St Martin's Wine Bistro Ratings and Reviews
We had a very pleasant early evening birthday dinner with family. The pianist was wonderful, the food was absolutely delightful, service was attentive and pleasant. Always consistently good and thoughtfully presented meals. St. Martins is our go-to when we have a reason to celebrate!
The food was delicious and beautiful. The atmosphere was cozy with the piano player creating nice background music. I had the sole and my husband had Steak Diane. Both were out of this world. Can't believe I hadn't been here before because it has been there forever.
Have been coming for brunch on Sunday for over a year. Enjoy your restaurant for it'ts ambiance and food! At our most recent visit on Sunday the food, wait staff and ambiance remained top notch, but was somewhat disappointed with the presentation of the Eggs Benedict. Thought the last time we visited the serving size for potatoes was a little more and the plate was garnished with some type of greenery or fruit? The plate seemed large for the serving size of 2 poached eggs and there was no color to the plate.
We remain true to your restaurant but would appreciate a better plate presentation.
Very authentic European vibe. I've been to France, and this is as authentic as it gets in Dallas. Loved the piano, the food was superb. We had the champagne Brie Soup to start, the surf and turf entree, Les Tournedos Rossini, and Gran Marnier Soufflé to end- 5 stars.
John and the crew at St Martins are a cut above. Very accommodating and over the years they remember us and our preferences. The menu is extensive and there are always daily specials. John sources the ingredients paying special attention to quality - his chef has been there 27 years and does it show!! Now, the most exciting part, the prices are unbelievably reasonable for Dallas. The value created by the great food, service and atmosphere (did I mention live piano music each evening!) with such a reasonable price is off the charts. We dine out 4-5 nights a week and St Martins remains one of our Dallas favorites.
We had attempted to dine at St. Martin's in the past, but were unable. When the opportunity arose we took it, and are glad we did. Note: parking is limited, so it's either valet or park in the adjacent neighborhood. There is a decent wine list at St. Martin's, and it pairs well with the menu items. Excellent veal scallopini, imaginative diver scallops. The great portion control meant there was room for dessert, chocolate silk pie, and while it seems cliche, it was truly decadent. St Martin's was worth the wait.
The food was exceptional for the second time in the past month. The veal with a butter and capers just sauce melted in my mouth, the Chilean sea bass was accented with a wonderful sauce on a bed of superb risotto and the green peppercorn crusted filet was cooked perfectly. The hostess sent over 3 glasses of champagne for our anniversary which was a nice touch! The only disappointment was our waitress - she made NO effort to make it a pleasant dinning experience - she wanted to anywhere but there.
We were very pleased to find a place to have dinner after my wife's graduation that was appropriately special for the occasion, and we were not disappointed. This place served savory french cuisine and the service we received was impeccable. Our waiter was enthusiastic about the menu and made excellent recommendations. We had a large party and I don't think anyone was disappointed. We were pleasantly surprised with the bill as well. While not a cheap restaurant by any means we paid half what our bill was the last time we dined an a similar french restaurant. We'll be keeping this one in our back pocket for any special nights to come.
From a value perspective we would have expected a different type of sauce with each one of our entrées. However we had three different fish dishes, yet all three had the same sauce with it. Noise level was moderate we could hear the piano which was great, but we were seated next to the front door which made a lot of commotion and bustle about. Overall my view is it was a fun candlelight dinner and event but was very overpriced
We took our daughter and son-in-law out to celebrate her birthday. When I made the reservation, I requested a cozy, private table and were seated at the perfect space in a corner. The appetizers were out of the box, as well as all our entrees and desserts. We were very pleased with the wine list and the cabernet sauvignon the waiter suggested was splendid. A lovely evening.
Sure it’s an 80s French menu, but they killed it! Escargot, tournedos of beef and grand marnier soufflés? Duck, cesar salad, the usual staples from a French restaurant. Service was great from Tim, good cocktail menu and a great place for date night. Hadn’t been there for some time, but will be back shortly. Enough kale and quinoa
Great service. Enjoyable live music performed by the classical piano player. Food was a 10! Scallops were delicious with the spinach and couscous. Surf and turf had the best lobster we've ever eaten alongside an excellent filet. Everything was prepared to perfection. Extensive wine list.
We will be returning.
This was our 2nd time to St. Martin's and it impressed us as much or more than our 1st time. From the piano in the entrance to the service to the fabulous food. If you enjoy classy but not stuffy atmosphere with a wait staff that has worked in the same location for 30+ years and a piano player that understands warm easy music, this is your place.
Definitely a more expensive meal but well worth it. Amazing food, great wine and service was very pleasant. Only advice to restaurant (and a small one), please serve room temp butter. The bread is amazing and soft but butter was cold and hard as a rock. We literally held it over the candle to try and warm/soften it. You mangle the bread just trying to put it on. This would have been a great time that wait staff could have offered to help when they saw us holding it over the candle. I realize this is very minor but when you are fine dining...
Had not been in years and it was as wonderful as I had remembered. Staff was friendly, efficient and helpful. The food was exceptional, especially the sea bass. We were celebrating my birthday and all four diners loved each course of their meal. The hostess (?) at the front was exceptionally sweet and attentive.
Thank you for a memorable evening!
The Sunday brunch is fantastic! There is a price fixe brunch that includes a starter, entree, and one drink from the drink list. I highly recommend their signature champagne Brie soup! It is delicious! We shared a chocolate terrine for dessert which was rich and heavenly!
