Always a great meal from service to food to drinks!
The food and shrimp cocktail lived up to what i hear. Highly recommend. JUAN was our waiter and he did an awesome job. Will definitely go back.
I have heard about this place for years and typically opted for the sister restuarnt a few doors down...This was well worth the wait. Easily one of the top 5 steaks in America. Service was fantastic and the meal was amazing.
Great evening was greeted right away and no wait for our reserved table. Service staff was prompt with our needs.
Been wanting to try St. Elmos for sometime and finally got the opportunity to on a trip to Indianapolis, and it did not disappoint . We were seated quickly upon arrival and quickly served drinks once our orders were placed the food came out in a timely manner and was cooked perfectly and was delicious I will definitely be going back my next time in Indianapolis. A quick tip if you order their famous shrimp cocktail ask for the cocktail sauce on the side I wasn't aware that the shrimp came already covered in the sauce and while I absolutely love spicy foods the sauce in a good size amount was almost too much for me to handle but definitely a must try while at this wonderful steakhouse.
Top notch local steakhouse. Makes my list of Top 10 in the country. I always say this meal with bring tears to your eyes and the Shrimp always does. Outstanding!
We ate at Saint Elmo's before attending Les Miserables. Our waiter was amazing, as was my fillet mignon and lobster bisque. Our drinks were incredible and we can't wait to return
The food was amazing. George, our waiter, did a phenomenal job. George gave us a tour of the place as well which made our experience even better. Can't wait to come back and spend some more time in the lounge upstairs.
St Elmos should reduce their portion sizes and thus lower the price. The portions are WAY more than the average person could or should eat.
Best known for their steaks but the pork chops are awesome!!
Wonderful service and an amazing meal! We will definitely be back again!
I now know why this restaurant has been in business for so long. It lives up to its great reputation. I will be back!
I had an opportunity to spend a couple of days with my wife. I wanted to treat her to the best steak hose in Indy, and we weren't disappointed. It was awesome. service was awesome and the food was awesome. Thank you for a great experience.
This was our first experience at this restaurant and we were both impressed with the food and service. The food was really exceptional with some of the best flavors we've had in the Midwest. The steak choices were outstanding. Their Shrimp Cocktail was really unique and full of flavor. The Caesar had a strong traditional taste, which both my wife and I really enjoyed. I had the Filet and it was cooked perfectly at medium with a nice glaze on the outside beautiful color on the inside. The red mashed potatoes parred with the steak and greens so well.
Getting the valet parking was ideal. No need to drive around to look for parking. Classic layout and authentic photos helped set the mood. It would have been nice to have a booth or a little more privacy, but overall the spacing was decent and the other conversation around didn't seem to bother the atmosphere.
The staff was really nice and everyone welcomed us. In fact, the staff all signed a card for us at our table, which helped make the night ever more special.
We have a great meal and service. Only thing was we were sat at a small table for 4 and really was not enough room to eat without feeling uncomfortable
Everything I remembered and more! Ofcourse the Shrimp Cocktail was divine and the steak was perfect. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a wonderful steak and wonderful service. Time and circumstances have kept me away, but I will be back again and again.
Great service and food was spot on, great afternoon with the family
We love coming to St. Elmo's. Food is always fabulous and our waiter, Vladamir J. is awesome! We enjoy him serving us. We make a over two hour drive to come to St. Elmo's a couple times a year. The food is superb! Atmosphere is superb!
We arrived an hour early for our reservation so we went to the 1933 lounge for some pre dinner drinks. Service up there was wonderful. When we were seated we were lead to the bottom floor of the restaurant. My date was hesitant about our table but it ended up being a lovely quite spot. Our server Vladimir was wonderful. He recommended some bourbon (four roses #5) off their select list and it was delicious. We both got the filet which were cooked perfectly and I made a last minute change to my side which was accommodated with no hesitation. We will be making this a yearly birthday tradition!
Outstanding food and service. Glenn took good care of my date and myself!! I highly recommend St. Elmo’s steakhouse to family and friends. Hope to return at the end of April. I have been a customer for a good ten years now. Always a good time!
Drove down from Fort Wayne and met our best friends that drove in from Chicago and our son and his girlfriend that go to school in Indy. Had a fantastic dinner. Their famous shrimp cocktail will clear your sinuses. Filets are prepared perfectly. Well worth the drive.
