   Andre provided excellent service. He was very responsive, attentive, and helpful with suggestions. Everyone was extremely friendly and the food was fantastic. The restaurant was a little noisy, but it's just because everyone was enjoying themselves. Definitely a treat!

   Our server,Katie, was positively fantastic. Answered our questions about types of steak allowing us to make the best choice for us. At the end took us on a short tour and explained some of the pics on the walls. She made the experience fabulous

   Table of 4 for business. We were relegated to a table in the basement which wouldn’t have been the end of the world, but then we were also stuck in a corner behind the stairs so it wasn’t very pleasant. Fast forward, servers were great, even the guy who’s first day it was, food was pretty good as well. Not winning a James Beard or Michelin Star, but respectable old place. The real nail in the coffin wasn’t the overpriced food (you’re paying for the history), but the fact that they kicked us off of our table and asked us to move to another spot in the basement just a few minutes after I paid. We were finishing our dessert, one of my guests had gone to the restroom, but they had “a large party” coming in that needed our four person table so they asked us to move. How awkward and weird and inconsiderate, especially since we were probably only going to be there for 10 more minutes. Just terrible experience from the main house staff and management, the new waiter was the only pleasant part and not enough to get me to return and oh $600+ for four people. Go to the steakhouse right next door, been there before and 1000x better all around.

    Fantastic place we were a big party and ate very early. The only complaint was they wanted to take plates too soon after we got our food. Just felt rushed but understand they are a very busy place and would certainly come back!

    I made a reservation but a seat was open at the bar so I took that instead. Service was great, food was amazing and wine was very tasty. Portions are large so next time I’ll skip the salad and get straight to that filet!

    It's been a while since I last visited St. Elmo's, so I was looking forward to a terrific meal and overall experience. I ordered a beer from a somewhat similar selection. However, before I could enjoy more than a couple sips of the beer, my shrimp cocktail came out. It was tasty and as I remembered. I had the bean soup, a BLT salad and a filet (8 oz.), medium-plus. The soup bowl was filled just over half-way. The soup was okay but a "skin" developed on the top of it, as if it had sat for a brief time. The salad was very good, although a little over-dressed. The steak? Medium rare-to-rare. Why didn't I send it back? Time and, well, it's St. Elmo's and I didn't want to go through the hassle in front of my boss. Once we finished our meal, we may have gotten dessert ... if the waiter hadn't disappeared for close to 15-20 minutes. Too long a post-meal delay. By the time he finally re-appeared, we asked for the check. A disappointing return visit.

    The receptionists were pleasant & timely. Brian was our server. Isaac cleared the table as we finished courses. This is our 2nd time at St. Elmo & we will definitely return. We timed our dinner as a stop from Chicago to Bloomington, IN. Delicious.

    Just gets better each time. Traveled and dined throughout this country and without a doubt St. Elmo’s just gets it. From service to food quality- hands down #1. Can’t say enough how I observed the staff make each guest feel as comfortable as tho they were dining at home. Great people, great meal. Wish I lived closer.

    Food is 10/10, quality tasting and well-cooked. The only gripe I had was how rushed we were by the server- they had us out within an hour after hoping to just take our time and have a mellow experience (had a 9:45 reservation, so not during peak hours by any means). Other than that very good; they also forgot to bring us bread but that shouldn’t stop ya from going! Wine selection was fantastic

    You must try the shrimp cocktail. The steaks are great as was the pork chop. My wife said it was the best filet she has ever had. My daughter-in-law's pork chop was the best I have ever tasted. The wait staff are very attentive without being a nuisance.

    We were in town for a show and this restaurant was recommended to us. The steak was good but not spectacular. For the prices I would say go to Ruth Chris. The ambience was good and the servers very professional and attentive.

    In my opinion the best steakhouse in Indy! We go for special occasions. The service is top notch, the atmosphere is amazing and the food absolutely delicious. If you have a big party try to reserve the rooms downstairs in the wine cellar. Much quieter and private. You must have the shrimp cocktail and the bean soup. Be careful how you order your steak since they do cook on the more rare side than the usual run of the mill steak houses. Otherwise the steaks are wonderful. My mom loved the chicken entree and the pork dish looked amazing too. Be sure the get the crime Brûlée. Yum!! They set high expectations for the whole experience which always stands out. We will definitely go back for our special dinners since this place is a gem in the heart of Indy.

    Just in for VeeCon. We wanted to experience this famous steakhouse. I had a dry aged ribeye and my business partner had a dry aged porterhouse. They just weren’t great cuts of meat. We both had lobster, which was good. The famous shrimp cocktail was on point. Server was a cool dude but service was slow. For reference, we travel for a lot of conferences and been to at least 200 high end steakhouses in the country so we have realistic expectations. Kind of a bummer.

    I am from Missouri, had read about St Elmo's in magazines and was anxious to see if they lived up to their reputation. The ambiance was excellent, our waiter was very attentive and very personable and the quality of the food was superb. If you are planning on dining at St Elmo's I would suggest making reservations well in advance. We were there on a Thursday, and despite St Elmo's having seating for 450, the latest slot open three weeks in advance was for 5:30.

    First time visiting downtown Indianapolis & a friend recommended this place for dinner. Beyond delicious, service was impeccable and our waiter was so knowledgeable about the entire menu & drinks. The mashed potatoes & crab Mac and cheese was to die for. The rack of lamb was delicious too. You HAVE to order the bourbon ice cream for dessert. Literally tasted like a tres leches cake
