As always a great experience, thank you!
At first, I was not impressed with the Squeaky Bean. It had a very casual diner feel and I was hoping for something a bit more elegant based on the menu I reviewed. However, once they turned down the lights and more people filled in the restaurant, it became very cozy in an urban sort of way. The food menu is very limited so if you have any picky eaters, be warned. Having said that, the food we did eat was so interesting and incredible tasty - roasted cauliflower, ricotta dumplings, lemony kale, followed by parpadelle in a white lamb/pork sauce and leg of goose. Everything was delicious beyond words. I would definitely come back to try more.
We were a party of 4 and each of us was thrilled with dinner! It's rare to have wonderful restaurant food that doesn't get its flavor solely from salt. We will return.
The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating, and our server was knowledgeable and very helpful for our first visit. Every dish we ordered was fantastic, but our favorites were two items on the small plates menu: crispy cauliflower, and warm roasted beets and carrots. We can't wait to get back soon.
My husband and I went for our anniversary. Our server was super helpful and had great suggestions on food and drinks. We will definitely be back!
Their cheeseburger is one of the best downtwon. though the chicken sandwich is great as well.
Nice atmosphere (just realize that Bingo is going on from 12:30-2:00 on weekend brunches and go earlier or later to have a more peaceful meal). We had higher expectations for the quality of food. Group of 6 and had a pretty wide variety of menu items. Portions were not all that large and prices were all that large. Quality was good but not great and left us feeling like the overall value wasn't great.
Excellent! Location is very cool, food is great and drinks priced well. However parking as with any downtown restaurant is a chore but paying $10 to have a $25 meal is a pain.
Bingo brunch is not to be missed! Amazing food and great entertainment! The stand-up comedian that hosts bingo will have you rolling in the aisles!
My boyfriend and I had the most amazing brunch. We ate pancakes, eggs Benedict with chicken sausage (which was so yummy) and our favorite dish, the pork hash ! Definitely a must , every single ingredient was perfect and the combination of flavors was fantastic!
Our server was super friendly and very helpful with all of her suggestions. They were playing bingo and giving away gift cards which made our brunch even more entertaining. Overall a great experience!
Everything about this experience was amazing: the food, the drinks, the service, and the atmosphere. Thank you!
I had the bacon benedict and it was delicious! And the bingo brunch was really fun! The atmosphere was great and the bingo host was hilarious. I won a jug of mimosas and a gift card! Will definitely be back.
Came to the Squeaky Bean with an appointment and were able to choose where we wanted to sit. We sat at the bar because I love to watch the bartenders make drinks and it just makes for an overall more relaxed time. The bartenders were very entertaining and we got to watch one of them serve a woman a drink in which the glass had liquid nitrogen - very cool.
Overall the food was great, but at times I felt like our server/bartender was a little too busy chatting with the other employees instead of taking our order or explaining our dishes to us. But, he was very personable and friendly.
Would definitely recommend!
The service was outstanding and the corner booth overlooking the dinning room was a wonderful bonus but the food was o.k. In a nutshell, it was delicious but the portions were small. I'm not looking for a Cheesecake Factory dining experience. I understand beautifully prepared food and the dining experience and all the finery that comes with that but this was criminal. There were 2 of us and we had 2 apps, dinner each and the cheese plate for dessert. We left satiated but also underwhelmed by the experience. My $26 duck breast was NOT a breast. It was 2 slivers from the breast. The steak tartar serving was the size of a golf ball. It was good but the portions were disappointing. We went to a concert afterwards and stopped off at the Walnut Room for pizza after our show.
We left sad and hungry. Everything we ordered was wonderful - original, delicious, seasonal, well executed. And yet, we used to feel like we got good value at Squeaky Bean. Did prices go up? Did portions shrink? I don't know the answer, but Squeaky Bean slipped from a 5 star to a 3 star for us. We may try again, but we'll need to save our shekels and order more food...
