SqWires Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I had our first date here 6 years ago and it is "our" place. We have never been disappointed with any meal.., comfort food with a creative twist. The menu changes with the seasons so there are always new creative choices. The atmosphere is very comfortable, low lighting and authentic decor in the renovated wire factory adds to the unique and cozy experience.
Had brunch with family. Creole omlette was the favorite dish. Great Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar. Although Bloody Mary mix was not excellent. Don't sit near stage when there is live music or you won't hear table conversation. We asked to move and our server had no problem doing that. Service can be slow at times.
We went out to dinner with our daughter and her boyfriend. We were able to sit outside because it was such a beautiful evening. They had it well lit not overly bright it was just a perfect evening. The food was amazing we have been here several times before and the food and service never disappoints we would highly recommend this to everyone
Made reservation for 4 at 7pm. Unable to be seated because the table they dedicated for our reservation was still lingering over drinks. Several other guests were seated in open tables but my party had to only be seated at this one table . After 30 minutes of waiting I wanted to leave. All staff said was they could do nothing.
We met friends for dinner and ate on the patio. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the patio is screened from the street and feels cozy. We could hear the sound of the fountain in the adjacent square. Sqwires seems to allow dogs to accompany owners on the patio and there was an anxious lab at the table next to us. This is not a policy I enjoy but may be an attraction for others. It was an altogether delightful evening.
Menu selection was fairly limited for lunch. They do specialize in locally sourced ingredients and local brews and spirits. Hamburger, requested medium, was overcooked. Grilled chicken Caesar salad as good. Specialty cocktails were good. Interesting decor in renovated wire factory. Charming neighborhood. Nice outdoor dining available. Interesting, large self-serve Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar.
Our meal was very enjoyable overall. The Beef tenderloin tips entree was really good. The barbecued pork steak, however, was the thinnestwe've ever seen and was WAY over done. The person taking care of us, Margaret, was really super great, and gave us great service.
Sqwires was awesome! The staff was tremendously accommodating as there was five of us getting together for brunch for my birthday. One of us has a special needs daughter in a wheelchair and was running about 20 minutes late and Sqwires was very understanding. Our waitress was fabulous and allowed us to take our time in ordering and to spend time catching up as we don't get a chance to see each other very often. They were definitely busy but we never felt rushed.
The food was amazing as usual. One of us had a breakfast sandwich, another one had a Creole omelette, and someone else had biscuits and gravy. Each one of us thoroughly enjoyed our food. We've been there several times before and have always had a great experience. We will definitely be back.
