There’s a reason this restaurant is so famous. Amazing steak, wine, dessert, shrimp cocktail. Highly recommend.
Loved 90% of everything, disappointing to see men in ball caps and T-shirts.
We loved everything about it and we will most definitely be back when we are in town again!
We always enjoy St Elmo’s. The atmosphere is always great. We ate in the lower level this time. Very cool. We requested George to be our waiter however he was off that day. Bummer. Food was fantastic. Filet Oscar was awesome. We had the Blueberry Peach Pie ala mode for dessert. OMG. Of course the shrimp cocktail never disappoints.
This is an iconic restaurant. I have loved it in the past but it’s been a while for me to be in Indy. However, not worth the prices. The shrimp cocktail is also iconic for the cocktail sauce. After that, everything else is overpriced. The bone in filet was $59 and brought out “blue” in the middle instead of the medium I ordered. When a steak is $59 it should be perfect let alone 3 levels below what was ordered. The offered to recook the same steak but I was so turned off by accidentally putting raw meat in my mouth that I was done. I did receive a free dessert (eye roll). My daughter did not enjoy her flat iron either. After a $350 dinner for 3 the joke in the car on the way home was that we should have gone to White Castle. Would probably been happier and saved $340. Lol. If you need the shrimp so bad, go next door to Harry & Izzy’s owned by the same people. Order the same shrimp and have a better selection of entrees.
Its not like it use to be. I dont think i will be back. I had to send my steak back and i NEVER had to send my back here. The taste is just not how it use to be whichcwas the face of Indiana. Sadly to say its not the face of Indiana in my opinoin. Its so many other cheaper places in areas with better taste. Sorry but i hate to say that St. Elmos really let me down. To say that coming from a steak eating person like me this was hard to say.
Food and Service Excellent. However very noisy in the dinning area Hard to talk and enjoy dinner
Best steak dinner I have ever had. Shrimp cocktail is a must.
Great experience at St Elmo’s. I have heard many people say it is the best steak house in Indy. Service outstanding and I will be back. Only constructive criticism would be the noise level in the dining area.
The steaks were exceptional as usual. Mark, our waiter, was wonderful. The shrimp cocktail was blazing hot as always! Everyone in our party agreed it was as good as a meal could possibly be. St. Elmo remains our favorite steakhouse!
The experience was exceptional as always.
I especially want to thank April. one of the managers, for giving us a tour. We had friends in from Boise Idaho and they really enjoyed the experience..
Thank you April..
Extraordinary food and environment! Definetely the best place in Indy
Just for the shrimp, if you like horseradish! Service was rushed and waiter seemed like he was not interested in anything more than turning the table. Definitely a tourist trap and a one time stop while in town. Better steak at other places at the same price.
The waitstaff were amazing. The food was great. I like a menu that is limited to a few great items.
Best meal I’ve ever eaten! If you are ever in Indy it’s a must!
The best steakhouse I have been to in my life !!!!!!!
Took a friend who had not been before, primarily for the shrimp cocktail. They were delicious as usual and had our eyes watering. Bread not very fresh, but the soup was delicious and hot which felt good as the ac was cranked. Steaks and sides were fantastic if not a bit pricey when you load your potato or upgrade your soup given the price of the steak. It is really good steak. The entry/bar/seating has a cool vibe and I like what they are going for in the dining rooms, but I was struck by the rather dingy carpet on the floor. It helps attenuate noise, but detracted from the ambience.
First time being there and have to say the last . Service was great first off . However the worst tasting filet I’ve ever eaten . Flavor was awful and came out damn near raw .

The place is great
Excellent service. It was nice being able to reserve the table online and getting right in!!! Our server was on her A game and the food was excellent!!!! Must get the shrimp cocktail coupled with a ribeye!!!
We were in Indi for a Monday meeting and I had to take my wife to St Elmo’s. She had never been. True to form the meal and service were exceptional. They steaks are always perfect and the shrimp cocktail was.. well St Elmos shrimp cocktail. Nothing else needs to be said about that.
The service was excellent. We weren’t rushed and it was a long luxurious meal with great conversation. My wife wasn’t disappointed as I knew she wouldn’t be. While an expensive place for dinner I think it’s better than any other steak house in the world including Any place in Chicago you could name.
The shrimp cocktail is worth all the hype! But everything here was truly fabulous - the service, the cocktails, the steak and the desserts. A highlight of our first trip to Indianapolis!
I love St. Elmo’s it is one of my favorite steakhouses of all time. Can’t wait to come back!
Love this steak house! The food is wonderful and it is just a fun place to go no matter what the occasion. I live the shrimp cocktail and my steak is always perfect.
Wonderful food everytime and a very attentive staff.
Our server, Rick was great and his assistant too. The food was wonderful. I'll definitely go back the net time I'm in Indy!
FOOD WAS AS ADVERTISED, STAFF WAS FRIENDLY PROFESSIONAL, WOULD RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO TRY IT ONCE. JOB WELL DONE CALVIN
The experience ever! The service and food quality is the best! Every time we are in Indy it’s a must stop!
I've been here several times and Everytime I leave I am disappointed in the service. I had to ask for a refill of ice tea three times. It has been the same Everytime. Steak was good, service wasn't.

It’s been a while since I have been to St Elmo’s and definitely did not disappoint! Service was phenomenal between the “Richard Gere” look a like at the bar to our sever. The South African lobster tails were exquisite along with everything else. We will be back sooner rather than later!
Incredible food and atomosphere. Best steak in the country! The staff was impeccable. Love the location. Would highly recommend to all foodies.
Super slow service, but it was 8:00 on a Friday. Waited over 10 minutes to order a drink.

Great food as always. Only fault, we had to ask for bread.
Not the first time we have been there, and I have always thought it was overrated and overpriced. Went this time because it was a birthday for one of my two teenagers, and it was their first visit. The steaks are way overpriced for what you get, and the green beans that came with them were indifferent. Also felt rushed - in and out in 75 minutes. An average experience with a really big bill.

I had no problem making a reservation for a party of 14. Sat us in the wine cellar downstairs. Food, service and ambiance was amazing as always.
We had a wonderful server named Will and really enjoyed conversation and the extra effort he put in to his service At our table
I travel all over the U. S. and eat at great restaurants in every city I visit. This was the best overall experience of my restaurant life. The hostess greeted us with the biggest smile and accommodated our request to edit our reservation then April Denny, the Manager, made sure we were settled in and everything was perfect as she shared her story about St. Elmo’s. Jake Hart, our waiter, was absolutely phenomenal. He explained the entire menu while telling his version of the St. Elmo’s story and making incredible recommendations on what we should eat. When they learned we were wine enthusiasts they took us on a guided tour of the incredible wince cellar and then finished a wonderful meal off with Jake’s personal chocolate martini recipe (we had 3 each). After the amazing dinner, we ventured upstairs to the 1933 lounge where we continued to enjoy incredible cocktails and service. Highly recommend this place and especially April and Jake.
Birthday dinners are special here
Everything from the arriving to leaving was better than could be expected. The food and the service could not have been any better.
