A celebration of sustenance may best describe Chef Aaron Chamberlin’s restaurant, St. Francis. Located in a historic building on Camelback Road, just east of Central in uptown Phoenix, the family-owned, family-built and family-run restaurant welcomes patrons to a neighborhood gathering place. The repurposed space was transformed with a comfortably modern and rustic sensibility that echoes the honest, spontaneous “wood-fired cuisine. St. Francis is for everyday nourishment for families, couples and even for special occasions.
It’s for connecting with the community and sharing the pleasure of simple, honest and good food. The name, “St. Francis,” was derived from the
neighborhood land deed that dates back to 1936. It was originally owned by the Brophy family. In addition, the name, “St Francis,” is Spanish for San
Francisco, a city that figured largely in Chef Chamberlin’s background.

    I've been to St. Francis several times and the latest experience was mediocre. The food is always good but this time the service was very slow. We were a party of about 7 so I understand that it may take extra time to get our food and drinks, but we waited at least 40 minutes from when we ordered until we received our food. Half of our food arrived and we had to wait probably another 10 minutes for the rest of the food. It's always awkward when half your party has their food and the other half does not... The server never stopped by to let us know when the other half of our party would receive our food, so we just sat there waiting. The restaurant was busy when we arrived but when we got our food we were one of the last tables left occupied(probably because we had to wait so long for our food). I will say the food is good and I love their breakfast sandwich. St. Francis used to be one of my favorite spots for brunch but I don't know if I will be back anytime soon because of the very slow service I experienced this time around.

    The food and service was great! Brittney was exceptional. She gave us the best service I've had in a restaurant in awhile. She was friendly and hit all the points of service! Can't wait to get back to St Francis ❤

    As usual, this was a great breakfast.......only negative is that I ordered the quinoa bowl without the eggs and hollandaise and so the dish was very dry, could have used a dressing or at least some fingerling potatoes.

    It was great. Food always tastes great. Sat outside and when the air conditioning turned on it was loud and rumbly.

    We were seated upstairs overlooking the bar and happy hour, almost like we were there with tv and view. It's interesting they have mirrors that let the customers upstairs see the faces of the bar patrons facing outside. I didn't know that before.

    Valet parking was REQUIRED - in Phoenix no less! The ambience was noisy, not to mention two screaming toddlers graced us with their presence. The menu was very narrow. The steak was attractively served, but gristly and accompanied by few veggies, and the lamb chop was served in two pieces, one of which was virtually all bone. Pricing was high given the quality and quantity of food served. However, the restaurant had a nice modern design and the waitress was fine.

    Great food. Served fresh. Innovated recipes We had mussels w/ chorrizo and a Pig Dip. The mssels were fresh and the Pig Dip was not only great it also was enough for two to share.