This was our first visit and we were highly impressed. We celebrated a birthday during this visit and the staff made us feel special. The food was great and the staff was excellent. We plan on visiting again during our next trip to the Indy area.
It pays to have a reservation! We tried walking in for a table back in November and were put at a table in the middle of where everyone walked. Sat there for 10 minutes and nobody came to give us a menu or take our drink order. We walked out. Made a reservation this time for our anniversary and were treated like royalty! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with "Happy Anniversary" and received that greeting another 4 times! Seated at a nice intimate candlelit corner. Our waiter, Mark (looked and sounded like Mike from Breaking Bad!), was very efficient, funny, and kind. My husband ordered the dry aged rib-eye and I had the dry aged new york strip. Both were cooked perfectly and melted in our mouths! Will definitely be back and will definitely make a reservation first!
I have never had a bad meal or a bad evening when I have eaten here. Love this place. I can't wait to go back.
The food was fabulous! Get the shrimp cocktail!
Great place for a celebration! Anniversary, Birthday or other occasion! The wait staff makes you feel like you are a king or queen when you dine here!! One of the few high end steak houses that I feel is WELL worth the money. Our waiter had been there 27 years and he noted 7 others that were 25 year employees or longer. That says a lot! Incredibly well versed on the menu items, wines and offering things or ideas that weren't on the menu. If you like your steak well done or you like soda for dinner...Don't come here! It would be a big waste of money! Go to Texas Roadhouse or one of the other chains. Their steaks are aged for 45 days and all that effort and flavor are gone if you go much above Medium. I don't know how you would taste the steak with a sugary soda drink either!
We had the best experience at St Elmos last Saturday night. David was perfect. Everything was perfect. We really enjoyed our self and plan on returnin
Problem with my steak being overdone not once but twice. Drove 4 1/2 hours with high expectations and left leaving disappointed.
Really enjoyed the whole experience . The food was fantastic and the service was excellent! I will definitely be coming back
Excellent service! Food was good but the service was awesome!
Steaks and pork chops were very good. My husband's lobster tails were tough and undercooked. He sent them back and got a steak. The table of 6 people next to was was loud and obnoxious which kinda ruined our dining experience. Will, our waiter, was wonderful! We would recommend St. Elmo's.
St. Elmo's is a great place, and lives up to it's reputation. We took my son there for his 21st birthday and had a great time. Great food, great atmosphere, great service.
Had a very enjoyable experience. Our server was very friendly and extremely accommodating. The food was great as usual and can't wait to return!
Fantastic...... I took my wife here for dinner and it was her first time. Awesome food..... if you haven't been there you are really missing out
The ambience was amazing but the food was mediocre. I expected it to be amazing based on the reviews and its reputation but our steaks were bland and my lobster tail was way over cooked. Also, the famous shrimp cocktail sauce was overkill.
Great experience! We went to celebrate my husband's birthday and were well taken care of. The food was spectacular, steaks were cooked perfectly! Shrimp cocktail was on point, never disappoints. We got to sit in the wine cellar for an extra special experience and our waiter, Phillip, was very attentive and entertaining.
for more than 40 years the best stake house in the Midwest
Wait staff and hostess staff excellent. Good food , pricey but elegant. Would have liked for the manager to come and check how our experience was going. Also we were celebrating a reunion and it was not recognized. Overall good experience though.
my wife and I made reservations before Pacer game. We were seated fast and service was great. Food as always is top notch as is the service we received from hostess to servers. Top of the line menu and food is always just as we ordered. Recommend highly to friends and family for any occasion.
St Elmo’s is our favorite place to eat at in Indy. We love the other steakhouses as well but no one touches their Lobster Bisque and shrimp cocktail.
The steak is truly outstanding, along with every other type of food I've had there. The wait staff is absolutely extraordinary. Many (maybe most) of these guys have been at this restarant for years (several have been there for over 25 years!), and they have phenomenol knowledge of the city and state, as well as fascinating facts about the restaurant itself. They don't just take your order and bring your food-- they entertain with great stories and fun random facts. Our server told us about the booth we sat in-- it was the one where Steven Tyler sat before the Super Bowl, and we got to hear a story about that night. It's pricey, but worth every penny.
