Spuntino is an intimate, Italian inspired restaurant nestled into the heart of the historic Potter Highland neighborhood, owned and run by a wife and husband, chef and manager team along their small, dedicated staff. We are obsessed with what we do and dedicate ourselves to sharing our passion for wonderful food, drink, and service with our lovely guests. We are inspired by our travels, our diverse culinary experience, our wonderful purveyors, by the seasons, and by the wonderful guests we have a pleasure to serve. We are a from-scratch kitchen, making everything we are reasonably able to in house, including breads, cheeses, pastas, gelati, a wide range of digestivi and amari, and more. We look forward to your visit!
What Insiders Are Saying
An excellent choice for special occasions, Spuntino is all about great pasta and wine.
Very quaint restaurant with a great ambiance. Would highly recommend this place. Every dish that we had was out of this world. Octopus was unreal and the hand made pasta is on point. Just come here 5 stars.
Yet another fantabulous evening with Elliot and Anna and the rest of the Spuntino staff. Food - Amazing. Wine - perfectly paired. Gelato - a sweet ending and the Amaro - beyond compare. Happy to hand off our seats at the bar to our kids, who walked in as we were leaving. From one generation to the next, this place is a classic.
I have been here quite a few times, and never been disappointed. my friends and I had the pleasure of trying out the new spring menu, we enjoyed the fettuccine and I loved the scallop dish. For dessert we had the olive oil carrot cake, this was my second time ever trying it and still love it. The staff is always perfect and know what is on the menu and how to present what they serve down to every ingredient. They are very well-versed in the wine list which the owners seek out rare grapes grown in Italy.
You should definitely get yourself over there and at the same time I selfishly don't want you to go so that I can have a seat at the table.
Spuntino was excellent. It was quiet enough to talk, which seems to be a rarity these days. Most of the dishes are listed as containing meat, but one of our party only eats seafood and our server assured us they were happy to leave the meat off or serve it on the side. The food was delicious. We had the lobster spuntino which was perfectly tender and had lovely flavors in the oil, the soppressata and the aioli. I had the scallops which were perfect, and the accompanying lentils, parsnip puree and brown butter were so simple and subtle but absolutely wonderful. They also have some great cocktails; my husband got the "House of Tom Bombadil" just for the name and while I am usually not much of a cocktail person, I thought it was delicious. Highly recommended!
I wish there were more stars to give - this was one of the BEST Italian meals we have ever had! Such unique and fresh ingredients, my visiting family from Chicago were highly impressed!
Delicious food and warm, attentive staff! We got the arancini, elk tartare, pappardelle pasta and gnocchi. The only thing I would recommend is getting the bread toasted with the tartare to provide more of a contrast for taste. Otherwise we loved every bite!
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Every dish we ordered was incredible. Very small kitchen and intimate setting. Highly recommend.
Excellent service, perfectly prepared dishes!
One of the best, freshest, funnest meals we’ve ever had
Absolutely fabulous food. Locally sourced when possible and definitely all fresh. Almost everything on the menu is made in house, even the after dinner drinks. I had risotto with beets and short rib (3 of my favorite foods) that can only be described as heavenly. Best ever. My wife had a farfelle goat bolognese to die for. We actually chose Spuntino over some other neighborhood spots on the chance that table conversation would not have to conducted with a bullhorn, as is the case almost everywhere these days. Our table for four was small and thus more intimate, so we could talk and be heard even though the restaurant was packed. The noise level is far from low, but at least we didn't have to shout.
Amazing food, great drinks!! Will
Restaurant week dining, menu was fabulous with a good selection. Service was spot one, lovely ambience. Nice wine selection. The olive oil gelato was out of this world
We have been coming to Spuntino for years-the food is always wonderful, fresh local ingredients and almost everything is made in-house! Don’t miss the housemade amaros it’s a magical Italian digestif, and the owner makes his own versions that are incredible. Love Spuntino! Also, eat the gelato.
Amazing service and delicious food!! Seriously impressed.
