St. Francis Winery & Vineyards
Closed: Tuesday & Wednesday
The tasting menu here is fabulous and its a great way to spend an afternoon. Great place to bring friends and visitors from out of town. Both wine & food are excellent
Great ambiance, knowledgeable staff in explaining both the wines & food they are paired with.
The food is, in a word is outstanding!!!
I look forward to this event every year & have recommended St. Francis to many of my friends!
Absolutely fabulous setting. Ample wines pours and as much as they would like the wine to be the star of the show, the food was phenomenal. With that said, it was made even better by the wines. The only thing that would have made it better was bigger portions of both! Small intimate setting. Also, have an open mind - I was not excited about a few things on the menu and surprised myself at how much I enjoyed them!
Wonderful group seating very informative about the wines. I will definitely be back.
The Food & Wine Pairing was a special experience. We got to taste some wonderful wines and learn a little bit about them, and also sample some yummy food. It was also an opportunity to interact with other food and wine loving people in a relaxed and intimate environment.
Way too rushed to enjoy our wine and food pairings.🙁
I joined the St Francis Wine Club after my second visit to the winery. Wether it’s food or wine you seek this place sits at the top of my lists.
Beautiful surroundings and perfect service and food. Lots of info on the wine, food that was chosen to be paired with the wine and about the countryside and vineyard, but not too much to be overwhelmed. A very special experience indeed and we look forward to doing it again!
The Wine/Food pairing is absolutely fabulous! This was my second time to enjoy it and was as excited as the first time. Lovely wines with the perfectly selected food pairings!
Food and wine pairing was outstanding. Food beautifully presented and delicious. Staff very knowledgeable. Chef joined us st the end to answer questions.
Lovely lunch tasting experience. We had wanted to try the reserve wines and this seemed an ideal way to do it. The food was a bonus. Turns out, the food was fantastic, paired perfectly with a selection of white and red wines from the collection. The duck confit dish was my favorite, but the dessert pairing was my friend's favorite dish. The setting was lovely, set in a large room with floor to ceiling windows with opposing semi circular tables. The hostesses were well informed, personable, and balanced the flow of the meal very well. I would recommend to anyone looking for a delightful wine and food pairing. Well worth the money. Lasted about 90 minutes and started us off on the right foot for wine tasting in the region.
A truly stellar experience. Rene our host was very knowledgeable and hospitable. The food and wine pairings were spot on. I recommend keeping all your wines to try with the different courses. Excellent.
Start to finish, it was a wonderful experience.
As always, the wine-food pairing was a fantastic experience. Sometimes it will be four out the five courses that are outstanding, with one being so-so. This time all five were wonderful. I criticized my last visit (well, it was more poking fun and mocking than criticizing) for overdoing the description and role of the ingredients. E.g., ". . . and he added a little X to offset the sweetness of the Y and a little Z to offset the tartness of the X and a little P to complement the tanginess of the Z and a little Q to compliment the effect of the P, etc. etc. etc." This time they had cut way back on that so that it was much less pretentious and easier to understand and actually taste. Five stars plus, as usual. The new chef is doing a great job. I think he can land them a third "Best in the whole U.S." ranking.
We enjoyed the pairing. Great people. The first theee dishes were great, the last one with a tomato and burger was sub par , a disappointment.
Chef Bryan rocked it, the new chef needs to step it up.
St. Francis lunch is a wine first scenario. This is where they start. From there, they craft the right food selection to match and complement the wine. An amazing experience!
This is top notch from beginning to end. It is worth being persistent to finally land a reservation. Every dish is gourmet stellar and menu changes with the seasons
This was a wonderful time enjoying the tasting and wine pairing. It was a really great experience.
Excellent food and wine pairing. Tried a few foods I don't normally eat and they were delicious. Great experience to match food and wine.
We did the Food and Wine Pairing and wow! This was an incredible meal and all around experience. Highly suggest getting there a little early and walking around the vineyards before your tasting begins - it is a truly beautiful setting. This experience is a 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings, but the portions were very good sizes (see pictures). I only got 3 pictures because the other two courses were so delicious, I couldn't wait to eat them. The pictures don't do the food justice. Just know that it was the best meal we had in Sonoma! HIGHLY recommend!
