St. Elmo Steak House Ratings and Reviews
The best steak ever. Shrimp cocktail was amazing as ever. It is still over-priced a bit no matter how good it is. $220 for 2 people with ZERO alcoholic drinks AND a FREE dessert is a little over the top. $52 for a 12 oz filet?? Come on now. Let’s get real. It’s still great tho. It’s a once a year meal due to the price however.
We were there to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Our table was ready, even an little early which was nice. The hostesses were friendly and we were escorted to our table. The service was great and Adam, our server, was courteous and aware if anything we needed. The special Sunday 3 course menu was new to us and we both chose from that menu. Everything was very good and it was a nice addition to the St. Elmo’s regular menu. We always enjoy coming to St. Elmo’s for our special occasions, and we will continue to do so. Thank you St. Elmo’s for a wonderful evening.
We all had the "Sunday Special" It is a very good deal, you had choice of wedge salad(1/4) or Shrimp cocktail (3), 3 different entrees (with upgrade to larger options) we all chose the upgrade to the 14oz. Strip, and dessert (smaller portion) for $48. Great deal, loved the wedge (bacon was fantastic!) The steaks didn't seem to be quite as tender as usual, still very good, but not great. The dessert was spot on, 1/2 order of Crème Brule, and smaller Chocolate layer cake (rich). The service was it's usual outstanding attention to detail. All in all a fine evening.
My wife & I were celebrating our birthdays, which are just 2 days apart. Our waiter (David?) was amazing, gave us great insight as to our options and choices, and his knowledge of the dry aging process prompted me to try the dry aged strip. Best Steak I have EVER had! My wife had the surf & turf and loved both the steak and lobster. Our waiter also made my wifes day after he said "Mahalo" as we were leaving to her after she mentioned that she grew up in Hawaii. The shrimp cocktail is a must have. Also, big thanks to the chef who sent us out a complimentary crème brulee with birthday candles on it for us! Excellent food, and amazing staff makes it a destination dinner!
We dined at St. Elmo just this passes Saturday and had an absolute wonderful time. Lorenzo was our server & there's a reason why he's been there so long, he was the BEST! Our drinks were perfect our steaks were perfect and the atmosphere was perfect. Thank you so much to all the staff, we will definitely be back!
The restaurant is fabulous. Drove 70 miles just for dinner. We brought 2 friends with us so they could experience the amazing shrimp cocktail and steaks. Our server really jelled with us. We were having a good time and he chimed in perfectly with every aspect of our conversation we had with him. He is a true compliment to to your restaurant. Jason White was our server. We will be back again.
I love this place! Glen, our waiter, was professional, funny, knowledgable and very kind. He made our evening memorable and the food was excellent! We came for our anniversary dinner and the staff went above and beyond. The South African lobster tails are out of this world, and of course, the filet is amazing. We will definitely be coming back.
We started our night in the lounge and it was very nice with live music. Our buzzer went off and we went down to the resturant to eat. This is where things turned a little. We wasnt sure what to expect but we was put in the middle of a large room. This was not very private for two people to have a nice quiet dinner. The room was loud and it was hard for us to talk. I will ask for better seats next time. The food and srvice however was outstanding!
I have been to St. Elmo's numerous times and I can say that this was my worst experience. It wasn't bad, it was just not as good as in the past. We had a party of 8 and some of our steaks were not cooked as ordered and a few of them seemed like they say under the heat lamps a little too long. There was some lengthy gaps between courses. So this may have led to the quality of our meal. Disappointing, but will not keep me from going again, the next time I am in Indy.
My first time at St Elmo was fantastic! From the food to the waiter (Jason) to the ambiance, and of course the shrimp cocktail, it was all top notch. My party of 3 were still talking about it the next day about how good it was, not just the food, but the whole experience. Thank you Jason, and St Elmo!
We went to this Indianapolis institution for our Mom's birthday and everything about the experience was terrific. Incredibly friendly service from the cooks to the wait staff. We really enjoyed the navy bean soup appetizer that comes with the entree. The salads were fresh and tasty, the steaks were perfectly cooked, and the smoked pork chops were amazing. Our waiter was incredibly and made great suggestions for places to visit. Overall, a terrific experience that I recommend to anyone who loves well-prepared steak.
I have never had a bad meal at St. Elmo's. Since I don't live in Indy it is a real treat for me when in town. Make reservations well in advance especially if there is an event in town or you will not get in, it is that popular. I took two newbies this time and they both are now believers. George was our waiter and did an outstanding job for us. If you have never been, check it out! Pricey, but worth every penny.
