I eat here a few times a month. Eggs were cold and the steamed greens were served in a bowl of hot water. Need to pick it up!
Nice, diverse menu. Very friendly wait staff. Pleasant atmosphere. Very good food.
The food was excellent and the wait staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We had several young children with us and everyone made their experience lovely as well - complete with Mickey Mouse pancakes!
Perhaps. The food was not particularly good. Trout, poorly done. No taste. Lamb tasted like mutton, not what was advertised on the menu.
Previous chef or the one before that, was much better.
Great menu to choose from and excellent service from the staff.
Food was great. All the dishes came out at correct temperature. Service was excellent!
Excellent restaurant for fish and seafood. Great Happy Hour, even on a Saturday with appetizers and good wine selection at great prices. We had the oysters for Happy Hour and they were fresh, delicious and nearly 50% less than regular menu prices. The trout and scallops were both well-prepared entrees. The sweet & sour cauliflower & brussels dish was a highlight. Good selection of wines by the glass. The dessert menu is rather limited, but we were pretty full and didn't mind skipping it.
Great service from everyone and outstanding food! We celebrated our anniversary and it could not have been better.
This was our first visit to this restaurant. Really liked the food choices and everything we had was delicious. The wait staff asked if we wanted bread after serving our drinks which then came during the middle of the meal after asking for it twice. The restaurant is lively and the noise level really high. We tried to move to a quieter table after our initial seating, but then that area got loud within 5 minutes. Difficult for a person with hearing aids sitting in the porch area. Not sure if it would have improved in the dining area. It was at times hard to have a conversation. All being said, we will return because we loved the food!
The food was pretty good, although not up to their Thanksgiving menu. The rose was really dry, which normally I like to a point. I got used to it, though, so that was ok. The peach champagne sorbet was disappointing, very subtle as far as the peach flavor went, and I couldn’t really detect the champagne.
What was great was the server, Sean. He seemed really interested in our having a good experience, engaging us, asking what we enjoyed. He was interested and available, but never overbearing. That is an art!
Wonderful server. Very personable.
I love this place! Delicious food at reasonable prices! What a concept! So unusual in Boulder- good portion sizes, a nice variety of dishes, and lower end as well as high end wine prices. This place is so elegant I love the atmosphere, and the servers are courteous and gracious. I will go here again and again.
Breakfast and brunch items seem more attractive than lunch.
Everything was going well, until my food arrived. I ordered the Boulderado Bowl and it was cold. As I was with 3 others, I didn’t want to wait for my food to be sent back b
Great food- nice atmosphere-, The 2 top booths our favorite
We really enjoyed our breakfast. Our server Megan was fantastic! She made great recommendations. Everything was absolutely delicious and Megan ensured that our coffee was always full. Thank you for a great experience we will definitely be back
We've generally had good luck. In this visit our server forgot to place an order and they had eat after we were done. However, they did comp the meal.
The perfect place for a Mother's Day brunch with the family. Outstanding food and service. Thank you!!
I didn't like being seated next to the coffee station when there were other tables available.
It was a brunch for our sons college graduation. Two of our guests had not dined here before. Everyone ordered something different and all were most pleased. The eggs Benedict poached eggs were cooked perfectly & the hollandaise was flavorful but not overpowering. Nolan took excellent care of us!
Great breakfast! A lot of vegetarian options.
Fantastic food and service. One of our favorites.
The Rocky Mountain Trout dinner is a very generous portion of trout fillet perfectly prepared. The flavorful seasoned rice and asparagus it is served with is a great complement to this meal. As always, the service was excellent.
I certainly noticed a big difference compared to a few months ago. The service was great and the food was spot on. I wish there were more specials to choose from. The standard menu items are great but just nice to have variety.
Excellent food and staff! Wonderful environment! We had so much fun!
Weve been dining at Spruce Farm & Fish since they opened. (formerly Q`s)
What started out as an innovative restaurant with creative menus & excellent service has become a dim shadow of better days gone by.
We arrived about 1:30 for brunch. We had reservations & asked to be seated on the patio. The Hostess was annoyed we would even ask. There were only 3 other tables but our waiter seemed rushed & almost disgruntled at having to wait on us. The food arrived was sadly over-salted & Luke warm. Even the home fries were cold & appeared days old. We would have advised our waiter but he only rejoined our dining "experience" much later to drop off the check. Saying nothing even without effort to exhort a gratuity.
I would be hesitant to bring clients here or reserve a family celebration. Until Management works with the Chef & wait staff to provide patrons with what their simply paid to do. Offer good quality food & service for the higher then average prices being solicited.
Great spot for breakfast or brunch. Nice menu, full of favorites and some newbies. Super friendly service, nice presentation and fresh delicious food make this a winner for me:) Can't wait to come back!
Dinner before Prom with friends.
The food was very tasty and the service was good. It was a little loud but that's to be expected on a Saturday night. Overall, I would recommend this place just based on the menu alone. Keep in mind the parking is not good so be prepared to walk a few blocks.
Fresh, varied menu in the beautiful, classic Boulderado Hotel, steps from the Pearl Street Mall. Grilled Brussels sprouts & cauliflower and ceviche of the day were excellent. The mussels appetizer was huge and generous enough to be an entree. We also enjoyed the Rocky Mountain trout, which was fresh and well prepared. Valet parking is available (for a charge) but street parking wasn’t too hard to find, and free after 7 pm. Go on Friday night for jazz in the lobby courtesy of CU School of Music students!
Easter Brunch was fantastic! Great specials, lovely! It wasn’t my first choice but I’m making a reservation for Mother’s Day! It’s my first choice for brunch now.
Had early Easter breakfast.
Service was outstanding.
Setting was wonderful.
The food was not very good at all.
We have been going to the Boulderado for breakfast for years.
Over the past few years the quality of the food has deteriorated.
As the quality of the food has gone down we have been going there less frequently.
Too bad, it used to be a great restaurant.
They have also increased their prices significantly
Always enjoy our experience when we spend time at SPF. Love the old hotel atmosphere. Food is always good and the staff is excellent. One of our Boulder favorites...
Our waitress was very friendly and provided exceptional service. I was a bit disappointed because instead of getting a whole waffle I only got two halves. The chicken was cooked well. It was a good meal to leave boulder from.
The ambience is lovely. Waitstaff was great. The food was mediocre for the price. My scallops were so over cooked they were barely chewable. My husband found bones in his poultry dish. The appetizer of smoked walleye just tasted like cream cheese.
I went there with a colleague for dinner -- the food was excellent. We both got the steak with truffle fries- the fries were unbelievably crispy. We also liked the brussel sprouts/cauliflower appetizer. I really like the calm and elegant space, as well as the moderate noise level so you can hear yourself talk. Unfortunately a large party was seated next to us so the volume went up, but still the music is not deafening and it's a good place to go if you want to have a good conversation.
We went to the restaurant for brunch. We had a great time. It is a great place to eat.
Service was not very good. Calamari was somewhat sour tasting and dessert was dry.
It wasnt very busy but the service was not as good as usual. The waiter was unattentive and seemed not to care. Food was great.
