Great location for the village - beautiful alpine setting and lodge - great selection of wine - beer - entrees in the Euro lodge manner. Hated to leave - the desserts were amazing.
Mediocre buffet food. Saw chef in bathroom, no hand washing after using restroom.
The Buffaloe Ribeyewith Huckleberry sauce was fantastic. The soup was a perfect Thai coconut curry that was as smooth as velvet. The service was very enjoyable and we had a wonderful evening.
Wonderful food and service and the ambience was great.
Incredible food and warm professional service. Amazing wine list. Talented and friendly chef, Brent. Very Euro feel tucked away in the mountains.
Nice buffet. Excellent service. Quiet and relaxing location. Extensive wine selection. Salad and clam chowder were fabulous. Salmon and duck were excellent. Elk ragu very tasty but a bit tough. Ribeye had good flavor but also little tough. Lemon bar very good. Would definitely eat here again.
Amazing New Year’s Eve dinner
Menu was not as exotic as on sample menu. Only three entree choices. Food was good for small Solitude Village. Service was great!
The food was good but really did not enjoy the buffet, pretty pricy
Tenderloin was outstanding, the rest of our dinner was good. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Nice relaxing ambiance. Would recommend.
The menu posted on Open Table was several years old. The restaurant had converted to a buffet style 2 years ago. The buffet selection was sparse and even with more than half of the restaurant empty, the kitchen could/did not replenish empty platters in a timely manner. We had to ASK to have food replenished. The cost of this mediocre buffet was $42/pp not including beverages. It was the worst $42 dinner we have ever eaten. We will not be back and we would definitely not recommend this establishment to anyone.
Beautiful, intimate atmosphere with really great food. If you’re sick of the norm, take a drive up the canyon for a unique and worthwhile dining experience.
Great atmosphere, terrific wine list, cocktails that people raved over, incredible service. The elk stew, quail and trout were all tasty. Best chocolate tort.
Wonderful meal! We ate at the dinner buffet, and everything I tried on the buffet was quite good. Then, the chef offered to make me a vegetarian entree which was wonderful. Good wine list as well. Will definitely be eating here often on our trips to Solitude!
Awesome after of day of skiing.
Great food and service!
Excellent food and service. Very relaxed yet refined atmosphere. Very enjoyable with a well selected wine list.
Large group of friends enjoying the holiday weekend. St Bernard’s did not disappoint. Food was outstanding - offering something for every different palette. Drinks were great & great service to boot. One of my favorites. Will definitely return & recommend.
My daughter and I loved the dinner buffet here. Food was varied, fresh, and delicious. Service was outstanding.
Best dinner at Solitude hands down
We love this spot and have dined here many times over the years. This was a little different with a buffet for dinner, albeit a truly wonderful buffet. We enjoyed the selections and the quality of the food. And most importantly, the server was extremely nice and pleasant. Thank you for a wonderful birthday evening.
We were on vacation at Solitude. My daughter has 6 major food allergies, we spoke to the chef (Javi) early in the day about her allergies. He created versions of all the buffet items that worked for her allergies, along with some other dishes that weren't on the buffet. She actually licked her plate after dessert! Javi came out at the end and spoke to her also. It was an incredibly delicious meal for those of us who could eat the buffet and for my daughter. Thank you, Javi!
Wow - awesome for New Year's - worth it ! Wonderful options - even some excellent sushi grade ahi tuna ..
After having several amazing experiences at the Yurt in Solitude we were so disappointed by our experience this New Years Eve. When the restaurant called to confirm the reservation they described the menu options for the evening which all sounded great from the description. What was not clear was the menu was actually a buffet style service. Needless to say we were very disappointed that the restaurant served a Buffet style menu for New Year's Eve versus individual course options of the menu described. None of us were impressed with the quality of the food provided on the buffet. We have been coming to Solitude for over 16 years and this meal ranks as the worst dining experience for us and our guests.
Great place to dine. Don’t be turned off by the “buffet” style. It is the nicest buffet I’ve ever been to. Food was exceptional. Everything was cooked perfectly - I had tenderloin so tender that I could cut it with a fork.
Great service and nice selection of choices from meat, salad, cheeses to vegan options accommodated by the staff.
We used St. Bernard's as the location for my son's wedding rehearsal dinner. We chose a Scandinavian buffet option and it was wonderful! The chef is Swedish and all the dishes were authentic and delicious!
Our family of 5 ate at St. Bernards while staying at a condo in the Powderhorn building. We had my brother and his girl friend join us. While the season was winding down (Spring break 2017) and so it was pretty quiet in the restaurant, their service and food was outstanding. Instead of the buffet style they normally do - they did family style and the food was all delicious. They also brought specially made dishes for my daughter with allergies and pasta for my two others who weren't quite wanting to eat all the other more adult fare. It is a very good value for a special meal while on vacation - and definitely more reasonable than the same style of meal at other resorts. We were impressed and glad that we chose to eat there.
A good place for dinner on any occasion and very convenient after a full day of skiing. There were ample selections of appetizers, the main course of beef, duck, and salmon were marvelous, and the deserts were enjoyable. The only thing lacking was the butternut soup that was mediocre in texture and taste and the pasta with white cream and parmesean side dish that we asked for was dry . The waitress was very pleasant and attentive and the atmosphere was pleasant. Overall a good dining experience and I would eat there again.
We enjoyed our dinner with friends visiting from NY. My only hesitation in giving food a better rating has to do with the buffet selections. The website menu lists numerous seafood/fish options but the reality of our dinner choices was decidedly weak in that category. To be fair the website states that the menu items change frequently. I would have thought that a fish option would have been a good addition to the buffet. Fried calamari, while crispy and crunchy, does not compensate. All that being said, I was very happy with the entire experience. Service was outstanding.
Really nice high-end buffet.
For dinner in the Big Cottonwood Canyon it is the best .
Open table reservations didn't work well as they didn't have our reservation 15 min later. But they made space for us despite that. The price of 38$ per adult and half for children worked out well when we tasted the food. One would be hard pressed to get that value elsewhere, buts not cheap.
They are quite accommodating and offered to make us food for kids not on menu too.
We were staying at the Inn so ST Bernard's is an easy choice for dinner, but more than that the staff makes you feel very welcome and the food is excellent. The large fireplace creates a ridiculously cozy atmosphere. We love it.
They have a nightly buffet that was outstanding
Food was amazing, especially the fried chicken. Staff even played with the crying toddler to calm them down.
Excellent Restaurant, great Staff. Recommend the Library Bar to start your evening.
Give this place a try. Fire, food ready and delicious. Yummy
Don't skip the fried chicken!
It's a buffet limited and better than average but overall just ok and it makes me lose faith in open table ratings
The staff is so warm and gracious. Try to resist the fried chicken if it's on the menu. We love the buffet when we have kids with us - with a large party it means no waiting. They can just go help themselves while the adults enjoy cocktails. Dax in the Library bar really knows how to make a drink. This is a fun evening, and if cold, there's a roaring fire for ambience. We love it!
