I've been a long time supporter of St. Elmo's and will continue to be! The food has always been excellent as well as the service too. Other than than the steaks everything else was perfect. Unfortunatley instead of ordering my typical Classic Filet, I tried the Dry Aged Bone-In Filet.
It was terrible! (I would rate the steak that I had a 4.5 out of 10)
It was also very difficult for the Chef to cook it they way that you wanted as one of the steaks had to be sent back and cooked longer. Unfortunatley both steaks were marbled heavily with tendons...
Worst Steaks that I've ever had at St. Elmos...
Mentioned it to our waitress and the manager was very professional and unexpectedly removed them from the check. She had mentioned that they had served 170 Bone-In Filet steaks and we had the only two bad ones so far - lucky me with my business dinner.
I still Love St. Elmo's and will continue to frequent their restaurant, I'll just never order the Bone-In Filet again.
This was my second trip to st. ELMOS and it was amazing....i can't wait for another trip back and as usual the steak and shrimp cocktail were spot on!!!
The place was much louder than normal. We couldn’t hear our own conversation. Previous visits had more of a quiet cozy feel we enjoyed. We had never sat in this area and would not accept this area again. The service was much better than before and has always been great. i had to send the $60 ribeye back to cook longer, and then was still not well done the 2nd time. Was better, but well done is no pink.. this ribeye was reddish inside at first and pink the second. Not best of the best as i have experienced before. It was not the fault of the waiter. Despite the problems with the steak, he kept working his tail off to please us and made us feel like the only customers he had in a very crowded area. Very likely the best waiter anywhere ever. But the ribeye that I had returned for because it was the best i ever had.. was just average this trip.
The experience and food was quite good, great setting to talk business. Where the restaurant fell short was mostly to do with our server who did not mention the "Special" that had the same name as a regular dish was an extra $30 per plate. Spending $55 on a very good steak is kinda the top of my limit, even on business, but then getting an unexpected bill for $85 a steak times 5 people ruined the experience.
Overall our tables meals were good and the evening was great. Wine, aps and ambiance was great. Waiter was a superstar. I gave 4 stars. I love St Elmo’s.
The best steak house in INDY my husband had a huge steak and told me it was one of the best steak restaurants I've ever took him to.
Great food & great service
Sara Wessel: exemplary service!!!
The service and the food was wonderful, as always. George took great care of us.
Outstanding food and service. Always meets my expectations.
Undeniably the best mashed potatoes I’ve ever eaten. Absolutely awesome shrimp cocktail.
Incredible food and service. Our server Jordan was friendly and knowledgeable about menu items and make excellent recommendations for the whole table.
As always, the food and service at St. Elmos was fantastic. Our waiter, Evan, was extremely knowledgeable and offered great advice on our wine and food selection. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
I was excited to take my daughter and her friend to St. Elmo's before deploying overseas, but was put in the basement under the air vent . The steak was overcooked (ordered medium) and was cold (it had to have sat for a good 15-20 min). I have typically had a positive experience at St. Elmo's, but unfortunately this will go down as one that wasn't positive.
Days later I’m still in awe. A fantastic experience for my wife’s and I anniversary!!
