.
Staff was very pleasant. Steak was cooked perfectly and tasted outstanding. Very memorable for our First Anniversary.
This is a wonderful dining option for a fine dining experience. Extensive menu, beautiful decor, charming location. It has it all. It was an enjoyable meal for us.
Fantastic Brunch. Great choices! Reduced price Mimosa and a complimentary Carmel cinnamon roll to start your meal.
As always, we were very pleased with our dining experience at the St. Paul Grill. Food, service, and ambiance were all top shelf.
Great food. Excellent service. Wonderful menu. Highly recommend.
My go to place for great service and wonderful food!
Always good there!
My special occasion was attending The Who concert with dinner prior to the concert. My reservation was for 6:00 pm and the concert was at 7:30 pm. Upon arrival, I shared with the hostess we were going to the concert. I shared with our server that we were going to the concert and asked her to please tell us if anything we were ordering would delay our timely departure for the concert. If that was the case, we would order something different so we would stay on track time wise for the concert. Our food arrived at our table at 7:25 pm or 5 minutes before the concert was starting. My entree was cold rather than hot. I did not send it back because it had already taken too long to get my food. The server apologized for the delay and brought us a dessert to make amends. Unfortunately, being given more food which would delay us even more was not a way to make me feel better about my dining experience. Rather, it made me more angry.
I loved St Paul Grill - the helpings were large from my viewpoint so my husband and I split. The ice cream Sunday was too big. Everything was good and we look forward to another visit
We visited for our 24th anniversary and we could not have been treated more special. Amazing food and service all made our dinner so wonderful! We will be back!
Great lunch. We didn’t think that the deserts were great. But the lunch food was excellent.
We booked for our 45th anniversary and noted that in the reservation for an early - 6:00 dinner. Our table was for two and in a service area with lots of traffic. No ambiance and we were both disappointed. We were set to order a dessert when up pops a comp one = which was fine but not what we wanted. Maybe everyone was there for an occasion - so that is the way it works. The halibut special was great; calamari average. I think I will stick to popping in to the bar area and skip reservations as it doesn't seem to matter.
It was a fabulous experience to make a memorable first impression.
The crab tower was excellent as was our key lime pie. Service was top notch.
I love the food, the ambience & the device. This is my favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities!
Meet was a little dry and tough. Everything else was amazing. A few us us thought the steaks were off this time though. Great service and fun ambiance.
I wanted to take my guest to an iconic Saint Paul restaurant for lunch. The Saint Paul Hotel was perfect. Once Shirley, our server heRd my guest was from out of town she was delightful. A perfect end to my guests visit.
Service was excellent, the wait staff was very attentive and accommodating. However, the soups, we tried different ones, were all too salty, although the ingredients were good. good place for lunch and business meetings. The dessert portions are all too big. For health conscious consumers, maybe this established restaurant should change their way of doing things.
Steak was disappointing. It was not tender. When you pay 40 - 50 dollars for a steak, it should provide good dining experience.
Great food, wonderful service, consistent.
A greet atmosphere to celebrate our 55th wedding anniversary. The white table cloth, the attentive service and delicious food. The noise level was loud due to an adjacent table of men.
Our server (I believe his name was Paul) was excellent. The lady who cleared and help with anything else was GREAT, especially when one person tipped their wine glass. She was there in about 5 seconds. The food was outstanding. We were celebrating one couple’s anniversary and the restaurant provided a special desert for them. The entire evening was wonderful!
Great food & service, but pricey. Also nice ambiance & location.
We were there for our 45th anniversary. The experience was exemplary.
Brunch is great! Staff is friendly and attentive.
