Valentines tasting menu was spectacular
Came based on friends' recommendation
We will be back
Our second time dining at The Squeaky Bean and were once again impressed by the staff and the food! This is our new date night spot ;). That 30oz Rib Eye is amazinggggg!
Legit AF. Try the lamb and the scallops are to die for.
Delicious farm to table food where the restaurant owns the farm as well.
Sunday's brunch. Great homemade donuts
Bloody Mary w Coors instead of vodka!
Chorizo hash was meh.
cool place, good vibe with the waitstaff, food was yummy but a little pricey
This is a great restaurant and the weekend bingo brunch is really fun. Great activity for visitors
Waited too long to dine with The Squeaky Bean! Octopus Carpacio was amazing and the Colorado Lamb was the best lamb I've ever had! Sea Scallops were perfectly cooked and paired with a celery mouse. Great cocktails and wine.
Fabulous brunch. We went to early for bingo so would book closer to noon for that
Oh my God. Every single thing I put in my mouth (from cocktails and appetizers all the way through to dessert) was just perfection. We started with the brussel sprouts which were just heavenly. I didn't think it was possible anymore to be inventive with brussel sprouts, but the combination of crunchy sprout with pine nuts/golden raisins/citrus dressing was so good I wanted another order.
We were here for a special occasion so decided to split the two-person steak. As we were ordering it I felt disappointed because there were so many more inventive menu options than just steak. Let me tell you, after the first bite, I was ecstatic with the decision. This may have been the best steak of my life, and the potatoes and broccolini were so perfect.
Dessert was a bourbon pecan slice of heaven(aka pie). I was so full by this point...but I forced myself to eat it.
This restaurant is definitely on my list for our next trip back to Denver!
Fantastic food and staff as always! See you soon! It's always a pleasure.
This was my first time there. My two friends and I went for brunch on Sunday which is served till three. The place was packed and we lucked out and got a table ealier than out reservation (which despite out luck I would get the reservation.) The food was great. But the portions were a little small and it's not always like that since my friend had been recently and had a picture of her food which is what I ordered and there was a pretty good difference. We ordered a forth plate to split between the three of us. I paid for the meal which was four entrees and a pitcher of mimosas we spilt, total came to a little over $74. Service was awesome and upbeat, food was really good. Still tipped 20% over all had a good time.
Good place to meet friends. I liked the roomy seating.
Was expecting to have more vegetable options with unique flavors.
Love the meat-cheese board and the kale salad!
We love weekend bingo brunch!
Good food and Michael was pleasant server. Will not hesitate to return.
I ordered chicken soup with gnocchi, before the main course, and shared it with my friend. The soup was so salty I couldn't eat it but the gnocchi was very good. When I told the waiter that it was too salty he didn't offer to remove it from our bill or offer any compensation. I was with friends and didn't want to ruin the mood so I just let it pass. I had the scallops and my husband had the short ribs with 2 glasses of wine. The rest of the food was tasty but not worth the $92 bill (before tip). My friend ordered hot tea and our waiter didn't check in to bring more hot water. We were able to ask someone else and she promptly brought some over. There are many other better restaurants in Denver so we won't be returning.
Love the "Bean." Brings to mind old Denver because of the building and location. We were there early, before a play so it was relatively quiet. Food was great, small plates are inventive, big plates are excellent. As a bonus it's a 15 minute walk to the Theatre district, and it's close to a lot of parking.
Lovely ambiance at this place -- cozy, warm, no blaring music or loud/offensive noise from other diners. It was Christmas Eve, after all. LoDo location is cool, though parking is challenging. Our server, Eddie, was friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, right there when we needed him and not when we didn't -- a true professional who I'll specifically request on my next visit.
Love that they serve truly vegetarian dishes -- not just meat-free versions of traditional foods. Pumpkin Barley Risotto had rich and creamy depth of flavor My dining partner raved about his Boston chicken. and also the creamed spinach and mac & cheese sides. I thought both were quite bland -- creamy, but no cheesy flavor in the Mac dish. Our 24-yr old guest ordered the beet and carrot salad and the the chicken dumpling soup and was very happy with both. We shared my favorite SB dish -- the kale salad --with its mild kale flavor, crunch of seeds and nuts and tangy and sweet fruits tastes.
Our beers were fine; we all wished there were more than the 4 draft selections available. Lots of bottles, though.
The butternut squash dessert tart we shared was the only real disappointment : the amount of crust was at least double that of the squash filling, and I could detect only a passing taste of it in my 3 small forkfuls. But no amount of it could have saved this dish -- the rosemary listed in the description caught our attention, but its powerful piney flavor was overwhelming and nothing else had a fighting chance. Perhaps the essence of a single leaf rubbed on the serving plate would have sufficed.
I'll be back, perhaps for Happy Hour during the week to sample the rest of the small plates.
The Brunch and Bingo is so much fun! The food was delicious and some really fun bingo prizes.
we came for brunch and bingo on christmas eve. the atmosphere was wonderful and we had a great time. i will definitely be back.
Bad night for the kitchen. Food is heavy. Just an ok experience.
Had a very bad first impression, as the young man at the host station was rude. Waiter was terrific, as were my scallops. Almost licked my plate! Hubby's steak was delicious, but the short ribs were dry. Chocolate dessert was decadent! We'll be back, but I hope the host station is run more professionally.
Everything was excellent, from the cocktails to the small plates, the venison and scallops, and of course desserts.
Very enjoyable dinner. Fine service and tasty meal.
Michael is great! Scallops superb.
The service was outstanding, and the food was even better. I would highly recommend and plan to go back.
Wow! I was here last year for happy hour & had a hot buttered rum made with coconut oil. This year they don't have it on the menu. The bartender made something just as tasty. Our food was wonderful. The Chocolate Marquis was heavenly!!! With its scrumptious orange ice cream, candied orange pieces and mini brioche pieces. If you don't get this dessert, then you have to try the orange ice cream. It does orange right, sweet, juicy, just a bit tart without any bitter or rind flavors. I would go again and again!!!
We went for brunch, and everything was really tasty -- my husband's prawn and grits was great! -- but my chorizo scramble only had 2 pieces of chorizo in it. Especially for the price, I found this disappointing. Still, the dish was very flavorful and the coffee was good.
The Squeaky Bean is terrific. Interesting food selections and a really creative drink list. The atmosphere is upbeat and casual. Try Sorry! if you want a fantastic tequila drink with a some unusual ingredients...absolutely delicious. For food I would highly recommend the Australian Prawn + Pork Belly share plate. Everything was delicious so these are only a couple that you may enjoy.
