The food was excellent. The service was okay. I am a single woman and my waiter was pleasant, but he never asked me if I needed anything after my meal was served. There was a lack of attention.
Celebrated our anniversary at Spruce Farm and Fish. The server forgot to get us bread, but oh well. The calamari appetizer was very good. We also shared the small Caesar salad, which the kitchen was gracious enough to split in half for us. I had the rib eye, and it was delicious even though it was not prepared medium-well, the way I ordered it. My husband had the pheasant, which was also quite good. The Key Lime pie was the real star though. Best Key Lime Pie I have ever had!
Love this place to meet for lunch. The "Spruce burger" is excellent, especially with the truffle fries!
Service was much to be desired🔥🔥🔥
Excellent food, service and live jazz!
Unique signature dishes, but well prepared and recognizable. Brunch or lunch at noontime made for great choices. Very reasonable prices. Something for everyone. Great key lime pie.
It is a beautiful place with a great menu offering lots of fish and meat. I ordered Tuna and the fish was excellent. The only problem is that the menu failed to mention that the dish includes onions (in fact it was mostly onions, besides the fish).
The food was amazing. Dwayne, our server was fantastic, personable and had great food suggestions. A wonderful early valentines. We'll be back. My husband's only complaint was the food was so good, he ate ate too much.
A disappointing standard breakfast meal: two eggs over-easy (not over-medium as ordered), a single piece of toast, three extra-large but chewy and tasteless bacon rashers (where’s the applewood-smoked?!), and some tasty potatoes. Not good value at $12.99.
Very good food! Delicious and accommodated special requests for us. The restaurant is in a beautiful historic hotel in a great walk-to neighborhood. Maybe could dim the lights a bit.
My wife and I enjoy your restaurant very much and come quite often. The ambience and service are always great and food preparation almost always very good, (tho varies at times: we've found the salmon we often order for lunch sometimes a bit over cooked). Please keep up the very good work. We'll be back.
Great menu options and very good happy hour. We had an early dinner, enjoyed a cocktail and a couple of happy hour apps before the dinner menu started. Service was friendly and attentive, would definitely go back at some point. Food was fresh and high quality.
Tonight was great! Service and food and ambiance great all around!
The waitress seemed to have forgotten we were there. She started strong and finished weakly. Overall, the food was good but the service was sub-par compared to previous visits. Next time, we'll question whether or not we should take the risk. Don't forget about the tables your attending, it's frustrating for the customer.
Great as usual!
Nice menu. Nice place for family meal.
Unfortunately had a bad experience last night. We waited about 30 minutes before we had anything beyond water at our table. They brought our entrees out and for some reason the server left my wife's entree in front of a chair where no one was sitting and walked away; very strange. We waited so long that we just inhaled the food and left as soon as possible. Not sure if management changed or just under staffed for the night. We will probably wait for some time before coming back because we do like going there.
Fantastic! Clam chowder was to die for. I had the gin gimlet specialty drink which was delicious. Also the trout and wild rice entree. Everything was fresh and beautifully prepared.
Sad to say, the food didn't taste very good on this Tuesday night visit. The clam chowder had too much flour, the caesar salad seemed off, my wife's tuna tartar was very bland. My crab cakes were pretty good--but that's not a very good batting average. We had much tastier food when we were there about 18 months ago.
Our waiter was very good, and comped the tuna tartar--which was the only dish we complained about. And they gave us a very good free birthday dessert--creme brule.
Experience was really good. Food was very well prepared and presented. Great place for casual dinning or special occasion. Would recommend highly the trout.
Service and ambiance were fine. Food was mediocre. Four different dishes ordered and not one was anything special. With so many fabulous dining options in Boulder, just ok doesn't cut it
It was my dear friends birthday.
The waitress was not present and staff didn’t seem to work together. She never asked us if we needed anything , didn’t refill our waters or coffee. I had already gave her my cc and gave her a 20% tip. I think she had an off day?
Seemed like there was no one running the restaurant .
This is our favorite brunch spot! Their Eggs Benedict is the best and my gauge for all other restaurants! Today I had the spinach scramble with chèvre and it was delicious. All ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Great bloodys & mimosas too.
Pretty good food— salmon was great, crab cakes not so good. Brussels sprouts were OUTSTANDING! Cool location, okay service
I have eaten at this restaurant several times. However, this latest meal was a disaster because of the service. None of the appetizers, side dishes, salads ever arrived. After a long wait our entrees appeared. Very unprofessional. Since there are so many choices in Boulder for dining, Spruce has definitely fallen off the list.
Nice atmosphere; really great if you're staying at the Boulderado! Prime rib was very good, scallops were awesome! Breakfast was also really excellent!
I took my best friend out to dinner for her birthday. We had an amazing time, our waitress was so sweet, and we absolutely loved the decor/environment.
Had the duck quesadilla, which, whenever it is on a menu is a first choice. It was excellent. Service was quick and non-obtrusive. Menu varied and affordable.
Food and presentation , good. Eggs were cold!
The noise was on the high level, but we were seated next to a table 5 college age students. Probably not typical, but it made it difficult to hold a conversation
Great service, great food! Had the rib-eye - great flavor, tender, cooked perfectly. Pared nicely with Atlas Peak cab. Would definitely return.
The place was half empty, took 10 mins just to be greeted in spite of 5 staff members milling about, not even a smile or happy new year. The open table app says dinner from 3 but they close the main kitchen 3-5 so only serve small plates. I showed them the app and they agreed to make us food from the full menu but it wasn’t easy.
The crab cakes, roasted sprouts, burgers and fries superb. The steak was under seasoned and the mussels were not warm and kind of rubbery. Lastly, the carpet in the area we sat in was gross, food under our feet felt dirty and put me, in particular off my food.
The server we got was actually great, but a low rating for service overall because of no greeting and the menu being unavailable to us at first and one staff member being unhelpful until our actual server came along and found a solution. Wouldn’t come back again.
We went here for New Years Day Brunch and this restaurant did not disappoint! The menu was very large and everything peaked our interest. The food was wonderful, our server was top notch. A great place to go if you have different dietary needs. We will certainly visit here again.
Our waiter Dwayne was outstanding on New Years Eve. He switched our table from a crowded booth to a table for the 6 of us, the booth was way uncomfortable as we were packed in like sardines. It just wouldn’t do for him. He also went the extra mile to pull up a chair for our coats, as the coat rack for the restaurant was about to tumble to the floor on this very cold night in Boulder.
The service was incredible & the food was great! The trout, scallops, salmon & lamb were all a big success. All of his recommendations were excellent. All 3 couples were happy with their dining experience, and will go back again.
I have seen so much change in Boulder over the years and most of it has not been welcome. The Boulderado and this restaurant allow you to relax and enjoy the present while celebrating the past.
We had a very pleasant lunch. Food was good and service was great. Nice ambiance.
We went to Spruce Farm and Fish because the restaurant we had chosen was closed. What a great find. The food was all exceptional and our waiter, Dwayne, was great. Their coffee was better than any restaurant we have eaten at in years.
Exceptionally Slow service. Meals came out separately. Meals came out wrong. No refills on coffee or water
I was disappointed in the Christmas menu and for some reason, we did not get good service. We were compensated but I just was not happy with the whole experience this time.
