We make it to Indianapolis once a year. St. Elmo’s is the first place we go. Server Jeff Pierce was amazing and every bite of food was better than the first. Do yourself a favor and eat here.
My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary when we dined here. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Our only non-positive was that the level of noise in the restaurant was above what we would have preferred for intimate conversation. Staff was well versed in the menu and very professional. We will go back again before our next anniversary.
This was the first time my son and his friend had been there and he like it for his birthday dinner. Service was great and getting his birthday card from the staff and dessert with a candle was the highlight of the meal.
Awesome service and fantastic food! It was pretty loud but overall great experience and will definitely be back!
St Elmo’s never disappoints. Wonderful food, excellent service and tons of character. What a classic!
Even though we are from Ohio this is my third time there in the last 6 months. As usual- outstanding. We had 8 golfing buddies there to celebrate one of our guys 60th. Elmo's and Jason White were once again exceptional. If you like a good sense of humor from your server plus a perfectly paced meal coupled with some great suggestions just see Jason- Jason White, and your good to go. Cocktails- excellent. Steaks- excellent. Sides- excellent. And of course, the famous Shrimp Cocktail- excellent. Hey Elmo's management my only small issue is that you gotta get Jason out of the basement. He's the best but I really prefer the upstairs rooms don't make me pick......
Excellent has always, bone-in-steak was fantastic!
I last dined at St Elmo 46 years ago. To my delight it is just as good now as then. And the shrimp cocktail is still incredible!
Absolutely perfect! The wait staff is top notch and our waiter Scott was fantastic! This is a must if you are in Indy! Come hungry...very hungry!
We went out for dinner for Father's Day. My husband had to work late, so we were grateful there was a 9:30pm reservation. The server, Amy, was very courteous and attentive. We will def be back!
I’m hit and miss with blue cheese dressing. Theirs is outstanding on their wedge salad. I like the option of a 3 course menu on Sundays. Not really a young children friendly place. The 4 layer chocolate cake reserved for parties is also pretty awesome as well.
My second visit. My first experience was exceptional last night not so much. Had to send my steak back for being way over cooked. The wait staff is first class.
As always food was great. Did feel like things had lost a little of the “classiness” St. Elmo’s is know for. Shrimp Cocktail not presented the same as it was and the shrimp seemed to be smaller. But the service was extraordinary as always.
Great food and service. It was our wedding anniversary and they enjoyed the moment with us. If you can, request Bill Shine to be your server.
We decided to dine at St. Elmo's for fathers day and had a fantastic experience. None of us had been there before since we live in Cincinnati and were visiting. One of their signature items is the Shrimp Cocktail. I get why it's a signature dish, and I certainly recommend trying it, but I won't be ordering it again myself.
The night we were there they had a 60 day dry aged ribeye available. It is not an understatement to say it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Cooked medium rare to perfection. All of the food was excellent. The service was polite, entertaining, and exceptionally prompt.
Overall our experience was a very good one. We will certain return in the future when we are visiting Indianapolis.
I don't like to complain. We were celebrating and had a gift card. First time here. I know it's a well known steakhouse but I wasn't impressed. I prefer capital grille.
My dry aged prime NY Strip had almost a rancid flavor
The food and service at St. Elmo are stellar and have yet to be matched in my experience. This is simply the best meal you can have in a restaurant. Glenn is, without a doubt, the man. If you ever have the chance to get to St. Elmo, DO IT. You won't regret it. Phenomenal place!
Just what you would expect of a top-notch steak house. Great cocktails, food and atmosphere.
Love this place! Great food and superb service from Andy Cooper!!!
From start to finish everything was delicious. The horseradish as we all know is hot but well worth it. Had the ribeye and cooked to perfection.
St. Elmo's fell a little bit short of our expectations. We were not seated until about 30 minutes after our reservation time, and our party of seven was seated at a table that could accommodate six comfortably, but not seven. We were crowded in. Our server was exceptional and very knowledgeable. He was quick and efficient without being overly intrusive. The food was very good, from the appetizers through the desserts. If there was one problem with the food, it was the quantity - too much! Would anyone really eat a 38 ounce prime rib? No one in our party could finish their meal. I guess it looks really impressive to have large steaks on the menu, but it is a waste of food (and money). Overall, dinner at St. Elmo's was very good, but not head and shoulders above other restaurants with similar prices.
St Elmo's did not disappoint!!!!! We had an early Fathers day dinner and it was amazing.
Of course the shrimp cocktail was sinus clearing and wonderful. The steaks were cooked to perfection. One of the best Filet's I have ever had!
My wife and I went here for our Anniversary. It was quite the experience. The shrimp cocktail is a must get on every visit! We live two hours away but I would drive farther for the quality of meal, atmosphere and our waitress was the best. The 28 oz Porterhouse was the best steak I have ever eaten! Beware of the spice in the cocktail sauce! We will definitely make this trip 3 - 4 time a year now!
It exceeded all expectations!!! Definitely will be back again. The experience was Awesome.
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME. We didn't wait long for our food either. Food was fresh and tasted amazing
We had a great experience with Jordan as our waiter. We loved the shrimp cocktail. Handling and enjoying the spice was fun. Pork chops and navy bean soup were good too. I enjoyed the chopped steak but it was a little undercooked. Gorgonzola sauce was great.
From the moment you walk in you know you are in for a special night. Phillip was an amazing member of the superb wait staff. He was friendly without being intrusive, knowledgeable without being obnoxious, and attentive without being bothersome. The food was fresh and amazingly delicious. From the signature shrimp cocktail, to the scrumptious wedge salad, navy bean soup, succulent medium rare ribeye, loaded baked potato, to the incredibly satisfying peach-blueberry pie a la mode! Oh my goodness!
Expecting exceptional food and atmosphere but disappointed by the amount of food for extravagant expense. Potatoes average, steak was good, green beans had a weird taste. Service was average. Took longer than expected to get our food. Will not be going back.
Me and my wife of 5 years chose St. Elmo for our 5th anniversary dinner before going to the theater. It was by far the best experience in dining we have had. It made our anniversary memorable and relaxing. I cannot remember the gentleman’s name who served us, but if he gets to read this that would be awesome.
I took 5 people that are customers of mine including the owner of the company, a co-worker, and myself out for a good dinner and we were all more than satisfied with the ambiance, drinks, food, and experience. A great place to sincerely say thank you to a good customer.
Our friends had never been to St Elmo's and we suggested there as we always make it a definite dinner spot when we are in Indy. They "had" to try the shrimp cocktail, and "loved" it!
The experience was amazing. The food was phenomenal and worth the cost. Love coming here when I’m in town!
Our prime ribs were horrible. I have eaten here several times. Always top notch. This was a disappointing visit. Steaks were over 50% fat.
The food was wonderful & the waitstaff was outstanding! Bill took good care of us - he was watchful without being obtrusive. He even took us on a tour of St. Elmo’s. We had a wonderful time & will be back!!
Our experience was wonderful. Our server went above and beyond to make our dining experience special. The lobster bisque was delicious and our steaks were perfectly cooked.
In Indianapolis with my wife decided to try St. Elmo's for a good steak. And it was well worth it. The steak was cooked perfect and the service is very good. Best steak that I have had in a long time.
Spectacular! Great old time Chop House. Excellent food, service. Best shrimp cocktail ever.
