About St. Francis
A celebration of sustenance may best describe Chef Aaron Chamberlin’s restaurant, St. Francis. Located in a historic building on Camelback Road, just east of Central in uptown Phoenix, the family-owned, family-built and family-run restaurant welcomes patrons to a neighborhood gathering place. The repurposed space was transformed with a comfortably modern and rustic sensibility that echoes the honest, spontaneous “wood-fired cuisine. St. Francis is for everyday nourishment for families, couples and even for special occasions.
It’s for connecting with the community and sharing the pleasure of simple, honest and good food. The name, “St. Francis,” was derived from the
neighborhood land deed that dates back to 1936. It was originally owned by the Brophy family. In addition, the name, “St Francis,” is Spanish for San
Francisco, a city that figured largely in Chef Chamberlin’s background.

St. Francis Ratings and Reviews
The food was delicious. However, this was a special birthday meal, which was indicated when the reservation was made, and no mention was made of said birthday. There are many restaurants to celebrate special occasions at, and unfortunately this is not one of them. If you don't intend to do anything special, then do not ask the question when making the reservation.
Just home from four days in California. The wife wanted to go to flower child. I suggested St. Francis since we had been there for customer appreciation day last month and the food was wonderful. And our fur kids could dine with us on the patio. So that is what we did. Cathy’s commented about her salid all the way home. Hope to go back again soon.
The overall dining experience was positive. The food was good and creative. Interesting combinations. On open table we requested seating on the patio, but our request was not honored. Music was somewhat loud for our group, but we could take part in table conversation.
We have been to St. Francis in the past, mostly for Sunday Brunch. While we enjoy the food and service, going to brunch was mainly to hear Dennis Roland at the request of our out of town guests. The food and service were perfect, the wait staff was attentive without being intrusive. Our table request was honored. A small substitution was made without hesitation. We were disappointed to learn on arrival, however, that Mr. Roland was only performing one Sunday/month. I didn't see any mention of that in the information that Mr. Roland performs at brunch. Had I known that, I could have let my guests know so that they could decide if they still wanted to go to brunch there. They may have decided to go anyway, but it would have been nice to let them know.
Exceptional in every way. I had been looking forward to coming back to Phoenix since I saw St Francis on a food TV show last year. It did not disappoint - in fact , it far exceeded my expectations. Food- service- drinks- decor - everything was 5 star. I asked for a stack of business cards. I'm promoting you guys on FB and other social media. Leaving cards at my friend's guest house in Phoenix , and with my other friends in Phoenix.
Great yummy breakfast!! Brought some friends who had never eaten at St. Francis..they loved it! Bakery items melted in our mouths, veggies in omelets tasted like they had been picked from the garden that morning!
Only suggestion was please turn down the volume... the music was too loud especially for a Sunday morning brunch. The music should be a background..not something you have to talk over.
The music was at a decent level which I really appreciate. Nothing worse than having to scream across the table to your dinner partners because they can't here you over the music. The food was good and there was plenty of it. The service was okay; he did keep the beverage glasses full, so that's a plus. It seemed to take a really long time for our order to come to the table; in fact the manager came to the table to apologize for the wait. While I enjoy the company of those I was with; I think two hours is a little long for dinner. I wasn't thrilled with having to use valet parking, but you have no other choices.
The service was fantastic! Wonderful timing never had to Waite or ask fir anything. We were offered a free YES FREE appatizer from the chef. It was this amazing pancake with apples and a whipped cream and did a mention the pancake was light and fluffy with chunks of chocolate! Wow it was scrumptious just dont fill up on it, or you won't be able to enjoy the rest or your meal.
I thought the food was good but nothing memorable. However, the ambiance and service were fantastic. Our server was super friendly and accommodating without being fake. One of our table mate's food was late. She apologized profusely and then comped us for it. It's a great place to gather. Great atmosphere, not stuffy at all. It was a gastropub that wasn't trying hard to be cool and that was the best.
My best friend and I just had our 2nd annual bday dinner here, our favorite spot. Food was amazing as always and they even gave us a slice of cake on the house to celebrate. Only down side is the noise level, it's very loud in there, but still worth it. We'll be back every year, LOVE and highly recommend.
Food was great and the service was even better. Popped in for a work happy hour and had a group about half the size originally anticipated. The server never acted inconvenienced by the table being less than we had planned for, engaged in friendly dialogue through the happy hour gathering, hazed one of our snippy companions (in a very plasyful and fun manner), and just delivered a great HH experience.