I've been to Spuntino twice now and have been delighted on both occasions. My second visit was for restaurant week and I had an equally amazing experience. Almost better to be honest. The wine list is incredible. My friend and I ordered different items for all 3 categories which is a great way to go. Of course, right? Everything was amazing. Spuntino is such a beautiful, intimate place - and the food is beyond gorgeous. I will definitely go again and this will be my place to bring family and friends.
While Sputino was fun and the place is small and cute... the food just didn't have the OOMPF that we were looking for. The dishes were good and balanced but my pasta was over cooked and the bread was not salted. Overall a cute place and I'm glad we tried it but we will likely not be back just due to the fact there are SO many places in Denver for food.
Really excellent, delicious food. Everything was high quality and handmade. Great cocktails also!
Best meal I've had in a long time, and excellent service! A bit noisy but in a fun way, the space is cozy and everyone is there to have a good time.
Food was meh. Our waitress was awful. I sat with an empty cocktail glass for at least an hour and a half (dinner took 2:15, wayyy too long, even for restaurant week).
Out for restaurant week. Was an amazing experience for the pallet! Homemade bread with salt was the best piece of bread I’ve ever had. Homemade pasta with lamb and curry seasoning? Trust their local ingredients and what’s available to them. It was amazing!
We came in for Restaurant week. Pretty much everything we ordered blew us away
Sophisticated Italian dishes in a "neighborhood restaurant" setting that feels completely comfortable. The handmade pastas are not to be missed! Especially the pappardelle with goat Bolognese. The octopus carpaccio and any of the house-made salumi or burrata are a fabulous way to start. We will definitely be back!
The service was quite thoughtful and attentive at Spuntino's. I found the food was just so-so in taste and not that great a value compared with the size of the portions. The music was harsh and blaring which our kind waitperson was nice enough to turn down. This was in addition to a fairly loud dining room.
Most fantastic Italian food in a Denver! Can not recommend enough!
We had an early Saturday evening reservation and had a wonderful meal at this small, intimate restaurant. We'll be returning!
Delicious food. My boyfriend got the gnocchi, and I got the pasta special (a fettuccine carbonara). We had polpo and burrata to start.
Wonderful wine selection, and killer cocktails. This place is just amazing.
Best Italian food in town! I’ve not had better Italian food outside of Italy.
The meals were fantastic, the wine suggestions were great, and the olive oil carrot cake was phenomenal. Will definitely be returning when we come back to Denver
Unreal food and excellent service ...the elk tartar was superb
I love this restaurant. The presentation, taste and imagination are
Date night with my husband at the bar. A little more intimate than a table, with great food, wine and service. Love this place!
Spuntino is always a joy!! Highly recommend it.
We are Pescitarians, and there is not much choice. Overall the food was OK.
This restaurant is continually one of my favorites. Elliot (one of the owners and Bartenders) knows his drinks and wine list. Can always help with finding a favorite varietal or mixed drink.
One of the loveliest spots in town, with a great menu, excellent and attentive staff and great location in Denver.
A lady friend and I wanted to visit Spuntino because a) she had never been before, b) the owner is known in Denver as being an Amaro connoisseur and c) it's always been a great experience when I've visited. The service and the food were both exceptional (as they always are) but we both enjoyed Amaro flights which were delicious and fun to try, but at 21% alcohol each we'll just split one flight next time!
Looking forward to returning!
Loved this restaurant!! Food was delicious and server was knowledgeable about how the food was made! It is a bit noisy but nothing to turn anybody away!! Love seeing the chefs cooking and the environment is perfect for an anniversary. Finish off with a limoncello!
Great food. Authentic with a twist.
Excellent meal, service, drinks and value. We’ve had meals for double this price that weren’t as good. I’d highly suggest enjoying an aperitif flight as your dessert.
It’s a great spot. We cleaned every plate. We even met the owner while trying multiple digestives. Almost don’t want other people to know how great it is.
Great food! Awesome cocktails! Our server was knowledgeable about all the food
