St. Clair Winery & Bistro Ratings and Reviews
The waiters were friendly, although not attentive. I had the steak Bearnaise. Was supposed to be med rare. Was extremely rare bordering on raw. Way over seasoned. The bearnaise sauce was more like cheese whiz from a jar. Vegetables were soggy and loaded with pepper. Came with 3 chewy shrimp. Overall not very good. My wife had pumpkin ravioli. She was not impressed. She enjoyed her wine. I had tea being the designated driver. Never offered a refill. Sorry, St Clair. We won’t be rushing back.
We almost always enjoy St. Clair, and we returned for the Thanksgiving Buffet. Admittedly, the food was not up to their high standards. It was good and enjoyable, but I think with the buffet outside, even on a warmer day, the steam escaped more quickly causing most food to be lukewarm at best.
The wine and drinks were spectacular though. We will still be back.
I was surprised to find multiple bones in my chicken & waffles, first time to experience that at any restaurant. Red Chile syrup was nice, could be spicier. I would like some red Chile powder in the batter on the chicken, but also prefer boneless chicken. Thanks to the manager for noticing we needed drink refills. Pumpkin ravioli is nice for those wanting a lighter meal.
The food and service were really good, and the meals are priced reasonably; however, the noise in the restaurant is overwhelmingly loud. We had a party of 6 and had to shout to each other at the table just to have a conversation. Our waitress had to speak very loudly to us and I felt sorry for her because she had to repeat her self so many times as she went around the table. Unfortunately because of the noise we will not be going back.
Wonderful experience! Pleasant atmosphere; grew steadily louder as the evening progressed, but never reached an uncomfortable level. Our server, Jonathan was very attentive and helpful without being overbearing. The food was brought promptly and was delicious. Looking forward to returning.
The restaurant seated us within five minutes of our reservation time and gave us a well placed table for two. Our server was very knowledgeable about each dish and the wines. My husband enjoyed the steak Bernaise and I, the grilled salmon. Portions were adequate, but not huge. Big plus was that we were afforded the opportunity to taste any wine. We loved the wines we tasted so much we bought six bottles and were given a ten percent discount on top of their reasonable price. We will return!
The server was friendly and accommodating. I had made a reservation for 5 and 6 came and the restaurant was very good about adding an unintentional guest at the last minute.
The guests seemed to be please with their food and especially pleased with the variety on the menu.
This was my second time eating at St Clair but the first time at this location. We made a reservation and showed up about 20 minutes early and were seated immediately. : ) The service was prompt and friendly and attentive to the right details. The food was well prepared and not your average fare - all at the table had the meatloaf and as the reviews had pointed us was not "your mothers meatloaf" but an interesting steak like variant and very tasty. Each of also had one of the wine flights that they had to choose from serving up their wines. All and all a very pleasant experience and will return.
We were on our way to AZ again this year so wanted to dine at your facility again since we were so impressed last year. We were alittle disappointed.
Last year we were able to sit on the patio which was fantastic. We had such an amazing time that we purchased 6 bottles of wine to take with us.
We had thought we'd repeat this but, due to the patio being used for a Salsa dance night, we had to sit inside which was noisy. Needless to say, after dinner, we left without purchasing any wine ( this was never even offered)!
The food was "so-so". The flank steak was tough and there wasn't much taste to the salmon.
The entrees were good. However, the cheese and fruit was an embarrassment. One tiny strawberry and one raspberry. The chocolate surrounding the plate, looked like it had just come out of a bag. We complained about it and nothing was done. This is ballon Fiesta season. Do you really want customers walking away with this type of food and service.
St Clair Bistro was really nice. A+ atmosphere, cleanliness, service, food (although soup de jour was no longer available at 6:30pm…). Thankfully we had been there the previous day for a wine tasting. If you like sweet wine this is your place. I say thankfully because at the tasting we did find a nice DH Lescombes Cabernet Franc that was great for our dinner meal. We would visit again.
I was disappointed that they not only pushed my reservation time back but sat several people that did not have reservations before us. It rained so the band was inside and it was way too loud in to be enjoyable. Couldn’t even carry a conversation with my friend. Asked for a speacial note because it was a friends birthday and they didn’t do it and failed to even acknowledge it. Manager was not very friendly when I complained either. I used to love this place and it will be a while before I go back. Was disappointed.
Our appetizer was served before we had received our drinks (or even water.) Dirty plates were left on our table all the way through paying our tab. This is service 101 stuff. C'mon. Get it dialed in. Simple training. It's not rocket surgery.
Food was pretty good. Serving of chicken was gigantic. Wine was interesting but not great. But, hey, they make their own. Points.
Starter cold, told waitress when she asked if it was okay, she apologised and said she would let the kitchen know, I had chicken, it was hot but the mash and veg was cool, my husband had a steak it was overdone, probably because it was so thin, his mash also cold, the waitress never came over, she seemed to be all over the place, I left most of my meal she took the plate away without asking if it was okay. Booked a table but still had to stand and wait, very busy.
The patio was overwhelmingly noisy and dirty. I felt that they should of at least power washed the patio before opening. The service was not great as our server was catering to other folks more than us. She was a nice girl but had the attention span of a third grader. The fans were blowing dust balls on our food, therefore we cut the night short and just left.