The wine and food pairing at St Francis is amazing. Of course the wine is superb, but the food is mouth watering too. The Duck Confit is the best duck we’ve ever had. The service was educational and well done.
New chef does not quite have the food and wine pairing down like the previous chef did who was amazing. A hard act to follow. But still a very memorable experience
This experience was a phenomenal wine/food pairing. We tried some of their best wines along with little bites of amazing food from their head chef (who came out at the end to answer questions). It was a perfect event during our honeymoon!
Good food. The rave reviews are unwarranted and overstated. The food was good but not great. Every molecule was described. Wine not so good - even w/ wine pairing, good food did not elevate the wine.
The food and wine pairing was fantastic. As always.
Our group of four enjoyed the food and wine pairing. Every course was delicious!
Fantastic food and wine pairing. The food was delicious and unique. The wine went well with each course and the setting was intimate, allowing for conversations and questions with our hostess. Truly an unforgettable meal. The chef joined us as the end of the meal to explain his ingredients and food choices, which made the event all the more memorable. Great job.
We attended the wine and food pairing lunch. The food was creative and delicious. The wine was fabulous and the information and service by the staff valuable.
The five-course wine and food pairing was everything we had hoped. The food was locally sourced, fresh, and creative, and each course was paired with an amazing St. Francis wine. The entire two-hour dining experience was wonderful, and I would recommend it for anyone that enjoys great food and wine. Plan ahead. Reservations are needed and fill up quickly. Plan ahead.
I do the St Francis wine & food pairing every year. The food is always creative and delicious. The wine is also wonderful. Overall a great experience in a very beautiful setting.
I have always loved the food and wine pairing here but this time instead of every course being fabulous, the food was merely okay. There is a new chef. Will try it perhaps once more and see if it can go back to fabulous
We’re members of this winery. We loved the previous chef Brian and the one before him. The new one is good, but not as sophisticated flavors and pairings. We will be back to try again. We love the staff, the wines and the winery. Renee is the best
The wine pairing lunch is amazing. The experience is wonderful on every level. The dining room seats only 16 people and overlooks the beautiful vineyard. The hosts are fun and knowledgeable and review each course and wine. The food is beautifully presented and covers a range of local ingredients. I would come here every month if I lived nearby.
Outstanding pairing of food and wine. All food was exceptional and wines were premium.
The food is delicious and beautifully presented. Each wine paired well and we enjoyed the experience. It's expensive but a nice special occasion treat.
This is a special treat when out of town friends, who love good wine, come to town!
Wine and food tasting was fabulous! Every bite and sip divine! Just a tiny bit rushed would be my only complaint.
This was one of the loveliest experiences I have had in the wine country. Exquisite cuisine paired with exceptional wine. Would highly recommend this experience. The breathtaking setting, fabulous service, delectable cuisine and wine selections, ambiance, and special attention to detail was all excellent!
Our third visit and still great.
We were nervous about the new chef, but he was wonderful.
We came here 6 months ago and it was so wonderful that we came again but we were very disappointed this time~come to find out that they have a new chef which explains the major problem.
It is sad when we both agreed that the only good things were the vanilla ice cream with the huckleberry sauce and the port.
The lobster chow mein had very little flavor ~ just the 3 small bites of lobster tasted deceit.
The pan seared white sea bass was cooked too long and was dried out.
The duck confit was dry also.
The worst was the beef and pork “meatloaf” that was served in a weird bowl and was hard and not worth a second bite.
The wines were OK but nothing special.
At the end the hosts said if we wanted another sip of wine to let them know, so my HH asked one host for a bit more of the port. Nothing happened, so after a few minutes he asked the other host for a bit more but again she brought nothing. After we left the table and we were standing at the register paying, my HH said aloud, that it would have been nice to have more port. So as we were leaving, suddenly a host brings a glass of port to which my HH replied that it was too late now since we were leaving.
We will NOT come back because $72 a person for ice cream, sauce and port, is too expensive and besides there was the poor service.
The only good thing to say was they did a nice job at preparing gluten free dishes for me~too bad they did not taste good.
