Brought out-of-town family for dinner and some of us were going to the Symphony. Loved that our group of six could hear one another talk.
Great place to eat! The drinks and food were both great
Loved it. Husband and I went for date night staff was super friendly and beer was amazing. Food is really good slightly prices for portions but well worth it. Really enjoyed.
Good food and ambiance
Easter brunch was fabulous.
We were greeted with smiles and were seated immediately at our table. Waitress was by to take drink orders and explain the menu as well as the buffet options. One of our party ordered from the menu, while the other two decided on the Easter Brunch Buffet. All of the food was excellent. So many different choices on the buffet, including, smoked salmon, raw shrimp, fresh fruit, poached eggs on corned beef hash, ham off the bone, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, croissants, biscuits & gravy, blintzes, pastries and entire other area with desserts such as red velvet cake, brownies, cookies, cheesecake, strawberries with a chocolate sauce and more. And the staff was very attentive, continuously replenishing the food. I had a very refreshing cucumber vodka drink that I would go back just for another one of those!
Ambiance was wonderful, and service was just excellent. We will definitely be back.
Found this place on Open Table when the restaurant we wanted to go to had no availability. We were all pleasantly surprised. Would try it again if in the area. We left plenty of time before going to The Fox so we were able to enjoy a leisurely conversation/dinner. We could have gone a bit later - say 5:45 pm instead of 5:30.
Great food, drinks and atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
Very nice brunch. Loved the speciality drinks and the variety of items was appreciated. So many choice , will come back to try other items in menu. Look forward to the warmer weather and sitting on patio.
I had lunch on a Monday with a friend and I have visited this restaurant many times. It appeared they were not very busy, lots of tables were open. However, our food took a long time to be served. At one point, I was going to inquire if our order had been placed. Perhaps they were short on cooks, but if this would happen again, I would not be in a hurry to return.
Great time..great food....our waitress was so nice and real....no put on, a good person
My most favorite place to go!!!!
Sqaure One was only just okay. The food was normal food you would find at a brewery, nothing overly special. We were seated in the back dining space - which was VERY loud and could barely hear my parents sitting across from me. I came hear with my boyfriend and my parents for dinner and felt that we could barely hear a word - granted it was a Saturday night but it was too loud for my tastes for this specific occasion. The front bar room was super cozy and cute however. I would definitely come back if I was able to get a seat at the bar for a couple beers. Everything about this place was okay - nothing overwhelmingly good for me.
What a wonderful Valentine’s Night. Great pairings and grand food on fixed-price menus (Lyndsae French is woeful). Thank you for a memorable evening
First time dine and we went for Sunday brunch. Menu was very appealing to us with a large variety of savory dishes along with a few sweet ones. My husband ordered the scotch egg and the shrimp/crab omelet (note that a 4 egg omelet means just 4 eggs not 8). I ordered the cinnamon roll and the Southern Breakfast (andouille sausage, grits, biscuit/gravy, potatoes). Portions were plentiful - enough for 2 rounds of leftovers! Everything tasted very good. I was a bit disappointed in the breakfast cocktail menu - most were beer related and I don't like beer. Yeah I realize this is a brewery but it's also a distillery, and I would have liked to see a few more non-beer options. We would definitely come back again to try a few more things on the brunch menu.
Son their beer was one of the best he had had in St Louis ...for me, I went there because they had game burgers and the night I was there, it was elk ...good stuff.
I feel like we may have been a pain. We were having fun, may have been louder, all 5 had separate checks, a few of us changed our orders, we asked for way too many condiments, ect...
Our server was patient, kind, very helpful, and never showed an ounce of irritation. I wish I could remember her name now. Great food, ok prices, and just the best server ever. We aren't normally rude foodies. Just a perfect storm of celebration
And giddiness. She made it better.
We love Square One. Last visit they appeared a little understaffed, but still a great place to eat and drink!
Great food, great service, great value! Will definitely be back!!
