Square 1682 Ratings and Reviews
We should've ordered a la carte instead of the Thanksgiving special
Tbe turkey waz cut off a breast in a faux "cutlet" style and roasted until the pointy end was hard. It was a thick slab instead of nice moist slice roasted turkey that you expect on Thanksgiving. Very disappointing. .
We like to come to the city a couple of times a year and try new restaurants but we find ourselves always coming back to Square 1682. Only restaurant we have visited more than one since coming to the city and I am sure we will be back here next month for our yearly date anniversary.
I always enjoy Square 1682. The ambiance is very nice, the restaurant is vibrant but not noisy, and the food and service - superior. Try the bronzino....I loved it! Our server made every attempt to make us feel well attended to, and was open to our substitutions on our entrees. I will be back again!
Our waitress was warm and friendly. My ravioli was swimming in olive oil which is a shame because it was sooo good. My husband did not complain about not one thing and cleaned his plate. I had a corn salad as an app and the combo of flavours was amazing . Definitely recommend
An enjoyable dining experience requires good food, attentive service and a pleasant environment. Unfortunately, this restaurant failed to deliver. Firstly the positives, the food was quite good, but we had to wait 45 minutes for our appetisers, and a further 45 for the entrees, even though the restaurant was only half- full. Service was indifferent, we were attended by 3 different servers, and our initial server forgot my order.
Ambience was non-existent, the combination of an open kitchen, non-sound absorbing materials and loud music meant that people had to shout to make themselves heard, adding to the cacophony.
I suggest management thinks carefully about which direction they want to go, they can be a bar or a restaurant, but not both.
Got the sweet corn salad, which could be an entree and the special, NY strip with sautéed asparagus and mashed potatoes. Couldn't have asked or a better meal. Many thanks to the chef, my server--apologies for not mentioning her by name-- and the great bartender with the excellent Cabernet!
Had breakfast/brunch with 3 friends early Sunday morning before an Eagles game. This restaurant was one of only a few in the area that opens early on Sunday. All of our entrees were delicious. Fresh & tasty ingredients presented beautifully. Daily frittata was exceptional as was the Build You Own Benedict. Service was great, although in all fairness, the restaurant was not very crowded.
The only negative was parking. When the hostess called the day before to confirm our reservation, she assured me that our parking would be validated. Turns out, the hotel (Palomar) only validates parking if you are staying there as a guest. This miscommunication cost me $27 for valet parking!
Took a friend to Square 1682 for her birthday. The food was delicious, and we had a bottle of champagne to mark the occasion. The restaurant is in the Hotel Palomar, and there was a sizeable group in the restaurant's bar. The sound level was so loud at times, we could not hear each other across the table. So if you want an energetic bar scene, this is the place! If you want good food more than conversation, this is the place!! Eat up!!
Great food and even better service!
Sasha, our host for the evening, was an absolute pleasure. She made sure we were taken care of and stayed to chat since we were out of town. A++ service
The food was delicious. The complimentary bread is toasted on a pan and served with butter.
We stumbled into restaurant week in Philly so tried the salmon and the pork chops. The salmon was the perfect blend of tender with a crunchy skin. The pork was a little dry on the corners but the pomegranate farro was an excellent touch.
Definitely coming back to try the calamari!
It was our anniversary and we went around dinner time but there was no one there. It was a little awkward being the only two there. We were a little disappointed that we chose this place as a good one for special occasions (as indicated from OpenTable) since we felt so awkward. Food was really good though. The risotto was filling and the popcorn in the beginning was delicious