The beer and spirits produced on site are very good, but the kitchen is what keeps us coming back. The menu is very solid and the execution is consistently excellent. I just really enjoy drinking and eating at Square One, whether at the bar or on the patio when the weather is nice.
It was my birthday and they brought a lovely dessert. Food was good, service was excellent.
Enjoyed the housemade vodka. Crabcakes were weak.
Brunch was great as usual.
Restaurant was great atmosphere. We were seated in a corner under a speaker the music was so loud. They started seating tables around us. With the other tables sat we were now uncomfortably blocked in.
Our service was quick but lacking . This is a brewery we were never told of drinks or feature beers? We ordered food . It was tasty and quick . The shrimp and grits was what I ordered . It was delicious but $17 for a portion that was child sized. There was no side offered with it. We were rushed through and never offered anything else. The server did refill our drinks promptly. It was ok . We might go back but we can wait .
Breakfast was quite yummy! Love their pancakes!
Wonderful brunch! We enjoyed the Bloody Mary Flight - not so much with Bourbon, but the Wheat Vodka, Tequila and Gin were awesome! The seafood omelet was delicious and did not skimp on seafood. Crab cakes benedict also did not disappoint. Share a Scotch Egg, it's worth the calories! We will definitely be back.
Great experience. Exceptional food and our server was fabulous.
Called same day for a Saturday night reservation. Went with another couple and we were able to carry on a conversation without shouting.
Highly recommended for any occasion.
I tried this place because someone gave me an "Originals" gift card and I am really glad. I really enjoyed my visit and will return and recommend.
The ladies all loved the flight of Bloody Mary's! Food was great too. Excellent brunch.
Food was awesome. I had the fish and chips
Went for New Years and the service was awesome and food was amazing. Perfect for a busy holiday because it wasn’t overpacked. Had the special pear cocktail, spinach dip, adult grilled cheese, brownie with ice cream and the coffee with fireball! All excellent!
The food is great. The drinks are fantastic (the house bourbon is yuuuum!). The service can be slow, however, so allow yourself ample time if attending an event post-dining. We’ve been to Square One several times and this has been the MO each time.
I made reservations for a group of seven ladies, and we all enjoyed our visit very much. We were seated right away and a table had been prepared in advance for us. I had the country fried chicken dinner which was really good, and way more food than I could eat. Everyone said good things about the food, and our service was excellent. I would definitely eat there again.
Great place to meet friends and tour the Lafayette Square neighborhood.
Good food, great beer, excellent service. We’ve been here quite a few times and always enjoy it.
Wow ... first time venturing into Lafayette Square and we found this gem. The entire menu looked delicious, though I went with the beer pretzels, a cup of the flank steak chili, a side salad with apple whiskey dressing and fish tacos. I also had a pint of their pumpkin ale and a red IPA ... both outstanding, and I don't normally do pumpkin. I probably could have stayed for hours watching sports on the TVs that flank the bar, or sitting at the amazing handcrafted wood bar, which I am sure is historic. I probably should have looked that up. Insulation was fantastic too, as we sat in the front, near windows, and never felt cold. It was 30 degrees outside at night. Anyway, amazing food and drink. A very friendly place. See you next time I'm in town.
Had a reservation and were seated right on time. Outside patio always better here than indoors. We were indoors so just OK. Really, really noisy! Food good not great . Server OK but not around as much as we needed. Had to wait 15 minutes at one point just for a refill of water. Beer selection surprisingly limited for a brew house.
The restaurant and staff were the best. Friends that hadn't seen each other in a while got together for lunch and we were never made to feel it was "time to leave". Food was good too!
Drinks were good, service was great, we were there for brunch, potatoes were cold on all our plates and poached eggs were cooked well done, no running yoke for our crab cake benedict.
Stopped in from out of town and my group was very impressed. The beer was great, as was the food! The only thing I’d say I was a little disappointed by was the grilled cheese. I maybe had a sliver of Brie on the whole thing; mostly bread. However, the beer cheese soup was great, my friend loved her nachos and we all loved dessert!
